  1. That's very much the way I see it as well. While I have more than one digital source it's still not enough in my opinion to warrant a complete overhaul of my current configuration.
  2. That definitely sounds like a prob with your provider. Call them up and have a tech look at it; they'll want to charge you but say you'll cancel and they'll do it for free. They've come out to my house 4 times and I'll be a monkey's uncle if I'm going to pay for a service visit on a system that's supposed to work in the first place. How dumb do they think we are???
  3. Then you had a bad connection in the right side. Left or right won't make a difference...unless there's a defect as I noted. And no, you don't need a Y-adaptor.
  4. I packed my dorm with females
  5. Actually the 16-46+ is capable of deeper than 16 and the RSW-15 I'd more realistically quote closer to 25. The output of the 15 will be greater but the 16-46 will be audibly more capable at the subsonic. If you have material with lots of near to subsonic info then you'll hear the difference.
  6. One small 10" sub for $600 to fill a large den with 10' ceilings? Not going to happen. You'll need to be more specific when you say "fill" a room. What are your goals? You say reference towers, what is your system profile? What are your listening habbits? Movies? Music? Moderate volume or earthquake style?
  7. I have no doubt on lots of occasions I'll squeeze every last drop out of my 900W amp, but I like being blown away just as much as I like a glass of wine with Tschikovski. Just like an F-350; need it to regularly haul freight or scale 6 foot snow drifts?......of course not. Can afford it so peace of mind means having it there just in case?......very much so.
  8. Really? And why is that? [8-)] If you're going to give advice around here, please give good advice. Easy now. That's why we have forums; to combat ignorance and stupidity across the galaxy wherever we may encounter it!!! (echo, echo echo) Just kidding.
  9. Voltage regulator, capacitors and power supply fuse 86'ed? I don't know why a Klipsch amp would suffer that kind of damage without an external force. Is your power conditioner made by Black Cat or are you the first circuit on your power company's grid? OR.... Is your design firm looking for any fault except possibly of their own? [*-)]
  10. Still a weird list. So many that should be on it, so many that shouldn't.
  11. Just cut each free end an 8th to 16th too long and the router becomes the great equalizer! Praise be to Porter Cable!
  12. You could probaly get $100 bucks out of it depending on its condition. It all depends on the market and your "ability to market" it on eBay.
  13. I'd set my sights on something other than the KSW-12. A lot of midbass boom boom but no lows and a bit muddy.
  14. When you say for your room do you mean that you live with your parents? Isn't 4 18's kind of pointless in that situation? I guess I'd allow my son to own something like that but never allow him to utilize them in the way they were meant! Unless he wanted to donate them to the family home theater []
  15. Not a volume knob, it's karoke. You have to check your manual to see which one yours came with.
  16. Now that's just mean. You know if he can't read a manual then he can't read the words on the side of his sub. Have some compassion.
  17. Don't take it too personally. You just bumped into the boldest member of the crowd. "Bring it! You want some? Huh, do ya? Then bring it!" I think that's what they say nowadays.
  18. I was suggesting multiple driver subs or more than one single driver sub. Do a quick search around this topic and you'll find oodles of brand + prices. You can check my sig for the one I'm happy with but it's one of only many out there.
  19. Aren't those contradictions? Please say you sell washers and dryers, not electronics! [H] Just kidding!!!
  20. \ Matching timbre isn't essential as your hearing isn't as accute to these low frequencies as it is to those 100Hz and up. I mix synergy and reference, too. But it's up to your ears and what you plan to use your sub for. It sounds like you're primarily music so the sub 12 is a decent option; in general you'll get what you pay for. Depending on how loud you listen (the 1700 and 82's are a fairly potent combo) you may want more sub than the 12 will offer.
  21. And his goal is to be just that in both[]
  22. I don't have either brand, JL or SVS. I have an RSW15. So what could I possibly have "sour grapes" about? Maybe that I have neither. [] If anything, you're the one who sounds a bit "sour" about all the attention the JL gets, and obviously biased toward the SVS product; any SVS product. [] You've not heard it yet, or read any reviews, yet you're certain it will best the JL. I didn't consider that to be a bash of the SVS product. I simply think the JL will have more finesse than the SVS. Sometimes finesse isn't necessarily what you want. A defensive lineman and a wide receiver can both be stellar athletes, but they both serve a different purpose. (yes, I realize this is not the best analogy.) We'll have to wait until the dust settles and see what the reviews say when the "13" becomes available. LOL CAS is a bit partial to SVS... [] Me I could care less,I get what I want to to the job,and now building better subs than JL or SVS for massive output down deep. When you start using 15 and 18" ubber drivers you forget about less capable subs. [] Not dual f113 are not capable...just as a few members here who own them and Roc... [] Can tell you they kick major woofer. In other news... ... By the end of this year I will have ALL the TC Sounds dually subs...from TC-1000,2000,3000,5200 to the LMS-5400. TheEAR takes no prisoners. And I will also add another f112 and get dual f110's. HA POWAH all in a tiny...600cu ft by then room....the more I add the more it shrinks... Nobody has the subsonic concentration I have and when I am done I will by far have the most subsonic capabvility on this planet...per cubic inch in a room! Go baby, Go.!!!! Don't stop.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Roc, you're the biggest Ear fan I've ever seen! Holy cow. By the way, small size isn't an advantage...quite the opposite.
