Moderators Amy Posted January 22, 2007 Moderators Share Posted January 22, 2007 I didn't realize people here were so passionate about Rosie and Trump. I kinda figured they didn't have much emotion pegged into it. Probably not overall, but there were a couple strongly worded posts in that thread that showed otherwise. It isn't something I wanted to have to look at every day either, since it was already debated on every news channel ad nauseum.
Spongeworthy
You locked my thread about Trump vs. Rosie which was a little ridiculous. It was all in good fun, you didn't like it, so it got locked. So no, I don't think he was kidding. I didn't see it as "good fun" at all. The topic incites arguments, ridiculous put-downs, and bad feelings all around--much like the people it was referring to. I never allowed Michael Jackson topics either when that fiasco was topical, so I don't see it as a big change in how I run things. If anyone has a complaint about how I am more strict than I have been in the past, please email me or PM me. It is concerning that people may feel that way, and I welcome opinions..but please ask me my reasons for what I do instead of assuming I do things simply because I don't like them. If that were the case, many more threads would strangely disappear, trust me. Point taken Amy. Sorry, I thought it was in good fun. They are both egomaniacs and I actually enjoyed them slamming each other. Your right about 'A League of Their Own.' Great movie and that's where it ended for Rosie. oldtimer
Oh that's right! The Trump/Rosie thread. I must admit, that one beat records. Amy - You are a Rosie fan? Beat records for what? No, the only entertaining thing Rosie has ever done is A League of Their Own. I choose not to listen to her or watch her otherwise--she is a comedian and an entertainer, which is why her initial comments didn't even deserve acknowledgment. But I'm not a fan of bullies that attack people based on how they look, either. Apparantly, some think it's hysterical. I locked that thread for this reason, so let's not bring it up again. Thanks. Damn! I missed a vanished thread and had nothing to do with it. Must have been working. I hate work. Why do you think they call it work? I don't wanna work, I just want to bang on the drum all day....
meagain
Rosie and Donald both insulted each other's looks. She started it with his hair and mimicing his droopy mouth, etc. Actually. But their insults as to appearance were both basically stating a fact. I mean, he does have funky hair and her fatness is a fact. I'm sure she's clinically obese. Amy, you have come perilously close to the argument made in Team America. There are three kinds of people.....It's funny because it's true, even if it isn't polite. There are three kinds of people.....It's funny because it's true, even if it isn't polite. Maybe so, but this is a company forum, and it's my job to keep it as "polite" as possible, which is a difficult road on any given day... Now, if you hung out with me on off hours, you'd certainly get an earful of how I really feel! []
oldtimer
I'll take that as an invitation for some day....actually there are a lot of nice people on this forum I would like to hang out with from time to time.

oldtimer
Absolutely, maybe next time we get up to SF. We have friends in Bernal Heights neighborhood, except they are having to leave there because of a new owner. Probably end up in Oakland, but as owners themselves this time. Chris Robinson
So has the good Dr. Lessard safely landed Down Under? I tried his Sympatico email account and it was returned ... Chris
