tuned4life
I got to see Steven Stills last night. Outdoor concert at the Seneca Allegany Casino in Salamanca N.Y.. Weather was perfect. I has fortunate enough to be right up in the front. What a great guitarist. I caught another one of his personalized guitar picks. I got hit with one last summer in Pittsburgh Pa. That makes 2 for my collection. Chad Cromwell on keyboards, Joe Vitale on drums, and some Italian guy on bass.

colterphoto1
Doug's the MAN! Good to hear you're getting out of the cabin. Looks like a beautiful night. I'm reading David Crosby's 'Long Time Gone'. Tough book to get through- lotta ups and downs. Very troubled fellow.

Islander
Joe Vitale and Kenny Passarelli were in Joe Walsh's band Barnstorm in the 70s. I saw the band a couple of times at the El Mocambo in Toronto and they were really good. And so was Joe, of course!

tuned4life
Stephen Stills rides in comfort. Nice bus but it doesnt have a 1950 Hudson Hornet roof line like Neil Young's bus.

It seems to me that his talent and fame came with a price. With my wife waiting for a liver transplant David's experiance hits pretty close to the bone. Hep C is a terrible thing. Back then we didnt know what we didnt know. I remember a 1960's poster warning that Pot was the assasin of youth and could lead to the needle. A warning that many didnt heed. I hope the Children dont make the same mistake.

The Barnstorm album, The Smoker You Drink the Player You Get, and So What are great albums. What a Band! I've got all those albums and listened to Barnstorm last night. I first saw Joe Walsh with James Gang at Winter Pop at Maple Leaf Gardens in TO. It was a New Year's Eve (1970-71) concert with 5 or 6 bands (8pm-2am?), including the headliner, Johnny Winter, with Rick Derringer. Winter Pop 2, the next year, headlined Edgar Winter and featured Alice Cooper, Dr. John, Rare Earth and some other bands. Joe came back to TO with James Gang, with Barnstorm (for a week at the El Mocambo!) and then with the Eagles a couple of times, so I was able to see him live 7 times. Now I'm hoping he plays Victoria some time!
