  1. The cause is not well understood. The mechanisms are better understood. Most seem to be triggered by an environmental cause (virus, chemical exposure), but the genetics have to also be in place. It is multiple genes that have to be just right for the trigger.
  2. Missles were sent to Iran, we armed the Contras to overthrow the Sandinistas.
  3. Cranky I have been siting here for some time considering your question, weather to PM or just reply here. It is the Lounge & we are mostly all among friends, so I will do the best I can to describe the story in hopes it my help some one else. My Pat was one of the happiest, loving people you would ever hope to meet. Nothing put a bigger smile on her face then pleasing me & her children & helping anyone in need , giving strangers children food & xmas gifts. She had a true joy for life & was a devoted Christian, still loving me even though I am basically an Agnostic. Her health issues began to appear some 20 years ago, at that time there was no medical test for or any information by the medical field for Fibro Malegia . She saw many doctors, most told her she was just depressed & needed to see a shrink. As the year's (decade) went by Fibro became identified & recognized as a ligament disease. Doctors began giving her Vicodin, Zanex & mussel relaxers (Soma). Then the govt got involved -& she was sent to the type of pain clinics you describe in your earlier post making her feel like a criminal & addict. This had a very negative effect because she was so overly sensitive. Fibro attacks the joint & nerve system, at times her whole arm & shoulder would turn purple with inflammation, little to no sleep for years. Then the Lupus attacked her weakened body-- continuing the downward spiral although never hospitalized... Bottom line is it just grinds you down! She said repeated over the past few years a dog should not have to live like this! She mentioned suicide occasionally, but always said she couldn't take her own life because of her christian beliefs. So I did not ever really believe she would do it, plus she loved her 2 grown children & me so very much & life itself -- but obviously it got to the breaking point. Every day I still ask my self could I have done or said something that would have changed the outcome, & I am sure I will still be asking those questions the rest of my life. As I said a few month ago, hug & tell your loved ones what your heart says as if today was the last day, and in between Enjoy the Music my friends. I am walking the same path. In the last few months, I had a friend that I never thought could have taken his own life, do so. The MS got to be more than he could take. I have RA rather than Lupus, and also Fibromyalgia. My mother died at 65 due to RA and its complications, my children also have autoimmune disorders. I think the worst part is that people look at you and think you don't LOOK sick, so you just must be faking to get meds. Methotrexate and Cymzia are not fun medications to deal with, along with NSAIDs and sulfa derivatives, and on and on. Thanks for sharing Cornman, more people need to know how autoimmune disease affects peoples' lives. It is not just those that have disease, it is all their loved ones and caregivers that have to deal with it. Thoughts of peace of mind to you.
  4. You left out the cocaine and pot from Columbia and Venezuela to sell for the cash to purchase the arms to send to Nicaragua. and that is all I will say, so don't ask how I know it to be true. I never, ever want to re-live that part of my life ever, ever, ever again.
  5. Cocaine and amphetamines have always been used by doctors. I was in healthcare for a lot of years. It is no different than any other profession except for the ease of getting controlled substances.
  6. What does that have to do with drug schedules?
  7. With all this arguing back and forth, wouldn't the best result be to let the docs practice medicine and take care of their patients to the best of their ability? AND, keep all non-science literate people out of crafting the regulations?
  8. When I had an RF ablation in OKC a decade ago, the bill was $214,000. When I got my insurance EOB, the hospital settled for the prearranged rate of $13,898. Those that had no insurance would have had to pay the full amount.
  9. I don't think anyone would argue that opiates were over-prescribed for a long period of time. That was the product of big pharma. Oxycontin has the worst history for money over care of any opiate. http://www.thefix.com/content/oxycontin-cartel-billionaire-family-16th-richest-us-according-forbes We need to look at the real causes of addiction, also. It is not what most think. Look at the research done on vets returning from Vietnam that were "addicted" to heroin. Only 15% continued to use the drug upon returning to the States. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/johann-hari/the-real-cause-of-addicti_b_6506936.html
  10. Sounds like most would have people suffer chronic pain regardless of how chronic pain can destroy people, just to keep them off "drugs". What BS. I have no words for people that enjoy having people suffer from medical conditions just to preserve your precious War on Drugs. Those that believe that would support any type of tyranny to harm people to justify their moral beliefs. I have an incurable disease and take opiates, daily. Those that would rather me suffer and die just to continue the government's war on drugs can kiss my ***. Your taxpayer money would be supporting me instead of me supporting myself if I had no pain relief in order to keep working. I am lucky in that I can't take much opiates without huge waves of nausea, so all I can take is just enough to dull the pain somewhat. I have a hard time understanding the cruelty of those that would deny pain relief to those that are suffering. How inhuman that is. I take injections ever week that affect me a whole lot worse than opiates do. I end up with wasted days due to pain. I can't take enough opiates to kill the pain since I would be zonked out and still couldn't function well. Cannabis would help immensely, but it is illegal in Arkansas. I really, really get upset with all the self-righteous people that think they should be running other peoples lives for them. Talk about Bullshit! This post may get me banned, but try to have a little compassion for those that NEED pain relief. I watched my mother die a very slow death and thinking that she must be exaggerating her pain levels since her illness wasn't externally visible for a couple of decades. With an inherited disease, I now know she wasn't and I was not compassionate enough to help her through those times. This is not aimed at anyone in particular, but at society at large. I can get off my soapbox now.
  11. The "hate our freedoms" doesn't work for me. I see many Christians that are native citizens that hate our freedoms just as much. Just look at FB posts. Most are not out killing people, but they wouldn't mind if someone started killing gays or anyone else that doesn't agree with their take on religion. We have become a country of extremes. I used to drive by Elohim City a lot. Radical Christians with armed guards at the road. Remember OKC? It is not just Muslims we need to be concerned with. Besides, we have very little freedom left in this country. A "War on ___" is the mantra of the politicians. This policy of using government force to bend the population to the will of whatever party is in power is radicalizing our own population. I am just glad I am old enough that I won't have to live in what we are leaving to our children and grandchildren.
  12. I couldn't limit it to five. Most often in my house that you will hear: P!NK Bruno Mars Jethro Tull Gershwin Rolling Stones I love seeing this naked woman dancing through the house to anything with a beat. It starts my mornings off right. For someone that is very modest, she has no qualms going without clothes around the house. A body that puts women 40 years her junior to shame. SOOoooo, good dance music is what keeps this house rockin' and me falling in love with her more everyday! My favorites are anything that gets me the chance to live a dream with this fantastical woman that puts up with me!
  13. I have yet to hear any of those problems. If I want to piss off the neighbors, I use my Klipshorns. I love both systems. I don't crank either system up to extremely loud levels. As for the 802D, I use them more in the near-field range. The only other speakers that I have owned that gave me as much pleasure is the large JBL studio monitors. At one time, I had Belles and JBL 4333a in the same room. If I ever finish all the 60's motorcycles in the garage, then I would build a pair of 4355 and be done.
  14. I planned on running them on my Emotiva amp which is 125wpc @ 8ohm and 200wpc @ 4ohm, that should be sufficient to drive them then.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk You won't be disappointed! I had not planned on buying the 802 Diamonds, but I was offered an unbelievable price. The 802D retail for about $15,000. They are the second pair of B&W I have owned. I was not impressed with my first pair which where the DM-10. I traded them for a pair of Bose 901. I was surprised at how good I could make the Bose sound, but I only kept them a couple of weeks before selling them. The 802D will reveal every flaw on a recording. No one would ever sell a pair of 802D at a price I could afford!Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk That's what I thought, but I got the whole setup for about a third of the cost of the pair of the 802's alone. Divorce sales can be a bargain! Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

  16. I own B&W 802D with matching sub. They are sitting in front of my K-Horns right now. I have the Nautilus center and a pair of B&W 805D for rears. I also have Klipschorns, Belles, La Scala, a couple of Epic series, and on and on. The B&W are amazing. Time-aligned and the bass is astounding. They require a minimum of 50 watts due to the difference in efficiency, but I have driven them with several vintage Sansui pieces. The B&W just sound great. Not that they out perform the Klipschorns (well they do on the top end), but the soundstage blows away the corner horns. They are wonderful, wonderful speakers. Accuracy is astounding. I find them very beautiful and the construction is a work of art. I am in the process of building another sound room to house my Klipsch speakers dedicated to vintage gear and mainly two-channel listening, but the room will be set up for multi-channel as well. Music is on at our place constantly.
  17. Kid Rock at the AMP in Rogers, Arkansas. Last one was Neil Diamond in Dallas. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  18. I wish I could be there when you deliver the gifts!
  19. I use Hostmonster. No problems with speed.
  20. That CBX is gorgeous! Doesn't look much wider than my '92 750 Nighthawk.
  21. As to water reuse: A lot of nut trees are grown in New Mexico with sewer plant effluent as the water source. Wastewater effluent will HAVE to be used as a drinking water source in the very, very near future. Of course, here in Western and NW Arkansas, we are getting tired of all the water falling from the sky!
  22. I will have to take some pics. My phone camera is iffy. Both the Dreams are in the restoration stage. My daily rider is a '92 Honda 750 Nighthawk. I grabbed the Dreams since I was looking for something smaller due to age. Picking up the 160 Scrambler this week, but it needs a complete engine rebuild.
  23. Anyone else into vintage motorcycles? I have a passion for 60's era Honda's. Currently have a 1961 Honda 300 Dream, 1966 Honda 160 Dream, and a 1969 Honda 305 Scrambler. Since my search for better and better sound is down to just trading up for a few pieces, I have put my energy into Honda motorcycle restoration. Not that I am any good at it, I just enjoy playing with them. Much easier than my old love of MGB's which lasted many decades. Sold all my MGB's and now looking for specific motorcycles to rebuild.
