  1. He might have been a great performer but I don't think he contributed much to the band musically. I have the Jerry Cantrell solo album and its easy to see where most of the music in AIC came from. Ken Starr has a lot of cred as a musician too. Degradation Trip is a great album, Boggy Depot is not to shabby either. I find it hard to replace Jerry's singing let alone Layne's. I'm a bigtime AIC fan, but damn that Degradation album is talented.
  2. Very sad news. He will be missed bigtime. You could say he lived a dangerous life, but you could say the same for construction workers also. At the very least he lived a very enriched life while he was alive. I feel realy sorry for his wife and kids. They seemed very close.

Yeah try out 2112. Matter of fact I need to buy it. I had it on cassette. Don't know what happened to it. There are some darn good tunes on that greatests hit there though. But maybe it was the flow. I think you will realy dig 2112. Makes me want to hear "The Twighlight Zone" right now just talking about it. I believe it celebrates it's 30 year anniversery this year. I just googled it that's how I knew. []
  4. GODSMACK IV FORMAT: CD HARD DRIVIN ROCK, WITH A PRETTY GOOD PRODUCTION. SULLY SEEMED TO HAVE LOWERED THE OVERALL VOLUME, AND THIS RESULTS IN A PRETTY GOOD PLAY BACK ON MOST SYSTEMS. KEEPING IT DYNAMIC WITHOUT PEAKING OUT ALL THE TIME. IN MY OPINION ALOT OF NEW ROCK RECORDINGS SHOULD TAKE THIS APROACH. TRACK LIST 1) LIVIN IN SIN 2) SPEAK 3) THE ENEMY 4) SHINEDOWN 5) HOLLOW 6) NO REST FOR THE WICKED 7) BLEEDING ME 8) VOODOO TOO 9) TEMPTATION 10) MAMA 11) ONE RAINY DAY THEY ARE PLAYING 'SHINEDOWN' ON THE CARSON DALY SHOW ON FRIDAY SEPT, 19

    Walk the line

Really? I heard Johnny wanted someone who could play the guitar real good to play his role. Apparently Phoenix grew up in a family of musicians, but wasn't a guitar picker. I'm not sure I just seen a couple of women gabbing about it on some pre oscar interview. Anyways I realy like the film too.
  6. Looks like a good time to me Picky, and them steaks fuggetaboutit.
  7. Gov't Mule- High and Mighty One of the best rock cd's to come out in years! Production is great with some smokin rock tracks. You would almost swear you was listening in surround sound at times. This album has alot to offer. Do not miss this! If you like classic rock its' a must buy to see what can still happen in this day and age. Thebes i'm not looking to double my chances of winning a gift here. I just didn't want anyone to miss out on this. I posted it on the last day of last week I believe in the wee hours of the night. [] ( something like that, anyways enjoy)

  9. Yeah I really liked what Athena used to offer. I still got the sub that matched up with the AS-F2. It doesn't have the biggest impact, but man it just dissapears goes low and is really musical for the money. I had a mirage sub that was very musical and had good slam. I wish I never parted with that. I remember about 2 years ago people would be gettin kind of worked up to hear of something like this. I guess when things start to go in motion people eventually go with the flow, or leave. Klipsch has been growing pretty quickly in the past few years. So probally it's no surprise to anyone anymore for another merger, or buy out ( whatever their calling it nowadays). I see the heretage line for sale now in the online magazine ONE Call ( no reference though that seems a bit odd). Personally i dont' care what Klipsch does as long as the quality stays the same from all the Klipsch owned speakers. Actually I wished I had stock in Klipsch 4 years ago. I really do like the idea of being able to buy heresy's, or Klipschorn's if I wanted them by phone. I remember when I couldn't even get the synergy line over the phone. It drove me mad. I got my synergys before best buy started selling them, and they were tough to aquire in rural America. Does that make them more collectable now?[] By the way I still LOVE my synergys.
  10. http://www.stereophile.com/news/082106klipsch/ Klipsch Group Acquires API By Wes Phillips August 20, 2006 On August 15, Klipsch Group, Inc. announced the acquisition of Canadian firm Audio Products International Corp. (API), one of the largest speaker manufacturers in the world. API, which makes loudspeakers under the Mirage, Energy, Spherez, Sound Dynamics, and Athena Technologies brands, was founded in 1973 and is sold in over 50 countries worldwide. Klipsch, which makes speakers under the Klipsch marque as well as Jamo, was founded in 1946 by legendary speaker designer Paul W. Klipsch and has become "the largest stand-alone speaker manufacturer in the US." Fred Klipsch, the Klipsch Group's CEO, said, "We are excited about the acquisition of API. The acquisition will strengthen both brands without diluting the heritage and quality that both companies are renowned for worldwide. API will continue to develop and deliver added-value offerings to all of our customers in the audio products industry." That's standard press release happy-talk, of course, but even Klipsch's competitors see the move as one that benefits both companies. "Klipsch has been going blockbusters in the specialty audio business for the last 10 years," the sales manager of a competing loudspeaker company confided to Stereophile. "They've been so successful that they really have only two strategies for continued growth: sell speakers that don't have the name Klipsch on them, and sell speakers outside the US. The API acquisition allows them to do bothwithout diluting either brand or sacrificing core values of quality and performance." API also offers Klipsch access to its R&D facilities (and those of Canada's National Research Council), a not-inconsiderable benefit for the technology-driven loudspeaker company. Klipsch's acquisition press release alludes to that, saying, "Klipsch, Jamo, and API brand teams will work in a cooperative fashion to develop global technology platforms and product strategies that leverage investments in R&D, insuring the Klipsch group of brands stay on the cutting edge of product, technology, and brand development." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I always thought API designed some great stuff. Probally the biggest competition towards Klipsch, dollar for dollar.
  11. Try not to trick yourself in to liking it to justify the expense. I know I have in the past on certain items. Louder isn't necessary better to "your" ears. Also I used to own a very cheap Toshiba dvd player, and for some reason it sounded warm. Using the exact same DAC's in my reciever at the time like a transport. I would switch over to my Onkyo and it would seem louder but not what I liked. I have a used AMC, and NAK right now for cd listening. I'm only using the AMC it seems very smooth except for a handfull of recordings.
  12. I want to see this BIGTIME. I just hope I don't piss around untill it's to late. Then it will take forever to be on dvd.
  13. I guess I got one on the way also. I mentioned I was from the Klipsch forum. Thanks to Yendor for the heads up on this thread. Haven't been around in awhile and he informed me. Cool of him, and the person who started this thread. *thumbs up*
