I don't think the metal market (kids with little cash -please take no offense if this applies) would support higher prices for their music. It seems to me the DVD-A/SACD market is for an older generation who is (a) looking for re-remastered copies of old rock classics (how many times must we buy Hotel California) or; (B) interested in musical fidelity where it really counts instruments and vocals (i.e. classical, jazz and blues).

I, for one, would consider paying $22.50 for Metallic: Metallic (DVD-Audio). To me, it is a rock and roll classic. But I highly doubt most listeners of Korn (spSmile.gif), Rob Zombie or Slip Knot would pay ten more dollars over the normal cost of a CD for a higher sampling rate.

Just my $0.02.

I hear what your saying Rob.. Im 22 and i would def

consider older mettalica stuff classic for what it

is.. It would be nice though to see some other music

in 5.1 that wasnt older not that theres anything

wrong with that.. I think the police have a 5.1 cd and

i love the police.

I have Metallic DVD-Audio and other dvd-audio disc like 6 so far. Must have a good subwoofer. And i will say that it will blow your other CD's out of the water. I am not saying that other Heavy Metal sucks. Its just that anything that is recorded at its best posible way on CD dont come close to 5.1 Metallic Its worth the price. because its going to be a long time befor you see Other heavy bands on DVD-audio. And i cant beleive DVD-audio has been out since 1997

With a good Redbook player(A tweaked 10 year old player BTW), and I can enjoy all the good Thrash that have collected over the last 15 years.

Granted they sound better, but the SACD's are aimed at the older market for now.

(Sorry kids.)

It will be Ten years before you see them covering most Thrash, Heavy Metal, Grindcore, Hardcore, Death and Black Metal, unless it is new.

I just wish Metallica would at least remaster their first 3 albums.

From what I gather, the Best Hotel California recording is the original LP.

which I frisbeed years ago, OOPS!
