If I set it to LFE only, the main channels are cut at the crossover point? This shouldn't be this difficult to understand, but I'm struggling. ---------------- When the LFE+Main setting is selected in the setup menu, the receivers crossover will only be effective when your speakers are set to "small". If your speakers are set to "large", all frequencies, including the LFE signals from DD or DTS sountracks, are simultaneously sent to the "large" speakers and the subwoofer.
  2. My Denon 1082 (3802) works like this.... When only "LFE" is selected in the setup menu, the only signals produced by the subwoofer are LFE (low frequency effects) signals from a Dolby digital or DTS soundtrack, and the low freq. signal range of channels set to "small" in the setup menu. The low freq. signal range of speakers set to "large" is produced from those channels...not the sub. When the "LFE+Mains" setting is selected, the low freq. signal range of channels set to "large" is produced simultaneously from those channels and the subwoofer. I hope this helps.
  3. I guess you saw the Better Cables that SVS sells and decided the price was too high. If so, I would recommend you try an Acoustic Research (AR) digital audio or subwoofer cable. They're all over Ebay and they can be found in most of the chain electronics stores. The prices are very low and the quality is plenty good enough for this application. This is simply my opinion. Others may disagree. By the way.....you're gonna' love your new sub!!!
  4. Where are you (and the speakers) located? Any idea what you want for the Chorus II's?
  5. Hey Bonedoc, Are you the guy from NC with the K-horns for sale? What's up? Having second thoughts about the B&W system you've ordered? My advice is to keep the horns if they fit your room. I've sold both brands. It's been a few years since I've heard B&W's best, but they never had anything that impressed me (for the price) up to the mid 1990's....especially when compared to the big Klipsch systems. Anyway, it's just my opinion based on sound quality only. I realize there are other factors involved when choosing a speaker system. Good luck with whatever you decide to do, but please let us know how things turn out. Someone will be here if you need a shoulder to cry on.
  6. ---------------- If you are going to stack the two subs, there is no benefit of using two subwoofer cables, rather you'd be increasing the risk of picking up RFI/EMI noise. I'd just run one from the receiver and put the Y behind the subs. Obviously if they are placed in different corners, you have no choice but to run two wires. Later... Rob ---------------- Rob, Just curious.....which "Y adaptor" would you recommend that's long enough to reach the inputs on two subs when they're stacked?
  7. Thanks for the help, guys. I'll be sure to try the 9-10pm (eastern) hour on a Sunday and see what happens.
  8. Does anyone here know the when Ebay has the most traffic? In other words.....when is the best day and time for your auction to end?
  9. Here's a good idea....You could buy my 2 pairs of Klipsch RB-5II Reference Series bookshelf speakers, an RC-3II center speaker, and an RW-12 subwoofer for $1300! These are all black and in perfect condition. Purchased new 10/03. List price is at least $2700. Just let me know if you want more info, pictures and/or references.
  10. Same here. Y adaptor out of receiver to 2 subwoofer cables. Each cable is connected to an SVS PC2039PC+. The subs sit side-by-side in the front left corner, behind a Klipsch Chorus speaker. The phase control is set the same on both subs. The results are amazing, especially for movies.
  11. My RW-12 is being used with 2 pairs of RB-5IIs and an RC-3II center channel. This is my second surround system and I just don't have room for it anymore. My main system has Chorus mains, Forte rears, a KLF-C7 center and a pair of SVS PC2039PC+ subs. I also have an older Klipsch powered sub to sell, the SW-12II. It works great but has some scratches on the black cabinet. Just let me know if you're interested or need advice on other subs. ---------------- On 4/28/2004 9:38:58 AM Scp53 wrote: rckpls, I don't I know if im interested in this sub. I just have to ask, why are you selling it? What speakers are you using to play with this sub? ----------------
  12. Hi and welcome to the forum. I just happen to have a Klipsch RW-12 that would be a good match for your speakers. It's in excellent condition. I'm asking $400, and you pay actual shipping cost. Retail is $649 and one sold on Ebay tonight for $422.....just let me know if you have any questions.
  13. Hey guys, don't let people tell you the speakers cannot be shipped safely. I've shipped a lot of speakers across the US and Canada without any of them being damaged. OTOH, I've received some that had been damaged. The difference is in the packing materials and methods used. Just let me know through a PM if you'd like to hear how we pack speakers the size of KG-4s.
  14. Like I said before....the Quartet is a better speaker, but you couldn't go wrong buying KG-4s for $200!
  15. Where are you located. I know of some nice Fortes in Ohio that can be had for less than $500. If that's too much, you might look for some Quartets. I personally prefer them over the KG-4.
  16. The K-10-K woofer comes from the Quartet.
  17. There's just too much stuff around here and we need to get rid of something. We also have 2 pairs of RB-5IIs, an RC-3II and an older Klipsch sub, the SW-12II, that will be offered. I don't really want to sell it all, but some will have to go. I'm asking $400/pr for the RB-5II speakers, the RC-3II is $175, and the SW12II is $400. Buyer picks up or pays actual shipping from 45680. I'm kinda' new to this forum, but I've sold a lot of stuff on Ebay. If you check my feedback there (user name rckpls), you'll see I've earned 1019 positive comments and only one negative..... The neg came a couple of years ago from a bad seller that didn't ship my merchandise.
  18. For sale. Black RW-12 subwoofer. It's less than six months old and is in excellent condition. $425 plus shipping from 45680. Retail price is $649. I posted this on the powered subwoofer forum, but incorrectly identified it as a "KW-12".
  19. The header is wrong. Sorry........I'm selling a black Klipsch RW-12 (not kw-12). It's less than 6 months old and is in excellent condition. $425 plus actual shipping cost from 45680.
  20. I have to sell a pair of RB-5II speakers. These are about six months old and are in excellent condition. There's not a scratch, flaw or blemish anywhere. Includes the original box and packaging, as well as a copy of the original receipt from an authorized dealer. $400 plus actual shipping from 45680. E-mail me at rckpls@yahoo.com, call me at 740-377-9432, or send PM for more info.
  21. I've had two center channel speakers delivered by UPS. An Academy with something heavy bouncing around inside and a KLF-C7 that had a large copper coil broken off the xover. The Academy sounded fine, so the sheild probably fell off the magnet on that one, too. I didn't even check....just returned it and got my whole $250 back.
  22. From what I understand......some spammers are using "web beacons" that tell when someone has opened a message that contains HTML graphics. There are invisible "tags" in the message that send info back to the spammer, letting spammers know the e-mail has been opened and the address is active. It may be a good idea to set your inbox to read messages in "plain text", not HTML.
  23. That's a really good deal. Is there any chance you'll go through southern Ohio on your way to PA.?
