  1. Guys, These speakers may still be available. I have been talking to the seller (just an hour ago) and had an opportunity, but just can't spare the next couple of days out of work. He really wants a quick deal on these. So if someone can move quickly with cash and get them out of his house in the next day or two, and guarantee that, you might still be able to acquire them. The seller seems like a really nice person but wants a fast deal. At this point arrangements for payment and later pickup are unacceptable.
  2. I get great bass with all my Scott integrateds. From the little 222 to the the LK-72. On the LK-72 I have a negative curve on my EQ knocking the bass down some. If you aren't getting good bass response on your vintage tube integrated consider giving Craig at NosValves a call. That will be the end of that problem.
  3. Yeah, Available after the 15th, but from where? Isn't the guy in Germany or something like that? I agree, for $70.00 I would just try them. BUt I couldn't wait and instead I tried the EHs. The more I listen to them and fine tune the equipment, the more I'm starting to like them.
  4. I have been looking at the JJ 7591s now for awhile and am awaiting some reviews myself. I just bought some EH 7591 monster size valves last week. I am not that impressed. They were an improvement but just a slight one. Plus they bump into my trannies cause they are giant amazon size tubes . Can you offer some comments on the EHs? I just got them and I'd appreciate any reviews. Does anyone know if the JJs are much better? Thanks
  5. I hate to move in on anyone's deal, really. None of this stuff is THAT important to me with the equipment I already have. It's just like I said, not too many deals like this in the south. I appreciate the kindness. I emailed the guy, we'll see what happpens. They are not going to last and are probably already gone.
  6. Horn Hogger Not too many deals like this show up in the south. Let me know if this is not an absolute possibility for you. As far as I'm concerned I will leave work instantly and go get these for that money. I paid more for my LaScalas.
  7. You will never get corn or Khorn bass out of a heresy but there are a couple of simple things you can do to maximize what it is able to produce, and I don't think you will need a subwoofer. First, get them sitting solid on the floor, off of any risers or shelf. Next, try putting them in corners. That will definitely give more bass. They are small and manueverable. You should take advantage of that and play with placement within the corners to maximize the bass. Clear out the corners of junk, furniture, etc. and give them room to develop their sound. Finally, and many forum members don't like this one, but it works for me is to use a GOOD EQ and touch up the bottom end. You can certainly make heresys more than acceptable in the bass area. Have fun.
  8. I have my tube tuner and Tube amps in racks. But I'm basically doing the same as Gary. Adjusted shelves for several inches of clearance between, installed rubber feet to lift chassis off shelves. I do not use any cabinets, all valves exposed. I also have a ceiling fan that generally runs for normal room air circulation. And of course down here is Georgia, the AC is usually always on anyhow
  9. Istari, Congrats on the nice 222. I have always said that even though it has the least power of any of my amps, it is the best sounding. The others all sound great too, but there is something that always brings me back to the 222. I'm sure it kicks butt on the Khorns.
  10. Brad, Nice post, nice strategy. I would consider a temporary trade so we could each try the others out in our homes. I never had any other Klipsch beside Heritage. I wouldn't trade out the biggees, but I'd REALLY like to try some 30s in my basement. Now I'm talkin' a standoff trade in the driveway. NO funny stuff. You bring 1-pair of the KLF-30s, I'll have the Heresys on the porch. If everything looks clean, We can swap 'em out for a week or two. Let me know, sounds interesting.
  11. Brad, I guess you will read this tonight sometime I suppose. I never thought about offering a trade. If you want my Heresys, I'll take a pair of the KLF-30s. My son wouldn't complain about that one bit. Just give me a call.
  12. Brad, Glad to have had you and your son visit and hear the equipment. Although it was short, I enjoyed the visit and conversation. You guys are a nice family and are certainly welcome back anytime. Obviously, the hersesys made an impression. Looks like we have another Heritage convert situation. It shouldn't be too hard to find someone who will want your KLF-30s. Good luck with the HT adventure.
  13. I think that we are what PWK called the "acid rock freaks" back then. I wonder what he would call us now. I'm still an an acid rock freak sometimes.
  14. It looks more Atlanta area Klipsch folks are reading this thread. Anyone interested is setting up a get together, go ahead and email me. I don't check the PMs very often. Thanks
  15. So there's two....Hmm. Are they BIG gals? How'd you pull that off anyhow, gettin' a date with both? You know, it's not gonna be the music...you have other issues. I'd just play what ever YOU like and BE CAREFUL.
  16. Ed/Red/Par, Looks like we might be able to coordinate a little Klipsch listening party. For now I will email Red. If you other guys are interested, please email me. I have my 3 2 Ch. systems set up and running in 3 different rooms, 2 are really large rooms on different floors. So they can all play at once and you can go from room to room to hear the different speakers and amps. We could also do some outdoor testing which most people don't do, but definitely shows the strong points of a pair of LaScalas.
  17. Gary, Glad to see you are giving the Dead some air time.
  18. Guys, I'm just over in Athens. You can see my list of equipment below. Just let me know if I can help.
  19. Welcome to the forum, and back to Klipsch. You came to the right place. Most folks in the 2 Ch. forum are Heritage owners and prefer tube equipment. There is alot of info transferred here. So read on and enjoy. That being said, with the room you discuss please consider some large Heritage models such as the Cornwalls, LaScalas or Khorns. There are alot of Ebay fans here and many find great deals on older Heritage speakers that way. With a little patience you should find what you require.
  20. OK Mr. memory wizard, what was the first song you played on them?
  21. This one is right up there with the story of the resurrected Belles that won the Klipsch story contest. I still don't believe it Gary you lucky SOB !!! Honestly though, for a generous guy who didn't know any of us, his choice couldn't have been better. Funny how those things work. Geez Gary, you could have at least remembered their names. I know you are probably still in shock though. I hope you enjoy them for many years to come buddy.
  22. Holy Toledo Gary, Well it couldn't happen to nicer more audio dedicated guy. Congrats. I'm sure you'll be getting some first class well treated horns. Obviously they had sentimental value for them to be given away like that. I guess I missed the posts where you picked up the extra corns too. I thought you only had the zebras.
  23. I appreciate the helpful info. This is not going to be as easy as I thought. The speakers are in fine shape and only the finish needs touching up. It's pretty much a case of matching. Thanks again.
  24. Craig, I just think that it is most important for any new forum folks to get the information from firsthand users and to learn who can be trusted around here. When I joined up last year it was posts like I just made above that helped me understand these points, and make some of the smartest purchases I ever made in audio. And yes, all this will cost you.
