Does anyone have any suggestion on which Sub you like better and why?

Klipsch RSW-10d vs SVS PB12-NSD/2

Or maybe even a suggestion of another model that they might like better.

My DAD has the Klipsch model and it sounds good in his room but I have

not heard the SVS model. But I have read about the SVS in this forum and

people say that you can get a better Sub than a Klipsch.

Thanks

I'm a big Klipsch fan but I don't necessarily feel that the Klipsch subs offer the same value for the dollar that some other subs do. I've only heard the rw-12d in a demo room but I have to say I was not impressed. It sounded boomy and lacked punch which is unjustified at $899 cdn. I heard an svs a few years ago and it absolutely throttled the room. I ordered one last week and it should be in any day now. I know demo rooms aren't always the greatest and it was at London Drugs where a lot of the employees I've dealt with don't understand the gear to the same level that a specialty retailer would plus some of the walls were made of glass.

Some other manufacturers with good bang for the buck are HSU and Outlaw.

I love klipsch but previous poster is right. You can get a MUCh better sub from SVS or HSU. Personally I have heard a few SVS subs and HSU subs and I enjoy the VTF3 Mark 3 by HSU. Many times you can get it for 650 if you ask as well and this sub will blow your mind compared to your dads sub. its a 12" driver.

You can't go wrong with either SVS or HSU though. Both offer amazing subs and great prices and customer service.

Klipsch RSW-10d vs SVS PB12-NSD/2

Well... those are two VERY different subwoofers... so I
guess it depends what you really want.
Cardinal rule in subwoofer design is SIZE defines the cost/performance
ratio. Both Klipsch and SVS make good subwoofers their given each's design
criteria.

Those two units listed are:

RSW-10d = 13 x 14 x 17-1/2 = ±1.8ft3

SVS PB12= 19 x 28 x 26-1/2 = ±8.1ft3

Given that (six times larger), the SVS should offer a combination of more bass
extension, output, and cost savings versus the RSW.... at the expense of being
the size of a small appliance. The RSW
will be easier to move around and place... as well as fit in most
apartments. So one isn't better than the other... they are just very different from one another.

and the SVS still outperforms the Klipsch.

Only
if you if you ignore the size of the enclosures.... as the PC25-31 is,
once again, MUCH larger than the RSW-12. Sunfire subs would not
exist if size weren't a deciding factor.

I have an RSW-15 and I used to have a 20-39 PC+. Yes it went deeper, but I felt the sound output was of lesser quality. Basically, the SVS seemed to have quite a few harmonics issues that the RSW line did not have and it just got annoying (to me) after about three weeks with it so I decided to send it back. YMMV however.

P.S. I did also audition RSW-10's and 12's before I picked the 15. I preferred their sound as well to the SVS, so it was a more accurate comparison.

Klipsch is Kleaner. That's it.

Well put! Not only is Klipsch cleaner, it has more punch and is more musical versus the SVS. The SVS has lower output at the expense of total output. The funny thing is that the lower output is in the inaudible range below 30 Hz.

Persoanlly, I like the output in the range that I can hear. For lower output, get a Buttkicker.
