artto
Wish I could have heard that. It seems that composer Johnson is wise enough to know that Grateful Dead's/Jerry Garcia's compositions are a bit more complicated than "three-chord wonders" comprising most pop & rock. I wonder if he's yet realized that much of Garcia and The Dead's work are heavily influenced by and built around traditional American Bluegrass? On a similar "note" ~ has anyone listened to Roger Waters' opera Ca,Ira ?
garymd
Larry C. and Mike Lindsey will be joining my wife and I this Friday evening for "A Symphonic Tribute To The Grateful Dead" performed at Meyerhoff Symphony Hall by the BSO. I've been looking forward to this for a couple months now. We'll be sure to pass on our opinions. It should be interesting to hear how the reviews vary among this group. billybob
Yes, I think this one will be around for awhile. It is almost like, "How many deads are in here?" Some will hear the Dead for the 1st time. Coming to Baltimore real soon now. Wonder how many exist, still?
