  1. Well bad service would also dive me away at most places. Fortunately the Blockbuster by me is pleasent to be in.
  2. In addition, there are more movies comming out in 6.1 which is described as DD-EX and DTS-ES. The DTS-ES is a true 6 discrete channel along with a LFE (0.1). A lot of the Blockbuster movies (i.e. Spiderman, Lord of the Rings, etc) are in 6.1 format.

You don't have to wait to the Snail mail to deliver. I typically get about 15-20 DVD's per month which ends up to be $1.25 per movie.

    THX Certified

The best reason to buy a THX certified receiver, wires and speaker is when you have ignorant people over at your house to watch a movie and they comment how good it sounds, you just tell them there listening to a movie in THX and not in the cheap Dolby Digital or DTS.
  5. Nicholt1, you didn't think the 'Big' corporation with his henchmen with gun was not original? Or that the "environmentalist" tracker would hit it off with the Preditor unexpected? Cammron would have never thought of that.
  6. Watched it last night. Good movie, even my wife liked it. Comes in DTS and you can select an extended version all on the same disk. Don't exacly know how much it extends the movie was only 100 minutes. If you like Alien and Preditor movies you will like AVP. It does add more to the story of the beginning when the preditors came to earth and why. B+

    RF5 v RF35

While they look very close on paper(specs) there is nothing like first hand compairison other have described.

It doesn't seem like it would. ---------------- It probabley doe snot matter, but I would put them on the same set just in case.
  9. I don't think so either. Most warranties are vaild for North America. Now if the warranty exclusions in Canada are different then in the USA it may change a little. Like warranty exclusion in some states. I wouldn't worry too much about it unless you are having a problem with a speaker.
  10. As far as your display. If your thinking about DLP's the Samsung DLP's are very good choice.
  11. No it does not matter. Like D-Man stated just make sure + to + and - to - on the same set.
  12. One of the main reasons to have a sub with hometheater is for the explosions. In order to get that effect where it slams your body you would have to turn the volume up on the rest of your system where it would be impossible to listen. A sub lets you perfectly blend into your system and then have it's own power supply to kick in to dig deep. Until you buy a sub it's very difficult to explain what your missing in movies.
  13. It got nominated for a Razza award. My wife liked it but I didn't. As far a comic book movies I thought it was the worst.
  14. Did anyone see it at the theaters? Just woundering if it will be a dissapointment.

Boommac...I agree with your assesment on both movies.
  16. ---------------- On 1/25/2005 3:26:07 PM streyle wrote: Is there a way for me to figure out the actual MSRP for the subs? ---------------- Yes...it's there asking price I would typically look at 20% discount. Yes the more you buy the easier it is to get the discount. Stick to your guns and let them know that's what you will pay right now. If not tell them who else you will be dealing with. Alot also depends on the salesmen. A young newbie may not have the string yet to deal. Look for a old timer or manager to deal with. If you bounght other speaker form a salemen still there remined him.
  17. The problem you will run into will be upgradeitis. Your RB-25's will be on the auction block. No I don't think it's bad to use a 35 center with 25 mains. If you feel it is a little over powering just cut the gain back on the center speaker. I'm in the camp that get (within reason) the best center you can.

    Cellular

It probably was started by him or his manager. Now that I think about it I'm going to start to call myself the 'New' Mel Gibson if I get in to the movies.
  19. I'm renting it tonight. It can't be all that bad. Not like Catwomen.
  20. ---------------- On 1/25/2005 11:23:07 AM mike52 wrote: Reccomendations on receivers in the $500 range? ---------------- I don't know necessarily if any $500 receiver will satisfy your 'brightness" except a good subwoofer. But I would go to a audio store and try differnet receivers with your type speakers and see what sounds the best to you. Then make sure they have a good return policy and try it at home and see if it is what your looking for.
  21. One thing to keep in mind if you find something that will auto turn on or if you get a new subwoofer with a auto-on feature is the signal strength from your TV. A lot of subs required a decent signal to auto turn on. Your TV as well as many may not provide the signal to turn them on. I know in my case the Sunfire sub turns on very quickly where as the Klipsch takes a stronger signal before it comes to life.
  22. Good choice. The cannons are one of the best rated.
  23. Yes "The Clapper" Just have your family be carefull when they clap for something on TV the sub will come on and off many times. No I really have not heard of anything for the SW subs.
  24. The RB-25,35 are FRONT ported. The 15 and 10's are rear firing. So to answer the question 1. Yes they can be mounted on the wall. They we designed to allow for this. 2. Ideally they should be at the same distance from the listening position but give or take a couple of feet will be ok. Just adjust the distance on your reciever. In terms of "brightness" it is your receiver. Can you adjust the bass responce on your receiver?
  25. The Air today weighs less then it did a few years ago. I think it's due to global warming.
