  2. Thanks for the help! I guess it would'nt be so bad, but I can only here one side of the conversation!
  3. Anyone else ever here people talking through their speakers? Is this CB or Ham radio? I here it with the volume turned down. How do I stop it??? Thanks!
  4. Can't wait to try em, side by side, with my Scala's!
  5. I'll be there @ 10:00 am Moday cash in hand! I'm in Portland
  6. I would like to try a different preamp with my Hafler DH220 power amp. I'm using a Hafler 110 preamp now with Musical Concepts mod. 2 channel only. Phono stage is very important (I don't do Ceedees). Looking to spend around $500. Used is fine, but I don't know what to try. Need suggestions!! 1976 La Scala's all stock. Turntables: Pioneer PL50 with Stanton and B&O 5005 with MMC2.
  7. I sold all of my 5.1 (receiver, sub, speakers,DVD player) stuff last weekend. Then went and bought a cheapo Toshiba DVD player. Hooked the Scala's to my 70's 2 channel Kenwood integrated amp. Much better! I'll never try more than two channels again. Maybe it's because I grew up on stereo, anything else just doesn't sound right to me.
  8. Murph weighs about 95 pounds. He's a very good guard dog,he can lick a person into total submission from three feet away!
  9. Kurt Capitol SKAO-492. Anybody wanna copy? Great album
  10. Scala's appearance makes one thing perfectly clear: "I'm one bad A$$ speaker". I've never had anyone say they did'nt like them...they just stand there with there mouths hanging open. My wife loves ours. She speaks of them like part of the family.
  11. this blose me away I should never have drank that
  12. I have 4 grown children, they grew up with my Scala's, L- 100's,Mach 1's etc. Stereo was what I did. I set each one up with a decent system. Out of 4 only my youngest son has an interest. He loves his Cornwalls and Kg 3.5's and vinyl. My oldest actually has a Bose system. My feeling is people just don't have,or take, the time to really "listen". It's difficult to get people to stop long enough make it through an entire song. They like the sound, just not how they want to spend time.
  13. I did'nt know if you were serious about the Technics.I went and got my old Technics SA-404 and hooked it to my Scala's. WOW,it does sound good. (I never tried it with my Scala's before.) Anybody else tried an old Technics with their Big Ole Horns?
  14. Welcome.Go for the big ole horns! I have La Scala's in a 12W X 15L X 8H room and they sound great.
  15. La Scala's. Fully horn loaded!! I turn mine over at least once a week just to admire my original "Domes of Silence" !!
  16. 1910 Fruitgum Company "Indian Giver". Budah #BDS 5036.
  17. Wow! I thought I was the only one still using a cassette deck! I bought the one pictured the same day I bought my La Scala's in 1976. Compare it's size to my Amp!
  18. Here's a pic of my Bose model 21's,"An Acousticouple" Design" ???? A picture is worth a thousand words. I keep these for one reason, a/b demo for prospective buyers. Guess which would you choose?
  19. Thanks for the welcome. I'll try posting a picture. My system is pretty simple but does the job! Hope this works!
