  1. Bling like that will surely give you a neck ache!
  2. I've heard the vacuum cleaner tool will pull the dent out. Can't hurt to try
  3. Those look great. What method do you use to glue the veneer, heat set or contact cement?
  4. Greg, could you post a pic of that K43 showing the speaker surround up close? I bought a pair for a project and the speaker surrounds don't have the normal painted finish (shiny material) on them. These are almost translucent or opaque looking. Just wondering if this was normal or not. I'll put a picture up showing what I am talking about. Gordon
  5. Where have I been? Who woke me up? No I haven't done anything with the K43, just looking for a replacement or two K33s Rumpelstiltskin[|-)]
  6. Those look great. [D][D] Do you think the switch to the flammable cement made the difference or bringing everything inside?
  7. I purchased the JVC pro model HD-P61R1U from Tiger Direct in January. They had them on sale for $1,899 I believe with free shipping. Living in FL I had to pay taxes which brought the delivered price to right at 2 grand. This is my first big screen and I'm satisfied with the set. You will not get as good a quality in analogue as a regular set because the big screen's resolution. But man the HD will blow you away. I've stopped watching almost anything but HD channels now. What really burns me up though is that our cable company can't get FOX in HD because they say FOX is owned by Direct TV and won't negotiate a deal with Cox cable. I do recieve the other three networks in HD. Hhttp://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=618408&page=117&pp=30ere's a forum link you may want to view. It covers the JVC's and other sets. This set is 1080p display so it upgrades the signal. It won't accept 1080p though. Everything I've read though is that for the distance your viewing and the sceen size you won't see the difference. Tiger is sold out again but they may get more so you may watch their site or search for one on the net. Good luck, It's tough making the decision; it was for me but I'm happy with what I got. gk
  8. A little rain here this morning and now it's cleared up. Check out the view here![ip] Think I'll have two tonight.[D][D] http://www.destinpasslive.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=29&Itemid=44
  9. Watch that inside outside stuff. Changes in humidity will cause you trouble. I did my glueing outside and after attaching moved the speaker back inside to try and maintain a stable humidity level. If you're working in the garage with that glue don't forget that a gas appliance like a water heater or dryer can ignite the fumes. A house burned not to long ago because someone was painting cabinets in the closed garage and the water heater set off the fumes. Could make for a bad day! [D]
  10. Good stuff. Be sure to use it in a well ventilated area or you're going to get a buzzz![D]
  11. What are you planning on using for glue? Heat set or contact cement? I've used both methods and had splits with both types. Course I was using a non backed veneer too.
  12. Can't wait to see the finished product.[D][D]
  13. It's about time someone posted another rehab project. You're off to a good start. Keep the pics coming.[D]
  14. 25 lbs? send me a picture of that beast. Bass Pro would have paid $$$$ for that girl to put in their tank
  15. thanks, what's (MWM)? So the K43 could be used in a horn loaded system like the lascala, jubilee or Klipschorn over the K33? By the way, how much did it Weigh? I'm guessing 12lb
  16. Help me out here I'm no audio engineer. How would you characterize the term clean and articulate? Would these require more power to effectuate the same sound level hence more distortion from the speaker? If these handle more power then are they less efficient than the K33?
  17. What I was referring to was this statement you made, "it sounds great I can not tell the difference between it and a CD". I agree. I only use my ipod connected through the T amp and it's pleasuralble to me. Now understand, my hearing is probably worse than anyone else's on this forum so I make that statement to qualify my opinion for those of you who choose to read this not to criticize another persons auditory capacity. I have not listened to the ipod through any other means of amplification. By the way I turn the Ipod volume up to just shy of full volume, then adjust the T amp volume from there. [D]
  18. I use my nano regularly for two channel in the bedroom with a Sonic T amp and a pair of heresys and frankly I think the sound quality is good. Now maybe your audiophile ears can hear better than mine but for the flexibility afforded and the cost it's a great deal.
  19. I need a project. Anyone have a good suggestion on what to do with four new K-43 woofers? Can you build a pair of Jubilee's or four Khorns?
  20. They did and those are even harder to find than the heresy. Hope all this has convinced you to keep em together.[D]
  21. Those indeed are original decorators. The cutouts are painted just dusty. These in my humble opinion are the best looking of the heresy line and seem to be fetching a nice price these days. I'd refinish these and replace the drivers and upgrade the crossovers. Parting them out would be a shame. If you don't want them I'll take em off your hands. A little elbow grease will turn them into something like this
  22. No one seems to have any interest in reconing K22 woofers. They say you can replace them cheaper than recone. I've got several pair with torn cones laying around that I would try reconing if I could find the parts. If the cabinets are decorator, flush fronts without grills someone may take them otherwise it's almost cost prohibitive to sell empty cabinets and pay shipping. Of course you can always replace the woofers and refinish the cabinets and have yourself a nice pair of Klipsch Heresys![D]
  23. I'd stay away from those, they're in terrible condition. Probably been abused all their lives. May not even work. Find another pair to bid on.[D]
  24. Would someone mind opining on the K-43 as well? Aren't these similar except for wattage?
  25. $65 for the K43 is a good price. They have the K45 and 48 as well.
