'Dead' Symphony

Wish I could have heard that. It seems that composer Johnson is wise enough to know that Grateful Dead's/Jerry Garcia's compositions are a bit more complicated than "three-chord wonders" comprising most pop & rock. I wonder if he's yet realized that much of Garcia and The Dead's work are heavily influenced by and built around traditional American Bluegrass?

On a similar "note" ~ has anyone listened to Roger Waters' opera Ca,Ira ?

Larry C. and Mike Lindsey will be joining my wife and I this Friday evening for "A Symphonic Tribute To The Grateful Dead" performed at Meyerhoff Symphony Hall by the BSO. I've been looking forward to this for a couple months now.

We'll be sure to pass on our opinions. It should be interesting to hear how the reviews vary among this group.
