  1. my first thought is that you will probaly not find a piece of grill cloth that will match. i would rip off the moulding and the grill cloth and start from scratch. if the grill cloth is stapled to the front of the speaker you will have to remove all the staples. you could leave off the grill cloth and just put on a new moulding to hide all the staple holes. watch ebay because a set of grills pop up often.
  2. i read a thread on here where you just cut away the old grill cloth and make a frame out of masonite, put new grill cloth on and your all set. i plan on doing the same thing in the next couple of weeks. the other way to do it is remove all the componets inside and then remove the motor board. i have heard from forum member Good2BHome that the motor board is sealed in some way and you have to remove the 40 year old insulation which might not be a good thing. we will see
  3. i agree with Seadog. on the back of the speaker ( the tail board ) their is a rubber gasket that needs to be sealed into the corner. chair rail has to go!!!
  4. ebay #5752903532 i have never seen these before.
  5. i doubt that klipsch sells the grills anymore. i do know that the heresy and the heresy 2 grills were NOT interchangeable so i'm guessing that the corns were not either. e-mail parts@klipsch.com
  6. i'm guessing the M is for Magnavox. in his book on page 116 he said an early driver was a Magnavox, then we went to Jensen and then to Stephens. after that came EV and then to CTS of Paducah and then Eminence
  7. E is Eminence, KY never seen a post on here about the letter M
  8. P stands for Paducah, KY i have 71, 72 and 76 corns all have the letter P on the woofers
  9. the B stands for Brownsville, Texas CTS of Paducah, Kentucky stands for Chicago Telephone Service
  10. just went to newfoam.com and they have some of the same samples as wendells nu-kane with the same serial numbers.
  11. #5750820866 opening price 75.00 in Oregon

  13. Rick, i sent you an e-mail and it was returned. sending a PM
  14. i can understand where you are coming from, but its hard to come up with a price to sell them here. are you looking for the K-77 or the K-77M. i will keep my eye out for you. i've sold a single 77 for 50 bucks and a single 77M for 100 bucks.
  15. Rick, whats wrong with buying off ebay???? i buy and sell all my stuff on ebay.
  16. whats nice about the mellotone sample is you can see thru it. i don't know how the sound would come thru on the nu-kane, its solid and all samples are almost completely white
  17. I had wendell fabrics send me samples of their cane grill cloth. they sent me 11 samples of their nu-kane and not one of them is even close to klipsch's cane. the closest sample of cane they sent is from the mellotone sample. number MD-4134 and you can view it on their website. i can't find the website of duracrest fabrics but i do have the phone number. going to call them and see what they have. we need to ask greg what he used on his corns. i'll keep you posted.
  18. yea but look at all the fun your having. you got the fever!!! and its going to get worse. you need more and more and more
  19. congrats joe on your new corns. if they were a little closer to home i would have bought them myself. i hope boomac was kidding up there in badgerland
  20. congrats, great score, happy b-day
  21. i sent you a paypal payment. i will let you know what my 2 kids think of it. thanks
  22. Another sidenote- mine have painted on rear UP and ARROWS in red-orange for orientation for horizontal or vertical cabinet placement. Original owner claims they came that way, that her husband did not do that. Does anyone elses have this? my 72 verticals have the arrows showing the word UP with the arrows. tweeters should be on top in either position. Michael, you came within 5 minutes of my house on your return trip of I-74 & I-275. i will try and post some pictures of the Teak for you here or to your e-mail. they blend in well with my honey colored pine trim.

Congrats michael, i agree with everything frznin said about you owning the 3rd oldest pair on the forum. great story. i at least have YOU beat on the most expensive set on the forum. i have a set of 1971 vertical Cornwall 11's reveneered in teak with cane grills in mint condition. buy it now for 1499 and 250 to ship. still had the clear pie shaped logos in plastic bags stapled to the rear board. have no buyers remorse and was completely drunk when i hit the button. listen to them almost everyday.
