Moderators Travis In Austin Posted March 25, 2007 Moderators Share Posted March 25, 2007 I have a Theoben, the thing is down right scarey, not like any airgun when I was a kid.
Moderators Travis In Austin Posted March 25, 2007 Moderators Share Posted March 25, 2007 I built this little gem from a collection of NOS parts: That is amazing.
mungkiman
A friend of mine and I bought out a local repair station some yearsback, and were able to put together a number of "brand new" never firedexamples of some collectibles from the early to late 70's.Buyers on theinternet went nuts, with some things fetching $300 or more for a simpleDaisy spring rifle. We still have a good collection of parts, tools, and repair manuals, but we are done "making" air guns from parts. Itwas a lot of fun! SteelerFan
I've had a Crosman "American Classic" model 766 that's been in my closet for about 25 years now. I bought it on a lark because I was visiting my brother who was living in rural GA at the time. It was on sale and we had fun with it for a couple of days. Ever since it's been unused. Here in crowded Pinellas county FL it's pretty useless. I should have sold it long ago I guess.
mungkiman
You can still buy and sell airguns through online auction sites, like Gunbroker or Auctionarms. Plus, the longer you keep it the more it is worth potentially...
Mighty Favog
The yellow cone in the picture fits over the end of a CO2 canister, and the pistol fires the canister instead of a pellet. Is that for firing the grappeling hook over the 20 ft. wall to climb up and invade the fortress??? (G.I. Joe memories....)
ScorpsFan
Nice to see good quality air powered pistols and rifles are still around. My first was a Daisy 1894 lever action B-B rifle, followed several years later by a Smith & Wesson Mod. 78 .22cal pellet pistol based on their Mod. 41 Target pistol. I later upgraded to a Colt Python rotated through various semi-auto pistols and my most recent aquisition is a SiG P229 Hybrid, but I still have fond memories of learning the basics in the back yard (destroyed a perfectly good BBQ grill, much to my Dad's chagrin) with my B-B and pellet guns. rplace
Mungkiman, You got any Daisys marked at made in Plymouth, Michigan? I grew up in Plymouth and still think the old Daisy building is great. They renovated it and turned it into a restaurant back in the 80s. Not sure what it is used for now. I always wanted a gun with Plymouth marked on it just because I grew up there. PhilMays
Travis, What is the FPS on that baby?
mungkiman
The Daisy stuff I have is not old enough to be from Plymouth, but mybuddy has a really nice model 25 from there. The 25 is a pump action(like a shotgun) bb spring gun, which is a lot of fun. The springloaded magazine loads the bb's as fast as you can pump the handle, which also serves to tension the spring.Great fun!
