  1. You may want to check out the odyssey epiphony. They may be way better than dynaudio
  2. May God bless us all even our enemies. If you can't forgive your enemies how can you be forgiven.
  3. You should check out some odissey audio epiphony. They have a review of them on tnt audio. They are all under a grand and they are in a shoot out with dynaudio and i think the odissey had much more air and soundstage to them they litterally dissapear. And they can play pretty loud. Just check out tnt audio speaker testing. I think they mayby from italy or something but one of them emailed me and said i should check out odissey but read all the reviews so you get an idea of the different comparisons. I am thinking about going two channel in a different room home theater sucks for stereo.
  4. Oh i got the bug all right. It's just that i got two bugs i got hometheater with good stereo and i have the guitar and amp bug. I wonder if the sf-2 were any good before they were sold at best buy. After all i did purchase them before this happened. Now it's like they got a scarlett letter on them unable to be forgived. No one has love for the synergy line? I'll have to think hard about this one because of all the bass i will be missing in my price range. I don't use a sub for critical listening which is all the time unless i put in a dvd concert then most the time i'll watch it in pcm with sub. I have know way of listening to the references so thinks for your input. Mayby i'll just save up and get some rf-35 or rf-5. In the long run it'll probabally be worth it. I am addicted to klipsch for music but movies on regular tv seem a little squashed in the soundstage department their not that wide of a soundstage. They have great depth and imaging. Dynamics are outstanding. Of course the reason being on regular tv they reveal all the bad channels sounds. I put in a dvd and i am pretty happy with them. My brother has athenas and they soundstage for miles upon miles. They are great speakers but they are not as dynamic which in the long run is more inportant to me than their huge soundstage. He comes over and he has the same amp and he is like holy cow i'd have to crank my amp all the way up to get it that loud. So he's going to by the reference rf 35 and a nad amp (that lucky little son of a b***h). Acually then i'll be able to hear them. Do the reference have a bigger soundstage? It would seem the larger the horn the larger the soundstage. I don't know. They were selling a few kg-4 speakers on ebay. Who knows if they work though.
  5. Tell me about it they are two great albums. Man i just about forgot about the cars. I have so many cd's i forget about some of them i'll have to break that one out. I just bought ac/dc remastered powerage. I may actually like the original seems more balanced with less highs. but it's great. I was checking out beavis and butthead does america and they were playing gone shooting and i was like wow i forgot about that one for awhile. Talk about memorys beavis and butthead. Remeber that part when the now hank hill says are you them boys whacking in the tool shed. Priceless
  6. Oh i forgot what specific niche do you mean? I may be part of that niche. I live for rock thats that.
  7. Thanks and i thought the sf-2 was critical showing off all my junky equipment. Speaking of the devil i saw some kg-3 speakers for sale on ebay. I thik they were like only two feet tall in a nice lighter wood finish. With an eight in speaker and ten inch passive. But i may want a slimmer tower. I have a chance to get rid of mine down the road in a little while. Know even knows what klipsch is around here. I played zeps new dvd to a friend and he said that is the best he has ever heard led zeppelin sound. I said yeah that's a great recording but the speakers have alot to do with it.
  8. Oh i forgot tenacious d was a special on hbo or showtime. Iam pretty sure it was hbo because he did other hbo stuff like mr show. Bob and dave I think that is mr show
  9. tenacious d is definetly where Jack Black became known. He had a lot of back ground acting in comedies to. to many to name plus to burn out to think. I just wanted to hang out NO BIG DEALLL!
  10. Metallica a year an a half in the life of, The doors, pink floyd the wall, Metallica cliff em all,
  11. Swinging to the rythm of a new world order end. Count bodies like sheep to the rythm of the war drums. The boogie man coming the boogie man coming. Keep your head down go to sleep to the rythm of the war drums. Stay with me safe and ingnorant. Just stay with me. I'll do what to protect you from the other ones the evil ones tonight son go back to sleep. I am not sure if these are correct lyrics but never the less awesome. I really dig the outsider to. Pet almost reminds of a tool song ()

Oh sorry about not complimenting your system. It looks great. Got to love black. How is that pioneer on 2 channel playback?

Boy doesn't that muddy your midrange to death having your speakers that close to your entertainment center. But it doesn't look like you have a choice with that corner right their. I put my speaker like that and the sound is so boomy.
  14. Sorry to hear about your problem with your denon. I just went through some problem with might right channel on my new onkyo, and sent it to united radio. Let me tell they fixed that booger pronto and sent it to me working better than i could ever imagine i think they souped it up. They are an excellent repair place the best on the east coast. I have absolutely no hum at any volume i can't detect a hint of noise anywhere in my system except the tv which is normal. You may have electrical problems. You are in good hands with united radio beleive me. But i know you have to have patients i was about ready to kill someone. A day seems like a year when you got screwed somewhere down the line. I was ready ban onkyo for life and dedicate my life to destroying the companies reputation. Peace out

Some excellent heavy jams, and even her Jagged Little Pill stuff was played with more intensity and much heavier than the radio versions. I think between her first and second CDs she discovered mushrooms and Physical Grafitti. Best example is "Uninvited" off of the City of Angles soundtrack (in HDCD!), Zep couldn't have done it better. And that's saying a lot. ---------------- isn't it ironic? don't you think?
  16. vanilla sky man. No one thinks this? That was just plain awesome.

The SF2s do play a bit lower than the RF25s, but you'll probably never notice the difference if you do proper bass management to your sub. If I were you, I would go for the RF35s or look for a good deal on some RF3s on ebay. Jerry Rappaport ---------------- Thanks for your input. I usually listen to music without the sub unless i am listening to some seriously heavy stuff my friends bring over. My room it 22 feet wide 12 depth. I sit pretty close to them but they got a lot of room to breathe before they reflect off the side walls. Are the reference that much better in the high's and mid's department? Thank you
  18. This is a hard one. But did anyone watch vanilla sky that was a trip for originallity. Clerks by Kevin Smith was awesome. Ed Wood another great movie. Fear and loathing in las vegas. The big lebowski, u turn, apocolype now,Pink Floyd the wall, damn near every Johny Depp movie. The sixth sense, frailty, wizard of ozz, evil dead, star wars, memento, the shining, mad max, cheech and chong, close encounters of the third kind, back to the future, psycho, the birds, edward sizzorhands, pulp fiction, caddyshack, spinaltap, the postman, waterworld, matrix, some old movie i seen when i was a kid where everybody was either dead or dying from rabbies. The animals where spreading it man that was creepy back then. Rosemary's baby, mel brooks movies, men in tights, something about mary, stand by me, spy game, blood work, poltergiest, total recall, terminater, last action hero, the exorcist, gum ball rally, what's eating gilbert grape, Bennie and Joone, the usual suspects, planet of the apes, the godfather, alive, stir crazy, airplane, leaving las vegas, taxi driver, raiders of the lost arc, toy story, fantasia, i'm gonna get you sucka, scary movie, my mom is a serial killer. That's just to name a few i could go on and on but i would say vanilla sky is up there.
  19. I am thinking about upgrading my klipsh's to better klipsch's. And i was wondering what would be the next in line with out breaking the bank. I have the sf-2 and i look at the new rf 25, but they don't play as low as my speakers. I want a stand alone speaker even though i have a sub now. Which by the way it's been awhile since i posted anything i went with a mirage ms 12 sub instead of klipsch just because i got it basically brand new for two hundred dollars on audiogon. Another thing is i traded the sony in and went with the entry onkyo. It is weird having that clean of a sound for that little of a price. I miss the weight and scale of the sony which could of been a coloration of bloated bass but that was nice. Except the high's were tizzy. Now it is clear as a bell with oversized guts high current amps and frame and beam construction. Purchased this for 185 at ecost. It arrived with a bad right channel. I sent it to a repair center and got it back and wow for 65 watts and how clean the power is it was worth the wait. Dts neo is a nice touch and in my opinion is much better than that reverby dolby prologic two. The only bummer is know preamp out for seperate amp. Which i tried with the old sony with an audio source two amp and it sounded awesome, but i wanted something that sounded good without all that equipment. Oh and the sub sounds awesome on movies i watched dreamcatcher and when that bomb went off it felt like someone set off dynamite in the basement. I am waiting on good surrounds because i don't know which upgrade i am doing. Mayby i should keep well enough alone and get the matching surrounds then i would be in business. Sorry about this huge post but i wanted you all to know what was going on. I got to get my system done so i can consentrate on my guitar playing and my guitar rig.I just love music neither one of them will ever be done. I was looking at the rf 35 and the rf 3twos and the rf 15. Check out zakk wylde's new dvd black label society boozed, broozed and broken-boned. Brutal later
  20. Wow to name a few led zeppelin, metallica kill em all with out a doubt had great impact on me, black sabbath, ccr, tom petty, pearl jam ten they do not have the chemistry anymore, ac/dc (bon scott) oih!, Jimi hendrex, love the yardbirds, iam sure i would name some jazz but i dont have any and i don't know any off the top of my head. But when i hear jazz through my klipsch's i am in awe when it is played on the radio. Can not forget guns and roses appetite for destruction, tesla mechanical renosance. I would say metallica kill em all hands down. If it would be favorate album it would be different but it is favorite debut. Their are so many bands that are good like the beatles, elton john, accept, stevie ray vaughn, america, the guess who, rolling stones, chris cornell is outstanding but none of his debuts qualify for best. Let's not forget hank williams senior, waylon jennings, elvis presly, eric johnson, joe satriani, the tragically hip, a killer debut is big wreck in loving memory of. Lynrd skynrd debut is close to the top. zztopp oh yeah! Metallica wins in the long run with zep a close behind.
  21. Yeah i was going to order it then i looked up speaker selector boxes. I couldn't believe the prices. Then i thought step up to the avr 325 which would'nt be a steal of a deal like the 225. Then come to find out it won't fit in my entertainment center. I am getting two demensions on it though one from crutchfield and one from harman kardon. I seen a denon 1603 for 179 dollars , but don't know if that would have enough high current for me.They rate their 6ohm capabilities at 1k, and they rate their receivers 2 channels driven. I know this because i talked to one of their technical advisors for a good hour. They have awesome technical support.hk has great support to they always email me immediately. The denon advisor told me if a receiver has an impedance switch on the back of it. Then it is not high current. That makes my current sony non high current.
  22. Yeah the rw 12 is what i'am going to save up for. I just don't know whether to save for that first or get klipsch surrounds or get the hk 225 receiver. I have know idea if that receiver would be an upgrade thoughk, but anyhow iam going to save and get the rw 12. I figure it'll move the amout of air im looking for without it being to overwelming visually. Those cambridges are like having two little portable radios for surrounds. They definetly got to go some day. They are quite diffused though. But anyhow thanks for your guys opinions on the subs. I like the looks of the rw 12, and im sure it will fill my room with good klipsch sound.
  23. Here's the specs on my audio power. With 8ohm loads, both channels driven, from 20-20,000hz;rated 100 watts per channel minimum rms power, with no more than 0.09% total harmonic distortion from 250 milliwatts to rated output. I know it's a sony but it's a descent sony.
  24. I was wondering if this was a good deal at 250 dollars. This includes shipping but it is a refurbished model and their is no returning if i do not like it. You can return it if it is damage. I do not no if this would be an upgrade from what i have. I like the preamp out on my receiver so i can upgrade amps, and a and b mains. Although i could get a niles speaker selector box. I am on a extremely tight budget so i would have to hold on the sub for a while. Which wouldn't bother me if i was to get a cleaner richer warmer sound in stereo.
  25. Go with the sf-2 definetly. They seriously rock out and if you dont have a sub its the next best thing. They will play pretty well you can hear every string intrument with awesome detail. As for tipping over my brother just went through the same ordeal he got rid of his bookshelf and stands for towers. He was worried that a speaker would fall on his kids head. I have a nephew that tells everyone about these speakers saying they will rock out more than fifteen inch woofer tower speakers he has heard. I just laugh and he says what kind of speakers are they again (klipsch man)!
