  1. Just a note - I work for the GAP (clothing store, you may have heard of it ), our "slogan" this past christmas season was "Give it, Get it." Subtle huh?
  2. Do you mean I the KSW-15? What is wrong with the grill? Do you have an asking price?

The retail price you are quoting is MSRP. You would be a fool to pay that. It's like a cars MRSP do you pay that? Best thing to do is check prices on line and take that to dealers saying that's what you will pay..9 times out of ten they will take it. Do price research before you shop and NEVER pay MSRP. ---------------- Easy now... Of course I wouldn't pay retail. I bought my rf-25's for $650 or just over 81% of retail. I'll restate my question. Do you think that you could get the RC-35 for 62% of retail. That sounds like to much of a discount to me. The RB-35's sound more reasonable at just under 20% off.

  5. Nice "racks" guys. I'm not sure how they compare to Janet Jacksons, but I like them regardless! Hehehe
  6. Oh, I was under the impression that it was only your friends store.
  7. Just curious - which Tweeter location?
  8. I have heard some rumblings that the RC-25's and RC-35's have had some quailty issues recently. I don't know anything more than that but... could it be a bum unit?
  9. Nothing to exciting. I am a student at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb Illinois, so... NIU - also Northern's mascot is the Huskie (dog). Not very exciting. PS. Wish me luck on finals. One down three to go.
  10. ---------------- I can't comment on the intelligence of the 2 gals visiting Arkansas for a month. But I have to wonder -- America condemns them because they don't relate to the lives of most Americans (and classify them as stupid), yet can most Americans relate to THEIR lives? I mean, if they've lived all their lives with incredible wealth, why SHOULD they know about the things they are ridiculed for being ignorant of (which admittedly are things not typically encountered by wealthy people)? Couldn't they justifiably ridicule us for not knowing about the stores THEY frequent, and what their daily lives are like? For me, if I never set foot in a Wal-Mart my life will be that much better. I just think its a position worth considering... -------------- Dougdrake, Thank you for a well thought out and accurate argument. My only problem with it is the fact that those girls put themselves on national television - in the public eye. I don't think that we can judge their background and upbringing (It's just to foreign to most of us.) But they we can question their reasons for being on the show.
  11. I suggest taking a drive to American TV in Rockford. American is a large store focusing on home theater and home furnishings. It deals with large volume and is more than willing to bargain. I purchased my RF-25s there and recived $150 off the purchase price (almost 20%,) and think that I could have gotten a little more off if I had pushed. I dont have my salesmens name in front of me but they were all very helpful. A very enjoyable experience, and I plan on completing my system there.
  12. ---------------- Have you considered building one yourself? If you have only basic woodworking knowledge, you can follow the advise of someone here or follow online plans using Adire Audio drivers. You'll get a far better price/performance ratio this way. With ~$300-350 in parts to build a vented Tempest you can similar performance capabilities of an SVS CS Ultra with will cost well over $1k when you add an amp ---------------- Where can I find the the onlime plans for the Tempast that you mentioned? I haven't heard anything about this before, but I would be interested in building my own sub. TKS.
  13. Ear, you have brick and concrete, I have 2x4's and wafer thin plaster... I hate my life.
  14. Check out "Home Theater" mag - it's the November issue I think. If I remember correctly it has a review of the RB-75's, RC-7, RS-7 and a RSW-12 (not sure if that's the corect sub.) Got a pretty good review.
  15. I have had my speaker equipment for about two weeks now and have already received three noise violations. This is ridiculous. The first I considered reasonable - It was on the first day that I had all the equipment together and was putting it all to the test. The second two violations however - completely unwarranted! I was listening to music at a volume that I would listen to if I had a number of people over socializing background noise. I I dont know what. Ugh. Im just so frustrated sorry all, I just had to vent.
  16. ---------------- Why are Tuesday's the day new DVD and CD's released? Why not Monday and or everyday of the week? Anyone know? ---------------- I wonder if it has something to do with the shipping methods of the big retailers - Walmart, Target, ect?
  17. I would like if someone could clear something up for me. I am under the impression that surrounds (like the rs-25) should be placed to the sides of the listening position. Is this correct? Should they be placed directly on the wall or on a speaker stand? Could they be placed behind the listening position?
  18. Have the people who don't have any subs write a thesis on why they should be the one to get a sub, and then you donate a couple to a few winners. Moon and Ear, My 40 page thesis is just about complete, I'll mail it early next week. In the mean time, why don't you just go ahead and ship me the sub of your choice. Thanks Ear. My address is........ !!!
  19. "In Song..." All I want for Christmas is a RF-35... a RF-35... a RF-35
  20. Scooterdog, Thats very cool. During high school and for four years before I started college I worked for a residential construction company doing trim work. I think someday I would like to build something like you have... until then I think that I'll save for a RF-35
  21. Whoo Hoo... Everyone take a deep breath.
  22. ---------------- Heck, why not just build your own center. I built mine for about 400 bucks and it will knock the socks of an acadamy and is a 3 way design. Let me know I have all kinds of build photo's ---------------- Curious, did you build the enclosure yourself?
  23. ---------------- I have not seen the animatrix, was it good? ---------------- I rented it for the first time last night. It wasn't great, wasn't bad. I don't suggest buying it, but I do suggest renting it.
