  1. i agree with iXtreme... i used to have 2 promedia 2.1 on a 5.1 sound card, the front on the front, rears on rears, setup the sound card to tell it that you use a 4.1 system and it s ready to work!!!
  2. you can test, i think it won t damage neither your speakers or your amp. i don t see why it shouldn t work. but why are you doing this? you want to watch a film in two room at the same time?
  3. with a sensitivity of 102 dB the RF7 speakers could kick your *** with 30W per channel!!! if i were you i ll buy a very good quality amp with about 60 true watt per channel instead a poor quality amp with 250 watt per channels, because i think you will never have to power your rf7 with 250W to obtain a loud and good sound. with my little klipsch with only 94db of sensitivity i only use the half of the power that can deliver my amp,it could deliver 6x65w and when i turn it to the half its really really loud. if you use a 250w per channel amp with your RF7 i hope you ve got strong hears...and a strong house and deaf neighbor!
  4. like you i tasted klipsch with my pc and a 4.2 system made of 2 promedia 2.1, then a promedia 5.1 and i realy got the virus... i m sure you ll get no regret with your promedia 5.1 it a really good system. i hope there s a mistake on your HT description i haven t any seen klipsch product!? welcome
  5. the band who sings "money money money" is ABBA!!!
  6. if not check your pc setup. have you sound on the center channel when you play DVD???
  7. when you listen to mp3 for exemple it s a stereo stream so only front speakers works. but if you play a dvd it will work fine. i ve got a sb audigy 2 and whith a sb software i can heard sound on all channel. the sound of the center channel is very week in this way both with my actual system and the promedia 5.1 i had. get close to your center i m sure you can hear a weak signal...
  8. i use my pc exactly like you will do: connect the digital out of your sound card to the digital in of your av receiver or amp. if you don t have a digital out on your sound card you can connect the main speaker out of your sound card directly on an analog in of your av receveir like cd,tape,aux,... it s not difficult at all.it s done in about five minutes and it sounds very well (if you listen to mp3 watch out the quality of them if it s under 160 you ll heard some noise)
  10. you can try some of the THX traillers like cimaron, tex ex or the simpsons

    setting on sub

to set the phase it s like to set the location of the sub/ the best way to find what matches the best you ll have to test
  12. in my opinion the amp on the sub is going to die.... try to plug your promedias on another device like cd player or a tv.it may me a probleme when using a multi channel source on your soudcard. you can try to play stereo sources on your pc(mp3 or audio cd) and seting your pc speaker to 2 channel on windows... i hope you find the problem,i had promedia (2x2.1 then a 5.1) before i buy my actual system and even these small speakers sounds quite good.
  13. i wish you were right!!! check this if you don trust me... here are some price, there are not the cheapest but it is the site of an official dealer for klipsch in france: http://www.general-radios.com/search/search.asp there only ONE lascalla cost about 5000 euros!!!
  14. oooops sorry i haven t write on the good post...
  15. check this if you don trust me... here are some price, there are not the cheapest but it is the site of an official dealer for klipsch in france: http://www.general-radios.com/search/search.asp there only ONE lascalla cost about 5000 euros!!!
  16. so you don t need the DD5.1... but with the DD5.1 you don t have to run your pc to have multichannel sound... it depends on what you want to do....
  17. in france klipsch are very expensive that s why i only have speakers from the synergy serie. a pair of lascalla cost about 8000euros(about 9000$) and a pair of rf35 about 1400euros( about 1700$) its not fair!!!
  18. thanx William F. Gil McDermott!! users of this forum often forget that klipsch is not only sell in usa. in france klipschs fans cannot easily find revues on klipsch speakers and the few we can find are in english. to d-man: do you know speaker like jm-lab utopia wich are the gratest speakers of the world according to a lot of hi-fi professionnals or triangle, elipson, cabasse, ... all good speakers are not made in america. i hope what you wrote was for fun,the next time you speak about france think a little ps:you should come to france for holydays you will make up your mind on france and its inhabitants last but not least I AM FRENCH!!!!
  19. it s the nick name my girl friend gave me because i m like a teddy bear:strong and gentle at the same time(in france a doudou is the name given by children to their favorite teddy bear)
  20. and there are a lot of lucky people in this forum!
  21. i had the same probleme with my system. set your speakers to large(with speakers from the heritage serie it would be a waste to set them to small) and there should be an option on your amp(it exists on small amp so on yours it must be there) to send bass on your sub and your speakers at the same time. ahhh...if i can listen to heritage serie speakers...especialy some scala,or cornwall... your a lucky man you know!?
  22. if you have a quintet system 6 you can buy 2 SB1,if it is the quintet that you own i think you can find some satellites. i m french and here we can buy a pair of quintet satellites 2 for about 460 euros: check this: http://www.general-radios.com/search/fiche.asp?ref_produit=KL-QUINT-ENC they sell this pair exactly for what you are looking for (i ll try to translate the best way i can): "ideal solution for an upgrade to a 7.1 system from a 5 channel quintet pack with KSW 10 sub" there are also some klipsch a low price on the same site: http://www.general-radios.com/actualites/fiche.asp?id_actu=21 so for about 470 euros you can buy a complete quintet pack or for 400 for a demonstration model.
  23. i m sorry dut i don t know. i think the best solution is to try a DD5.1 in fact the main aim of a sound card isn t to decod DTS or Dolby digital so it may be normal.
  24. you can check the wire from your amp to your sub... may be...
