For the most part I would agree with you. There are some California Chardonnays that are made in more of the French style and they can be quite good. Not all California Chardonnays tast like Rombauer - otherwise known as Cougar Crack - thank goodness!

The greatest left handed slugger passed today. Willie McCovey one of the all time great SF Giants died today. Willie was a great man and a hero to me. I don’t cry often but I did today. I had the opportunity to meet the man and he was a great gentleman and a humble soul. I was also at his last game as an active player. Willie Mays was the best overall player I ever saw but Willie Mac was the best power hitter I ever saw. A hall of famer on the team that has enshrined the most players in the hall of fame and in my eyes the most loved Giant of all times.

I’m 64. And no I’m not a troll. I’m not sure why not knowing who Freddy Mercury is or isn’t makes me one. I never intentionally listened to queen ( I now know that is the band he was in) or journey or foreigner for that matter. Just not my cup of tea. Steve Perry’s season tickets for giants games are right next to me and someone had to tell me who he was and why he would lead the stadium sing along for Don’t stop believing.

Agree that there is little correlation between vinyl thickness and quality. Like schu I agree that 45 rpm vinyl is the cats meow. One of the reasons I love my Tt is that all well mastered vinyl sounds like a 45. Can’t say I ever experienced that with a belt drive tt. J

Gaga can sing! Its a sad state that in order to get attention she has to put her **** on display. But I agree with others..she is a real talent. Cant say she has great ++++ts

I dont consider musicians heros but I do certainly admire and respect them. Just like all of us they have issues and a dark side. Same with ball players. I would choose never to meet my favorites. I dont expect them to be choir boys but I would still be disapointed to discover that they are ****** bags

Set up a nice little system in the Library of my new office space. I had the blumenstien single driver s and set them up with a uturn turntable and a nobsound integrated amp. Sounds amazing. The amp was 295.00 and the tt was 400. Pretty affordable. Young folks in the office are amazed. They can’t get enough. Great to see them appreciating something better than mp3s on their cell phones!

do any of the folks cleaning via ultrasound on diy units use any sort of filtration system? ie pump and filter. If so did you build it yourself? Using what? I have researched things like aquarium and pond pumps and filters but Im not sure they filter as fine as one would need for this application. If it sounds like I know what I am taking about that is purely coincidental. I have no idea what kind of filter one should use and I certainly don't know how to match a pump up with it! Thanks

From what I have read, there are different opinions on what the best frequency for cleaning records is. Some say 80khz One manufacturer of a plug and play cleaner claims that the ideal is 35 kHz. Who knows? I chose mine based on what the cleaner vinyl website recommended. I did not buy the cleaner vinyl components however. I chose the unit from www.thevinylstack.com quite honestly because I liked the look better! My Ultrasound unit is a 6litre and 40 kHz. And is identical to the one in the video posted above. Josh

Decided to start an additional vinyl cleaning thread around ultrasound cleaning. The "Best" vinyl cleaning thread is awesome and specific to the TAA home brew concoction so rather than muddy that, having a place to discuss what maybe the 2nd best way to clean ( note I do not mention preserve) vinyl would be a good thing! The thought of mixing up a chemical soup and applying and peeling was interesting but in the end I know I wouldn't do it on a regular basis. Also, I don't have any really dirty records. I don't collect to the extent that Dave does and have always taken care of the records I have. I have pretty much stopped buying old records unless I find something that is really interesting. For these reasons I was interested in ultrasonic cleaning. I put together a very affordable option with the vinyl stack motorized unit and a Chinese ultrasound unit off amazon. Have only cleaned a few records and have to say it works very well. I would be interested in others experience with ultrasound as well any ingredients to the "bath" that people have used. etc etc

Finally got my pioneer SX-780 set up for my workbench system. Actually I should say that I finally cleared a space for it! Using a benchmark dac 1 and my iPhone running tidal driving a pair of dynaco a25’s. Sounds pretty incredible.
