  1. Hippy!!..... Hippy!!! Oh my god, Gary's a Hippy! There goes the neighborhood! . . . . . . . . . . . but that's cool
  2. Thanks Max, I needed that. Signed, Not pissed anymore.
  3. JBryan....What are the other strategies?? Please tell me. I would love to hear them?...... Ahhh, but they don't exist. Signed, Still pissed at the world.
  4. DABumann, says.. "I bid early and I bid often. Why do i want to wait for 3 or 7 or 10 days to see if my bid is good?" DABumann....the reason you wait is obvious,...it doesn't matter whether you bid at the first day of the auction or last few minutes, you still have to wait till the end of the auction to find out if you've won. DABumann says.... "And you know what, sometimes those early bids win." I say DUUUH! self explanitory. DABumann says.... "If I'm selling something, I want lots of bidders who want my item, and will pay much more than it's worth." Precisely my point, I'm talking about what's good from a BUYERS perspective. And thanks again, for punctuating my point. BUYERS don't like throwing away money. DABumann Says...."They don't want a good deal, they just want it!" DUUUUH! God help this boy. DABumann Says....."I'd like to hear some facts that support that bidding at the end of the auction will get yourself a better deal than if you would have placed your bid early." GOD HELP THIS BOY!!!
  5. Why in the hell do so damn many stupid morons bid on ebay items with days and days to go before the auction ends? I even see some of these idiots getting in bidding frenzies with other bidders with days still left on the clock. Someone please explain to me why this happens. Especially when I see names that appear to be from members on this forum. It just seems so asinine when it's obviously not the best way to get a good deal. Signed, pissed at the world.
  6. Talk to Al , or visit his web site to get the low down on the crossover for your application. Here's the web site....www.alkeng.com Remember, AL is a consultant, and if you are truely interested in learning you may be required to pay for his services. Or better yet, scope out amazon.com for some reference material and read.
  7. The advertised veneer is obviously mis-represented. As for the PW initials, I don't beleive it. But I am curious though about the staples on the inspection lables. I am a relatively new Heritage owner, so I can't say this with positive certainty, But I don't ever remember seeing a pair of Heritage series speakers with stapled inspection stickers. Too suspicious for me.

  9. Yea, I (member name catdenise) left dichead his first positive feedback. Stupid ignorant me.... I picked up the speakers at the freight company on my lunch break, then happy as a lark and excited with my speakers returned to work were I proptly left him a positive feedback. But when I got home, unpacked them and hooked them up....surprise surprise.....no sound. I've tried to find a way to remove the positive feedback I mistakenly left him, but the only option that SquareTrade seems to allows is the removal of neg. feedback that was left on my name. Well, I have no neg. feedback, and don't want to pay $20 to remove the pos. feedback that dichead left me. If you know how to remove or amend previouly left feedback, please let me know.
  10. Not to worry 3d, I've got enough friends in federal law enforcement to fill up a bus. I know how to deal with senior dichead.
  11. Here's dicheads login name exactly as taken from a saved ebay email....listenerxchange. Dichead's real name is DICHEAD!!, but he also goes by Adam Griffin =============================================================== > Adam, when is a good time to call you. > -------------------- > > > Question from: catdenise > Title of item: VERY RARE orig. Klipsch Cornwall (1962) > Seller: listenerxchange > Starts: Jul-23-03 14:36:46 PDT > Ends: Jul-28-03 14:36:46 PDT > Price: Currently $1,225.00 > To view the item, go to: > http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3037258143
  12. I think those headphones limit your hearing enjoyment to 60Hz.
  13. Hi Smilin.....I my self was burned by a mis-represented item on ebay. The item was a pair of 1968 Cornwalls. I paid $1200 for the speakers, and had to spend an additional almost $400 to get working. When I received the speakers and opened them up, I found a missing a woofer and a fried crossover. The seller's ebay log-in is listenerexchange, (Andy Griffin) beware of this seller. When I called the ******** to find out what the story was... all I got was a story, a BS story............. Anyway, months later, the matter is still unresolved. I've been dealing with SquareTrade to resolve the matter, but they suck. SquareTrade is pretty much worthless, unless you want to have false or untrue negative feedback removed. All SquareTrade wants to do is collect $20.00 to remove feedback. They can do nothing else. Against the recommendations of a couple of fed. law enforcement buddies of mine, I personally will deal with dichead when the time comes. It won't be long before I have to make a trip to his neck of the woods. And I'll pay ******** a visit and sort it out my way.
  14. NO CASH,,,,Ohhh Crap!!!...But just look at those lovely's, hubba hubba hubba.
  15. Very nice finish on those Khorns. Your decision to redue them was a winner, and you obviously have some wood finishing experience ta boot. By the way, is that a velodyne subwoofer? Nice Khorns....niiice khorns.
  16. Those are Huggy Bears heresy's, and he wants them back NOW!
  17. Since your limiting the selection to the past 5 years, I'll mention only 3 artist. COLDPLAY, JOHN MAYER, JONNY LANG only these 3 because I like every song on their album(s). If you let me go back further I'll show my head banging side. COLDPLAY..."Parachutes" and/or "Rush Of Blood To The Head" JOHN MAYER...."Room For Squares" JONNY LANG...."Smokin", "Lie To Me" and "Wonder This World" Nice topic josh...now that I've read through the posts, I've got list of CD's to sample. See ya!
  18. "Some of the nicest people I know are attorneys. Some of the scummiest people I know are attorneys. Same goes for engineers." Hi Gary: Same goes of engineers, NO WAY!.........Just kidding, and I get your drift, but trust me, you did'nt have to explain it. I just got carried away by Artto's apparent taking offence to my questions. I did say most attorneys though, and unfortunately, the term most comes from past experiences. Even when the attorney(s) represented me. I could tell you first-hand some wopper stories that would curl your hair. By the way, there are attorneys in both my wifes, and my families. All of them have a great sense of humor, which is good because I love teasing them. Anyway, that's it for me; I think I'll sit back for a while a be a forum spectator. See ya
  19. On 9/22/03 at 11:12pm Artto wrote: Get off my back Gilbert. (thanks your defense Kelly) I've owned Klipsch speakers for a longer time than many folks on this Forum have been alive. Cornwalls were my first Klipsch speakers (1973). And didn't buy them for their 'musical (colored) qualities'. I bought them because they were far more accurate than other potential candidates available at the time. I define accurate as the speaker's ability reproduce sound in life-like manner. Not as how 'musical' it sounds. Yes, I subscribe to PWK's point of view that the more accurate the reproducer, the worse it sounds until all other sources of distortion (including those induced by it's interaction with the room) are minimized, or eliminated, if possible. Kelly is correct in that there are obviously some sematical differences involved here. And what speakers do I like? That should be pretty obvious. One does not sink $15K (1982$) into building a dedicated listening room designed around a specific set of speakers that he/she doesn't like. No, I'm not a "polotician". I assume 'politician' is what you meant..............don't get me started man! Most politicians are attorneys. And attorneys are..........well, let's not go there. ============================================================ OK, OK, Artto, don't get upset. Daaaaammmnn! Boy, did you (and Kelly) interpret me incorrectly. I am not an antogonist. As for my spelling, well, I know it atrocious; But hey, I'm engineer, and spelling is not my strong point. However, I do beleive we share the same feelings about attorneys. Most I would say, are the scum of the earth. And as for the definition of Musical, (at least as I intended it in this tread); it is simply this, the speakers ability to reproduce sound (in this case music) as it was recorded. End of question. Good night. Geeeees!
  20. "'Musical', in this sense, to me, is another subjective perception description which implies a "having pleasing harmonious qualities". Which is another way of saying the audio component has a specific coloration." Hey Artto, are you a polotician? I thought it was a straight forward question. I beleive everyone on the forum understands the obvious roll that the driving components have on the sound quality, but Jesus..... From your first post, it sounds to me like you don't like you Khorns and Cornwalls. How long have you owned them, and why havn't you sold them for something you do like. By the way, what speakers do you like, if any?
  21. What's the most musical speaker you've ever listened to? Klipsch or otherwise.
  22. Hi Clark, I've been away, but I'm back. No, I certainly did not take offence to your asking me what I do for a living. And I appologize for sounding PO'd at salesmem. I'm not, not at all. As a matter of fact I made good friends with the salesman (Kirby, yep, that's his name) that sold me my HTS. He is very cool, and everytime I walk into Ultimate Elec. I will only deal with him. We have developed a very good repitua. Regards, Gil
  23. Jeff, I received your nice email, and let me state that I do not doubt your integrity. It's just that I want to know about any and all cosmetic discrepancies on the veneer. The additional photo's I would like to see are closeups of these discrepancies, possibly with a coin or measuring tape next to them. Total cost for me to get those speakers to me door will be around $2000. And I want to know about every nick, scratch, stain, or dent on the speakers. I am looking for something that would be considered 90% condition. A very good example of what I consider to be 90% would be the Belles currently on ebay. Like you, I too am a novice at selling and buying, but I'm learning. I hope I'm not wasting your time, and I appologize if I am. It's just like I said though, I want to know about every flaw, cosmetic or otherwise.
  24. Jeff: I did'nt receive any photo's, but if the file size is 5meg or larger, please send them to my office email. gilbertl@wallacesc.com Thank you, know I'm off to work.....see ya!
