Large Scale Ebay Scam

Look at this eBay item: 6065814105

If you look at the email address this scammer wants you to contact:

vaiarex@yahoo.com

And do an advanced search for that email address and "search title and description" you will find that email address referenced on 306 items using the accounts of many eBay members. Those are all stolen accounts, I would expect.

I reported it to eBay. We will see how long it takes to get the auctions shut down.

It's a shame that you need to do this. Ebay should be all over it without warnings.

I will say that Ebay is pretty quick to shut down scams when they are reported. I've done it several times and they usually have them shut down within 24 hours. So...if you see something that just doesn't look right...always report it. Faster people do it, the more discourage the scum of the earth scammers will turn back to sending 400 V / a G ra spam e-mails per day.

Rip-Offs on this scale warrant a sting operation. Something like that would surely make people think twice about large scale scams.

Looks like Ebay is working on it. A search now returns just 81 items where originally when I reported it the count was 306.
