  1. DD EX is a 6.1 formatt. Why does DD EX state 5.1 intead of 6.1 like DTS ES states? I think it may be due to DD not being a true 6 discrete channels like DTS but being a matrixed 6th channel.
  2. Yes Dr. Who..I was wanting to say leave one set(assuming it has already been phased correctly) and then adjust the second sub accordingly.
  3. Yes it's a very good way to use two subs. The only setting you may have to adjust is the phase setting on one of the subs. set one to 0 and adjust the other until it produces the most base. The phase control helps the two subs for cancelling out their sound waves.
  4. If a bright room is what you have then either a plasma or CRT direct view are your two best choices.
  5. You have officially contracted upgradeitis. For temporary relief you must purchase one new speaker. Go for the RC-7. for $400 it's a steal.
  6. ED televison can display at 480p resolution. HD Television can display up to 720p/1080i resolution. Basically it's the differnce between watching a DVD in progressive mode on a HD display or watching true High Definition. There is a huge difference.
  7. And a third vote for DirecTV..had mine for 11 years and plan on another 11 years.
  8. Ok I'll go over to the other camp. I did not care for the movie. The ending was reminiscing of Signs. The basement sceen was way too long. And tom cruise was a puss. Oh and the son showing up at the end..right. Save your money and go see Batman.
  9. Another thing besides the warrenty is you don't know if they are real "Klipsch" speakers or imitations or are they factory rejects.

    Which Next?

    I second Shane's advice.
  11. Even though I am a big Yamaha fan I would take the used Denon 3803 over the new Yamaha RV. If you were debating between new Denons and Yamahas at the same price level it may be different depending upon models.
  12. So which one is the chicken and which one is the egg ?
  13. It's the same way Blose sells there plastic. (Ignorant consumers)
  14. The scratch is something you have to determine if you can live with it. Being Demo's is not a problem to me. It's not like the speakers are going to wear out like a car. Just check them out to make sure nothing is wrong. $1,100 is a good deal.
  15. No matter which way you place it angle the center at the seating position. If your within two feet of your main speaker height then you are fine.
  16. Yamaha, I looked and listen to many in the $700-$800 price range and am very happy with it.
  17. JTA said it correct. The best plasma has a better PQ then the best DLP or LCD. However, for value nothing can beat a DPL.
  18. One advantage blockbuster online has is you get two rentals a month from their store.
  19. No I don't think you do. I mean you need to have DirecTV service, but not say HD service or TIVO service for you to watch total choice programming. Now as you expect to use/get HD and TIVO programming/use you need to subscribe to those additional services. I would get the HD box and at least use it to decode the off-air HD signal and get regular sat. signal.
  20. Any Wal-Mart carries Kiwi mink oil.

    The Aviator

Terrible...Terrible...Terrible. Oh did I mention I thought the movie was terrible.

  23. In his original question, he asks which sounds better on a 5.1 system DD5.1 or DTS6.1. I hope he realizes you cannot play DTS6.1 on a 5.1 receiver and get the back channel.
  24. Then I would hook it to both rear terminals at your receiver If the manual does not state.
  25. Exacltly, good movie and cool special effects, however, CT is a little better. Not bad though.
