  1. elusive disc is advertising a special on epos for about that amount; i seem to recall that they got good press considering their size. with Klipsch you are probably looking at a pair of KG-4's that are pretty clean, but you may have to up the ante to cover the shipping. oh yeah, maybe i have a spare set . . .
  2. So, I am still a bit unclear. Since we are all "best friends" of Michael, does that mean when we order new CW's we get the special "friendsofcolterphoto" pricing?? . . . . . and is that the same as a discount, or is our "special" pricing gonna be above MSRP ????? We love ya mikey. congrats.
  3. wonder what happened to the right rear tail light on the blue truck ? ya know, in the big picture of things, guess my spouse isn't such a bad driver after all . . . . . . . and none of us have much to complain about . . . . and if he was in there listening to vinyl, it sure skipped a few grooves.
  4. i gotta agree with coytee. Look on the right edge of photo and you will see the cripples and header to which the aluminum garage door was attached pre-impact.
  5. Hey Sputs, nice ride! Try to keep all your bones attached in the OEM fashion. Good luck!
  6. Michael, Don't make me come down there and smack you. I know you were in Geography class that day, because I remember Sister Mary Holy Water throwing that eraser at you!! Yes, as in OHIO. Not as in "holy toledo". PS. Following your lead i got a D200 , with the 18-200 VR lens; now if you can just train my "eye" I will be all set.
  7. Best place to live? wherever you find yourself, as it is all a journey. Enjoy where you are AND particularly with whom you find yourself. I think it is, to a large degree, dependent upon being with the ones we love (spouses, kids, etc) and our attitude. Yeah, I know, some places are nicer than others, and we can try them all for awhile, but if you aren't happy with yourself and those you choose to be with, it doesn't really matter where you are, 'cause ya ain't gonna be happy. Trite to say, but alot of it comes from within us. . ... gotta get off my frickin soapbox, sorry, i'll just wander off . . .
  8. Remember the old adage . . . . . . " if it seems too good to be true . . . . ." The links to Amazon and One call each say (each) . . . . . otherwise we would all be ordering.
  9. Hello all, I am out in Calif but have a buddy in Toledo who is looking for speakers. I suggested he listen to some of the Heritage line such as the Cornwalls (maybe even the 3's) or Forte II's. He is a good guy, and just as much an audio nut as some of the rest of us. If you would be willing to let him come over some weekend to listen to the Cornwall/Forte, please send me an email and I will put you in touch. Thanks kindly, Patrick
  10. Allan, thanks for the head's up on this place. I bookmarked it, but unfortunately I will be in San Francisco that weekend visiting my son at college. Otherwise I'd be there for the music and the chance to meet you. Patrick
  11. Fritz, that is a rimfire cartridge, so it will sound quite different than a larger caliber cartridge with a center charge to be hit by a firing pin. Lower "kick" in the sound and, probably less audible bass . . . . . . .. but can't really say until you start rolling cartridges . . . .
  12. Sputs, I think that is it, but I mostly remember the rythym and those few phrases. So, my friend, who sung it? I remeber listening to it when I was going to law school in paris during the summer of 77 . .( .i think) , but that is as far as my memory will take me. Good to hear from you.
  13. back in the mid to late 70's there was a song that had a line "if you're so vicious, why don't you swallow a razorblade" or maybe "why don't you go swallow a razorblade if you are so vicious" i used to think it was Dire Straits or maybe Lou Reed, but i can't seem to find it. Any of you with better memories (mental capacity, that is) help me out here???? thanks, Patrick
  14. Paul, ya gotta be kidding! We can listen or we can type. If you type well, and don't eat much, I will feed you while you come type a list of my albums . . . . . which are north of 1,000 at this point.
  15. SPUTS, way too funny!!!!!! Reminds me of Sister Mary Holywater in (Catholic) grade school: she was telling the boys in 7th or 8th grade that they would go blind if they played with themselves. One young lad in the back asked if he could just do it until he needed glasses? Gosh, maybe she was right . . . . . . . . . could that explain why so many of us here wear glasses . . . .
  16. WHAT MESS ???? I think they call it "shabby chic" . . . . very trendy . . .
  17. coytee, i will buy both at your price. please email or pm me for payment and shipping details, etc. thanks, patrick
  18. thanks dtel. Hello to your better half and the family. patrick
  19. Rolling on the floor laughing my butt off !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Clu, maybe i have been making wrong assumptions these past several years, but i didn't sense you came equipped that way . . . . . but whadda i know. . . . loved the title, enjoy.
  20. HEY, i thought they said you were in Hong Kong, not king kongish in endowments . . . .. Back to the topic at hand, I am sure bigger can be better, but how do i decide if my living room is better suited to a 43 incher than a 50? My concern that a sitting distance of approx 8 or 9 feet in a 16x18 room may make me turn my head (or eyes darting side to side) too much if i go 50. Any (informed) thoughts??
  21. heck , just send him some for free------consider them loaned out for good advertisement purposes------ besides, he needs to get back to listening to the music . . . . . . can't think of a better recipient for the vrd's. p.s. deano, if craig goes for this, then you owe me some xovers!
  22. Lisa, have you considered just getting yourself some Bose?????????????????????????
