  1. Keep my wife away from those outlets! She has to stop every time we go past there (on the way to Hollister). Lucky its only a couple times a year. One thing I do love about the area is GARLIC! Oh the delicious garlic!!
  2. Well I liked this thread, it had real potential. Although I do think the Chops speaker could have used another horn somewhere near ear level, not ceiling (or attic) level.
  3. Ohhh, theres gonna be a rumble in SL!
  4. Fini, how do you get your SIGNATURE so LARGE??? Its huge man! Ive gotten maybe 2 emails a month. Maybe... Lately I've been getting tons of virus emails. 6ish a day. My wife gets about 15/day. I just use a POP mailbox scanner to browse my email subjects and look for files that size (from peps I have no idea wtf they are) and delete them from my isp's server so I dont have to download em. Couldnt live without it anymore.
  5. I have a group of friends (mostly couples) who have had a weekly "friends" night every thursday for the past 6 or 7 years (too damn long in reality ). We alternate friends houses every week and that couple or person cooks dinner and dessert for our group. So every 6 or so weeks I(me and the mrs) have to cook for 12-14 people plus our groups growing cache of kids (10 kids ages 18mo to 12 years). The other 5 weeks I get to eat at someone elses house. Even during repeat times we do this and, FINALLY, while I love the show, it will be over! The only thing is, Im sure the ladies in our group wont let us stop I actually brought some more people into the "friends" group last year as some of our singles got married to eachother and shortened the rotation. We were down to each of us cooking once a month which gets to be a pain for so large of group. Oh well, enough rambling, this week is our "friends" night and we're gonna have a full house, though we told them we're not cooking. They are gonna get pizza as we dont want to worry about prep/ cooking/ clean up and end up missing parts the final episode. My wife is to thank for that idea Score: Me= 1522, Wife= 1 Good job honey!
  6. Will you drive em to Oregon? Didnt think so
  7. I'd take em Moon, but I think all my mad money is tied up in a couple vegas bachelor parties this year
  8. I visited one near Portland Oregon a few months ago. Nice Projection HD showroom but no Klipsch. I do remember some high end gear there though.
  9. Found this in another thread: mU-metal http://www.goodfellow.com/csp/active/static/A/NI03.HTML
  10. I seem to remember something about using a piece of thick steel between the 2 helping shield against magnetic fields. 1/4" or so thick. Only bad thing is the weight (~10#/ft). If you cant find any good solutions, I can snag a piece of heavy steel from my business and move my sub near the tv and test it.
  11. You'll most likely need wire for the speakers. Might want to also have a few spare RCA interconnects (even cheapies) just in case.
  12. You using any special paint (dont see a screen there)? Also wondering if there should be some sort of light absorbion barrier around the picture to stop reflection onto the ceiling (was noticing that on the bright scenes, but it might be hard to do short of painting/ treating the ceiling to make it dark/ nonreflective). I've always wanted a projection system but have never had a good area to take advantage of it. The picture size is making me drool. Must...buy...new house with bigger HT room...
  13. Following the links to the website (and the white papers) shows $99 each. Wonder if I were to lay down and put them on my back while the music was playing, would they transfer the energy to my back and relieve my aches. Could be another use for them! Multipurpose for 1 low price!! Someone let me know...
  14. I'd wouldnt mind a laptop, but I prefer building my own computer and laptops arnt anywhere near as user friendly when it comes to building/ upgrading.
  15. I see Mt. Shasta out of my window, well actually today its a bit overcast so no mountain for me.
  16. Where you guys living that your wire turns green? Guess Im lucky (or unlucky for my allergies) living in a very dry climate. And though I humidify my house, I've never seen any of my wires oxidize.
  17. Im wondering if anyone has rebuilt an Academy crossover (Dean?) and the results. My Forte II's are currently disassembled and their xovers on the road to him now
  18. Dean, check your PM for something else. Doug
  19. Staying on the off topic: Also, dont the countries with nationalized health care have high taxes to pay for it? Im remembering hearing something of some country with 50-60% tax rate (europe area).
  20. Ditto with the sub hum. A work-around is to use a 3prong to 2prong adaptor and eliminate the ground from the subs plug-in receptical. Fixed mine.
  21. Depending on the size of the tape, Heating/ A/C shops (larger ones) use it or can order it. Some of the new duct tapes (no cloth allowed in them) are a butyl rubber and are 3" wide with an aluminum coating on one side (100' long rolls). Again, HVAC shops carry these (most should). You can go to Grainger and search for butyl tapes and find these, though you need an acct to buy from them I think. The HVAC shops should also be able to order 3/4" or 1" wide rolls too of a different butyl. Im pretty sure I've seen it in some of our suppliers books.
  22. I like DLR as their lead singer, but as a solo he falls short. But Sammy can kick butt (saw him at his bar in Cabo a couple years ago..awesome). Might as well get back on tour, a lot of other bands are still doing it even though they are almost in wheelchairs
  23. Anyone have any ideas how these would work in a HT with Forte II's as mains?
  24. Boy the forte II's are going up in price. After reading the auction, he bought them new plus he listed the specs right off of the klipsch website. So, they SHOULD have all original parts if he never replaced. For the amount spent, dont let him off the hook!
  25. Me wife squirted out a big little girl 7 years ago today. Happy Birthday and Happy St. Patrick's day baby! (her older sister only gets to be a new years eve baby, but hey, I got the full years tax credit for her being born at 11:30 pm )
