  1. I recently bought a pair of these, but being the tard I am I fogot to check the surrounds on the 10" woofers. They got rotted out and there is like no repair service in central Wisconsin that I know of. Any ideas what drivers can take the place of the ones that are damanged and would come close.
  2. Well I read an article about the K-Horn and saw that there was a minimum distance that the speaker should be from the corner for coloration reasons or something. It just got me thinking.
  3. Honestly Wisconsin might seem like a sh*thole, but the scenenry is amazing up here. It's very quite just about anywhere, and there is lots of beer.
  4. I use NoviiRemote on my old Palm M500. It's backlit and has a touchscreen and owns all. I just wish I could chance the layout of the buttons. Oh well, it was free.
  5. Now I know how to corner load and all, but for obsession's sake, what are the ideal distances from the walls?
  6. Too lazy to look up how to post pics again, so I attached it.
  7. Ok, to be brief, a pre-amp is exactly what its name suggests. Its a small amplifier for the imcomming signals. It increases a signals strenght so that the amplifier stage has a nice strong healthy signal. I'm sure other people will be a bit more technical with it, but it's still the same idea. You would need one when the incomming signal is weak, like a mic or phono. Most receivers have these built in for the inputs labeled mic and phono.
  8. I can't play it since I refuse to use Internet Explorer. Stupid Microsoft owned sites...
  9. Because I'm sure this has much better DACs than onboard sound of a laptop. It will increase the sound quality of your laptop. Thats the whole purpose of a sound card vs. onboard.
  10. I'll look into it. Seems a little higher in price than I wanted to pay. (Still working on buying a bike for touring this summer...)
  11. Hey I was wondering what you all thought about this: http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F007%5F004%5F002%5F000&product%5Fid=31%2D5038 It's just gonna be driving a pair of SB-1s off my computer, so it isn't a big deal if it isn't the best sound possible.
  12. I'm perfectly happy with my old P3 1ghz. It runs any program, with the exception of some games, and will play any DVD or audio file as well as the fastest computer made.
  13. Not saying I'm into the illegal kind of downloading... LimeWire is nice, but a little cpu hogggy for a P2P program. Ares Galaxy has been a favorite of mine for a long time. KazaaLite or K-Lite is a decent program, but is losing users on it's network because of the RIAA.
  14. I guess I'll fill up the Hard Rock genre with some Disturbed. Their lyrics aren't always PG but they have a singer (David Draiman) with a unique voice. Hard Rock, "The Sickness" Disturbed, Compact Disc
  15. I'm sure it will be an included feature in the Play Station 7.
  16. Well the thing is it gets like 1 post a month down there and it isn't up to date with current cards...
  17. Ok, here's the deal. My Audigy got returned to its true owner after like a year in my posession, and my other sound card is being used by my roomate. So I'm looking for something musical and I'm not to worried about cpu utilization. Surround would be nice but it isn't absolutely required.
  18. You gotta remember that just because a spyware remover doesn't get rid of a piece of spyware doesn't mean it didn't detect it. It may be a piece of software that a program will not work without, and therefor the spyware remover didn't remove it.
  19. Yeah... Gay 56k! Sorry for the double post.
  20. Actually I'm willing to bet that the DS has more horse than a PII 233, and the PSP probably benches about a P3-733
  21. I live in Neillsville, WI. My dad isn't gonna go 120 miles out of his way to go to Circuit City... It will be powering 2 SB1s for now, stuff will be added eventually, as will a better receiver.
