  1. I love listening to Opera's by Handel, he is by far my favorite Baroque composer. It has elements of his chamber music such as the Concerto Grosso's mixed with wonderful soprano and baritone voices makes it a treat to listen to. Such as suddenly they are singing a slow somber aria and then suddenly it bursts into a fast paced concerto grosso in Allegro and the baritone just belts out a tune that is just sublime. Opera's such as Julius Ceasar, Xerxes, Ariodante, Messiah, Semele, Almira, Hercules, etc....

What I mean is 3D sound floating in front of you, sounding like it is not coming from a speaker. That is magical and sometimes the RF-7's would do that with my cheap Denon Player and AMP. I have never witnessed the above experience with my Forte's using the same old Denon setup. ---------------- Yup, happens all the time with my Dynaco Mark III amps in Triode mode Why did you get rid of the RF-7s?

Do you think they are the same sounding as the Chorus? ---------------- I once owned a set of RF-7's and I did compair them with my Forte's. The RF-7's produced better imaging and more natural midrange sound than the Forte's. But the Forte's seemed to have better bass defenition. ---------------- Nice, That is why I have the best of both worlds, Dean G's updated crossovers and a Klipsch RSW-15 sub filling out the bottom octaves

Not as natural sounding as more current state of the art speakers are. ---------------- Aviserated, What about the RF-7s? Do you think they are the same sounding as the Chorus?
  5. Are these going to be as good as my "organ" amps
  6. Just wait till you get your hands on the Peach and Craig's VRD monoblocs!!! You will jump for joy, your Cornwalls will come alive
  7. What sort of thread is this, all this talk about "Organs" and "Peckers"
  8. I can attest to Craig's work! So far he has rebuilt the following amps for me. 1. Pair of dynaco Mark III amps, completely redone (my current amps) 2. Scott 299-C completely rebuilt. (Bro's main amp) 3. Scott 99-D mono amp with rebuild (center channel amp) 4. Scott 99-D mono amp with rebuild (Bro's center channel amp) 5. Scott 340B reciever. (sold)
  9. Honestly, If I was you i would buy all three of those tube types and try each one of them out on my amp and see which one was better, that way you are not short changing yourself and you can say you tried all three and pick the best of the three.
  10. Definatly get those RF-7's some quality Tube amplification ASAP!!!! Your ears and your speakers will love you for it My brother has a completely rebuilt Scott 299-C done by NOSValves and it sounds very very nice, clean low end bass, smooth highs, good soundstage from his KG 5.5 speakers with Dean G's modified crossovers. I use a pair of Rebuilt Dynaco Mark III's rebuilt also by NOSValves with my RF-7's that sport Dean G's Modified crossovers and they sound superb, I run a Klipsch RSW-15 sub for the low notes and I have a RC-7 for the center being fed by a NOSValve's rebuilt Scott 99-D mono tube amp for movies and concert DVD's that utilize a center channel.

My room is small, I'm 12 feet back, and only 10 watts separates the QUADs from the VAC. Still, I'm sure to lose the slam the QUADs gave me. What I should get in return is a near perfect midrange, a smoother top end, and better soundstaging.---------------- Come on Dean it's not a smoother top end its a ................... http://forums.klipsch.com/idealbb/images/smilies/2.gif"> Besides by the time you get the VAC you won't remember what the Quad's sounded like anyway LOL !!!! ---------------- Well, my Dynaco's seem to have a very smooth and clean top end, not harsh at all! I wonder how the 300B will sound compared to my KT-88's in Triode?

  15. Hi Dean, Have you ever considered running a pair of KT-88 Based amps in Triode mode? I have my Dynaco's running Valve Art KT-88's in triode and they sound wonderful. Plenty of juice, heck more juice than Ill ever need on my RF-7's and they flat out jam on Rock, Jazz, classical. Very clean bottom end, smooth highs and clear and wide soundstage

BTW a very good guitarist! ---------------- Sweet, he is definatly an awesome guitarist, the boy can really work that axe!!!
  18. Some very good guitar suggestions would be George Lynch ESP special, he was an excellent guitarist for Dokken at one time. Check out Dokken's greatest hits cd, it features lots of songs with George Lynch shredding up the guitar, sweet solo's, killers riffs and licks. Dream Warriors is one of my personal favorite song's on there. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00000JFUB/qid=1102708678/sr=2-2/ref=pd_ka_b_2_2/102-6501450-3009741 Here are some pics of his guitars

  20. Get the Valve Art KT-88, very very nice KT-88 tube bar none!!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=7275&item=2292923990&rd=1
  21. CF-4's are monsters!!!! 2 x 12" subs and a 2" tweeter, wieghing about 120 lbs a piece.
  22. Im glad you like your crossover Thebes, Dean really does a great job with these components that are oh so often overlooked and make a huge impact towards the overall sound quality, Like they always say, start at the speaker and go from there. If you can get the speaker the best it can be then you are ahead of the game.
  23. They are going to be a very nice speaker system for your son, for the price you cannot beat the sound that these multimedia Klipsch produce. I have used the Klipsch Promedia 5.1 in my computer system in the past and they were an excellent sounding system with Movies, music, and for the newer games that have surround capabilities
  24. I use the Valve Art KT-88's that Craig at NOSValves recommended in my Dynaco Mark III's, these tubes have very smooth highs, nice low end as well and mid range is clear and smooth. I bought a Quad for $80
