  1. I hope everyone didn't already see this.. but I find it very funny/true. Enjoy. How many forum members does it takes to change a light bulb? 1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed 14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently 7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs 1 to move it to the Lighting section 2 to argue then move it to the Electricals section 7 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs 5 to flame the spell checkers 3 to correct spelling/grammar flames 6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ... another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid 2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp" 15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct 19 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb forum 11 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum 36 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty 7 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs 4 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's 3 to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group 13 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, and add "Me too" 5 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy 4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?" 13 to say "do a Google search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs" 1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again.
  2. Thanks everyone for your replys. The KRK's that I listened to were self powered.. but for both it would end up costing around $900.. which is pretty expensive I think? For $900 what are some good bookshelves and/or floorstanders and an amp? Would I be better off with the monitors or a amp/klipsch speakers? Again, thanks for your replies and I hope to hear more.
  3. The other day, I went down to the nearest Guitar Center with my friend to purchase a White Les Paul Custom. While we were there, we were roaming around the store when I came across the recording section. I noticed all of the home studio monitors hooked up to an Apple desktop. They had a recording program with recordings already loaded. I played various recordings.. from rock to jazz and these home studio monitors that the computer was hooked up to were the best sounding speakers I have ever heard. The sound was.. beautiful. Now, let me tell you some information first. I have never heard any high end audio speaker before in my life, unless you count damaged Syngery series speakers hooked up incorrectly at the local Best Buy. I own RSX series satallite speakers and they sound incredible.. I can't imagine what high end Klipsch speakers would sound like. Anyway, the home studio monitors probably sounded so good to me because: a) I have never heard any high end audio speaker before, so these are pretty much the closest I have heard to them. The recordings on the computer were EXTREME high quality.. I'm talking filesizes were in the gigs. Now, I'll post a link to the monitors I am talking about and all you audio experts let me know if these are even any good compared to some high end speakers out there. http://www.krksys.com/v3/vseries2_v8.asp If these are somewhat decent, I wouldn't mind picking up a pair of these to hook up to my computer and listen to music on. Also, I hope somebody could shed some light into the practicality of using Home Studio monitors for music listening. Would it be better just to get an amp and bookshelf speakers? Or just get the self powered monitors? I was looking around on the internet and I came across these other monitors which look alot better then the KRK that I have heard. Below are the links. M-Audio Studio Monitors = http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=home/search/detail/base_pid/603702/ Dynaudio studio monitor = http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=rec/search/detail/base_pid/605002/ Behringer Studio monitor = http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=rec/search/detail/base_pid/600603/ I am sorry if any of this post didn't make sense or if there are a lot of spelling and gramatical errors.. I am posting this on a Sunday morning at 5am and I didn't go to sleep yet. Anyway, Thanks for reading this and please give me any information you have on this or anything related to this. Thanks.

Today I went to Ovaition A/V in lexington with the intentions of getting either some subs for my car or some SF-1 or SF-2's. Well fiance thought the subs would be more of a toy for me than for the both of us so I ended up getting speakers. However the salesman showed me some new speakers and those are the RF-15's. These little bad boys sound good. Anyhoo My question now? How hell are you supposed to hook these up now? Come on 4 inputs on the back of the speakers? Do you go from 1 terminal to the next or is that what that gold bridge is for? Or do you go from the top to the bottom or vise versa? My system now composes of the following: TV:Toshiba Model: 32HF73 Reciever: Pioneer VSX-D810S Pioeneer DVD Player 434 Samsung HDTV SAT RECIEVER 4 Quintets KSW-12 Sub KSC-C1 Center RF-15's Thanks in advanced Picture included ---------------- How much did you get them for? How good do they sound?
  9. I still h8 u 007...completing ur RSX system before me...although I don't have a camara so I wouldn't be able to show it off anyway..haha. I wanna get the 5's so bad... how much better are they then the 4's?
  10. 007, so far I didn't have any problems with the RSX's being unbalanced. Where are u buying them from? Oh yea...damn u! U completed ur RSX system b4 me! All I need are my 2 5's....*sigh*
  11. Ok, I thought my ISP was being gay or something...cuz this forum is SLOW. Damn Norton..he screws up everything.
  12. How much for the KLF-20's only?
  13. Good point guys. Next concert ill bring a pair =). Still though..I cant get over how LOUD it was...how much air subs can move..wow.
  14. Holy Shiat! I just got back from an Incubus concert. I was front row in General Admission. There were 12 18 inch woofers directly in front of me. My hair blew back everytime the bass drum was hit. No lie. It owned. Although, now, I have a permenant ringing in my ears, it was worth it. Being 5 feet away from Incbus was awesome. Although, it probably cut about 20 years off my hearing lol. It was so cool...iv'e never felt so much bass in my life.
  15. They're heavy metal im pretty sure. Yea, they are pretty good.
  16. Yes, I know. Slipknot's actual first album was Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat. and their style was totally differnt. Yes, I like Korn's new cd alot better then their old ones. Espically the bass..it just sounds so amazing.
  17. I didn't get their second cd yet, is it any good?
  18. Skonopa, I too listen to some power metal and such. Wow, that's pretty cool, I'd love to crank those RF-7's up and just headbang until I pass out hahaha. schwock5, I enjoy a variety of music. Nu-Metal, Metalcore, Metal, Heavy Metal, Emo, Screemo, Nu-Emo, etc. I agree, most band's old stuff does kick ***. Such as In Flames and Boy Sets Fire. Alot of European bands are getting picked up by labels quickly which is both good and bad. My cd collection is around 300 cds all from various generas of Metal, Emo, etc. Unforuntantly, I think Nu-Metal is turning into pop..bands such as Linkin Park, Trapt, Three Days Grace, etc. Older Nu-Metal bands such as Slipknot are dying, they might not even make a 3rd cd, which is a shame IMO. Although, VOL 3 the subliminal verses was their best. Anyway, yeah keep the comments commin!
  19. Just curious if anyone on these forums likes nu-metal, emo, or a related genra. If so, what's ur fav band and so on? What kinda system do u listen to ur music on? Man..I could only imagine listenin to my fav band (System of a Down) on a pair of RF-7's or khorns..I'd die lol. Anyway, just curious..and bored lol. =P
  20. Hmmm, It seems that the rattling is gone now. I figured I'd give them a couple days w/o playing them at really loud volumes and now they're fine at any volume for any song. Thanks for ur help guys. It was greatly appreciated.
  21. More pics! Can u show us pics of the setups and inside Klipsch and stuff..that'd be awesome.
  22. My Uncle is the manager at the Regal Cinemas where I live. I know they don't use Klipsch, but I don't know what they use. I'm gonna go see this weekend, he takes me upstarts where the projectors are and everything, so I'd like to see what they use to power the speakers and so forth. I'll convince him to get Klipsch haha.
  23. Can we see a pic of ur center?
