  1. Model: g213-GLOSS SKU: 96237 Cabinet Finish: High-Gloss Black US Retail Price: $11,000.00
  2. pccables.com has really inexpensive s-video cable. About 4 years ago i spent 15$ on 75ft of it. Still works fine today. You may want to check them out. s-video is still an analog format for video. 480p, so as long as you are not trying to improve the image quality at all it could still work out
  3. That could be the problem, although I've never had any of my klipsch products off of my MP7000SS conditioner.
  4. I believe the number around 400. They closed 16 of their stores in the Toledo, OH area in 2006. Funny thing is, Family Video opened about 15 stores in that very same region. I do think more and more people are utilizing netflix, but there are a great number of stores that have about the same selection of movies/games as BB does at about 1/2 the price. I think that is what is killing them the most.
  5. I was reading somewhere that for Blu-Ray, they will have a 5 free movies through MIR just like Toshiba's with HD-DVD. I also think it may be good with a PS3 purchase too I have not chosen either or just yet, although I did bite on a Price Error for the Matrix Trilogy on HD-DVD (20$) Posted on AVS by Cane Dewey via Neogaf Movie Choices (you can only pick ONE movie per category) Category 1: The Guardian, Pearl Harbor, Invincible, Chicken Little Category 2: Corpse bride, Phantom of the opera, Blazing Saddles Category 3: Stealth, Resident Evil 2, Underworld Evolution, Stir of Echoes Category 4: The Italian Job, Black Rain, Babel, Devil's Rejects Category 5: Kiss of the Dragon, Omen 666, The Transporter 2, Species, Hart's War, The Last Waltz
  6. I was reading on avsforums and they were saying that since the oppo 981 has DCDi, it is not compatable with 20% of todays plasmas due to macroblocking. I just purchased a Panasonic 50" Plasma TH-50PX600U. So I quess this 981 would not be a good option for me? I have about 700 SD movies and would like to have a decent upconvert dvd player. Any recommendations? I've been reading that the Toshiba A2 would be good upconvert plus it is an HD player. Please advise....
  7. The model I was mainly looking at was the OPPO DV-981HD. I recently just purchased a 50' Plasma TV, no its not 1080p, I didn't feel like it was worth it considering the cost. I watch movies probably 3-5 times weekly and was just wondering is there a noticable difference in SD movies on regular players vs. SD movies on these OPPOs? Any input is gladly accepted and appreciated.
  8. I just received mine in the mail today. I ordered when Circuit City has a price error online for the HD-DVD Trilogy. I got mine for 20$ All I need now is an HD-DVD player, which I am borrowing a friends this weekend. My new plasma comes in mid nextweek. I can't wait!
  9. So when you connect the speakers directly to your soundcard, bypassing the Digital Decoder, it all sounds fine? I know you said you know it is not your speakers, but it could be the sound card. My old roommate had one of those optical cables that was well insulated, in other words, It appeared to make a clean connection but you had to position the optical wire in just the right spot, otherwise it sounded like a record was constantly being scratched very loudly. So, as long as you know the speakers are fine, the soundcard is fine. Try connecting your ipod or cdplayer into one of the stereo inputs on the back of the digital decoder using regular dual RCA to 3.5mm adaptor. Try that, and if that is fine, then you know your Digital Decoder is ok. It sounds to me that the problem is the optical cable. So I'd probably start there. hopefully this helps -Eric
  10. Im glad to hear that because I am ordering the HD package through Dish Network once my new plasma is delivered!
  11. antennaweb.org will be able to tell you how close stations are to you
  12. So, buying a tv (Plasma) that has a native resolution of 1366x768 would only display native 720p sources in 1280x720? Thus, having some black/grayish boxes around the actual picture? Or would it scale the 720p image to the actual screen size of 1366x768. I've been looking around for a decent 50" plasma and I am about to get one within the next few weeks. 50" is a must, <$2k. I will be using Dish Network with an indoor Terk amplified HDTV antenna for local HD channels. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882145017 Is it worth it to get the HD antenna separate from the 5$ extra/month for adding it to the Dish Network package? Is there any advantages of Direct TV vs. Dish Network? I do not see any local retailers selling/promoting Dish Network.
  13. I thought that 1080i produced a higher resolution than 720p. Progressive scan will have a sharper and more clear image in fast paced scenes. At least what is what I had got out of the difference in 1080i vs 720p.
  14. This is an old topic, but it only seems to be loud when I am playing any Call of Duty game.
  15. I personally do not have one, a friend does. I've watched movies in it and they do look really nice. I am not sure if the HD drive for the 360 upconverts normal DVDs to 720p, I doubt it does. Also no HDMI for it. Plus with the new xbox 360 'Elite' it does not support HDMI 1.3, so no DD+. I think it is worth it for the price. Although at Circuit City this week You can get a Toshiba HDA2 it is $400.00 plus 50$ MIR through toshiba http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Toshiba-HD-DVD-Player-HDA2/sem/rpsm/oid/169466/catOid/-12872/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do 50$ MIR form: http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Toshiba-HD-DVD-Player-HDA2/sem/rpsm/oid/169466/catOid/-12872/rpem/ccd/RebateDetails.do?oid=178034 5 Free HD DVDs by mail form: http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Toshiba-HD-DVD-Player-HDA2/sem/rpsm/oid/169466/catOid/-12872/rpem/ccd/RebateDetails.do?oid=177362 Plus you get 4 free HD DVDs movies for purchase of an HD drive this week. See the Circuit City add for more details. http://circuitcity.shoplocal.com/circuitcity/Default.aspx?action=browsepagesingle&storeid=2397392&rapid=380923&pagenumber=15 Also in the add this week
  16. Plasma's have the potential to burn in, which can be irreversible. Plasma TV's of about 50inches are insanely expensive for 1080p models (which may not be that important to you, but others with Blu-Ray, HD-DVD or a video game system that supports 1080p.) You can get a very nice 50" plasma for $2k if you are just looking for a monitor. Plasma TV's are more expensive naturally because they do include a tuner. But since you are either looking for a front projector or plasma tv, it seems like you are not really worried about a TV tuner. For projectors I have found this website helpful: http://www.plasmacity.com/PROJECTOR/PROJECTOR-REVIEW.htm
  17. I just saw that Panasonic is releasing new plasma models in piano black finish. PX75U, PX77U, and the PZ700U (their first 1080p plasma at 50") . I went through each one of their operating menus and it looks like they all eliminated PC connectivity and their cablecard slot, from the PX600U series. They just made the displays in piano black with an antiglare coating, put a new remote (still is not illuminated) and added Ez Sync HDAVI control on it (seems it only works when you have everything connected via HDMI). It would be nice to see them turn their PX600U model into piano black.
  18. O really? Yea, there is no digital video pin there just digital audio. All video is in an analog form. Unless they plan on using some of the unused pins, but I think that would require an overhaul to the motherboard. I was going off this guide: http://dwl.xbox-scene.com/tutorial/Xbox_360-HandC-V1_4.pdf []
  19. Anyone think it is worth it to pay more and purchase their TV at a local retailer vs. online?
  20. The F-3's (Synergy) might be the way to go. If you can get them at that price, it is a steal.

I would love to hear it in a Klipsch theater! Well the movie is still out in theaters. We will probably see it out on DVD within 3-4 months I am guessing. Movie was great though!
  22. MAS, I was just referring to the HDD Accessory that will be available for purchase Just like this one: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x/xbox360harddrive/default.htm I don't want to start an arguement here, but I wouldn't expect M$ to sell much 120gig HDDs.
  23. $179 is completely unreasonable, even if installation was included. I know BB charges like $50+ to install a program for you, but installing an HD for the 360 is just as simple as pushing a button to release the old one and snapping in the new one. If someone who already has the premium 360 wants to upgrade their harddrive they are paying 579$ plus tax. Might as well buy a ps3 and get a blu-ray drive. You can newegg a 200GB HD for 60$. I think everyone understands how new things come out prices drop etc., but charging that much money is pretty rediculous. llama.com has a few mods to add an HD through SATA or USB. I am just saying it is definately not worth the purchase of 120gigs at 179$, hell you can buy a 150GB raptor at that price.
  24. I preordered my copy from FamilyVideo.com. $79.99 plus $0.99 shipping. http://shop.famvid.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=268495&source=gl For new members, or newly registered ones, type NEWMEM5F for 5$ off their first purchase. They also have a few nice deals on Blu-Ray and HD-DVDs
