  1. I sent you an email this morning regarding questions on the Jubilee's. Email got bounced. Whatsamatta??? you no pay the bills anymore? Shall I PM it to you? Post office? ...............[sn]
  2. Last night the Wife & I went to Thompson/Bowling arena and saw the Blue Man Group perform their "How to be a Megastar" concert. We've both seen them twice in Vegas (KILLER sound system) and I've also seen them twice in Chicago (not as good sound system as Vegas). The warmup guy sucked in my view. I don't even know what he was purporting to be doing. He played some videos on the large screen with recorded songs. He then had a turntable there and was doing the fingers on the disk, whipping it back/forth like I"ve seen some of these rappers do years ago. I even leaned over to Marion & said..."Didn't that go out back in the 80's??" I found that to be quite boring and an utter waste of time. Then the guys in Blue came out. If you've seen their DVD then you've seen this show. I had been told that they had an entirely NEW show and that simply isn't the case. That is not a criticism at all, just the facts. The show has been changed a bit from the DVD, they even added Floyd's "One of these days". I thought they had a chance to REALLY rip into that piece of music but their stage antics got into the way a bit and I think it was a net detraction from what could have been. The girl singing the song that Venus Hum sang on the DVD did a nice job but boy, that Venus girl can REALLY put it out!!! My vote goes to Venus Hum. They went out and nabbed several audience members. They did the "create a tie/die shirt" with one of them. If you've seen them then you know what I mean. The other one had a very fancy decorated hat. One thing I could not keep out of my mind as I was listening to the show... was the sound. We were origionally on the side of the arena and Marion wanted to move more to the back so we'd have a straight view instead of cranking our heads 90 degrees. The place was probably at 1/3'rd capacity so there were TONS of empty seats...many in sections that were not even up for sale. We moved to the middle of the arena totally opposite side of the stage so we had a straight on view. I leaned over to Marion and asked her how she thought it sounded... "I think your stuff at home sounds better" (it did) [Y] [{][}]
  3. Found mine http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/thread/365869.aspx Seems I was as long winded then as MAS is now...[]
  4. If so, do you know Ron? http://www.saxmpc.com/ I had the pleasure of selling him a preamp I had via ebay. I shipped it to him PRIOR to having a dime from him and he (knowing that I had already shipped it and was happy with a personal check) INSISTED on sending me a postal money order. Subsequent to then, we've talked a bit because the pre wasn't working...seems the "tape 1" button was pushed in instead of "source". Once he figured that mistake out, all was well and he's loving it. Since he's in the world of Saxaphones, I made the comment to him that he probably knows some good cd's of that type. He has since then, called me back and is insisting on sending me some fancy schmancy speaker wire he has as well as some cd's where he has extra copies. [Y] I've never met him but am 200% convinced that he is as quality of an act as anyone. I've read up on his mouthpieces and it seems they get good reports. (I don't play the sax just so you know) I've been trying to intrigue him on Klipsch but it seems he's tickled as a feather with his 2-way (I think he said Advents).
  5. I'm not sure, is that a GOOD thing or a BAD thing? Update: Just got back from walking the dogs on the farm. Message on answering machine, they've already been sold and he didn't say which ones they were. As for being a Mini-Colter... it could have been worse I suppose? I could have been a Buckette?
  6. Well Pa-paw, (I presume that's more acceptable than Bob? [6]) 1. Don't know that they're still available 2. Don't know what they are (Heresy's, Promedias?... Khorns perhaps [] ) If they exist and are Heresy's, then my friend who bought Jay's Heresy's, could either finish out his HT system if they matched or replace it and sell his. It was same friend who showed me the listing. Heck... if they're Heresy's, I might buy them just for kicks... maybe set father in law up with a modest HT system. Might buy them anyway even if they're NOT Heresy's and set FIL up with a small system. I just put the listing up to taunt you into a guessing game as to what they might be. Results will be posted once I know.
  7. TV/Electronics - STEREO equip. 5 Klipsch spkrs, 75W Yamaha amp. $500. ***-***-**** Called today & left my name/number to call back. Anyone care to guess? Gads, I'm turning into a Mini-Colter...[Y]
  8. Dean: Sent you a PM (and no, it doesn't contain naked pictures of my horn)
  9. I've sent some pics of my naked 402 to Playboy... think they'll publish them? []
  10. Given what I saw on the listing, didn't look like a pile of parts? Maybe Fritzie is still suffering from the mesmorizing effect of his BLUE meters??!!! Fritz... I'm going to sacrafice myself for you & help you out... I'll take some of your blue meters off your hands, clearly you're being saturated.
  11. I'd type a response but I'm too busy tipping my hat of respect to you. You make some good points.
  12. Must be sand in that wad... [li] [um]
  13. MAS... please unwad your panties.
  14. I didn't pay $1,500 for some Heresy's, but I DID just pay under $7,000 for one of their larger brothers. The quality is there. I DID hear the H-III's when in Hope last summer and they were awesome however, I must preface that with the fact that it had been 25 years since I'd previously heard a pair. As for those who say the company & dealers are the same 'voice' in essence, I don't agree and I'd ask you this... What if the salesman had said "there happens to be an extra pair at the factory and we can have those to you in two days" he closes the sale takes the money and there is no extra pair. The seller KNOWS he's going to string it out a couple weeks. Is that the factory's fault? Since some think the two are "one", does the factory drop EVERYTHING it's doing to accomodate this at the expense now, of ticking others off? Can the factory be responsible for EVERY word the salesman might say? If it's a repeat pattern, they can drop the store, but that takes several happenings to create a trend. For all we know this was a good retail store with an idiot salesman ("tell them anything they want to hear, to close the sale" kinda guy) I know I'm only responding while hearing 5% of the whole story but I still think thermalup needs to simply relaxxxxxxxxxx. It's going to be okkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk, trust me. Unless the store is STEALING your money (not putting in a bonafide order for your speakers), it's going to be all right and worth it in the end. In my view, the REAL problem stems at the point of sale. How tough would it have been for the salesman to CALL the factory and get a double checked date? I'd bet that Thermalup would have been pleasantly impressed had he seen the salesman talking on the phone to the Klipsch company on his behalf. Thermalup, if you simply can't relax, then get your money back and get another brand. It's a pair of speakers for gosh sake, not open heart surgery on your infant daughter.
  15. Seems no one is going to argue? [6]
  16. Ok, so if I understand you... Let's say the Jubes are 110 1w/meter (I think they're less though) If I wasn't bi-amping, then I could at max 4 ohms, add another 28 db's to that or take them to 138 db/1 meter? Yikes.... their sticker says they can handle 1200 watts (sticker on bass bin)
  17. If a power amp has a rating of: 8 ohms, 400 watts (26 dbw) 4 ohms, 650 watts (28 dbw) 2 ohms, 800 watts (29 dbw) Exactly what does the dbw mean and how is it calculated and all that nice stuff? How is it correlated to ohms or watts? Doesn't look linear to me given what I see.
  18. I'm not familiar with them but as an idea if you end up buying them... you could send them to Terry DeWick for a go through. I'll presume you know who he is.
  19. Is it true that a rolling stone, gathers no MAS? [A]
  20. I understand your thoughts about not worrying about what others might say!
  21. I'd say it's about as plug ugly as the 402, although smaller. I wonder how Parrot explains that reality? lol
  22. Perhaps Dean, but being black inside mine seem to easily show ANY dust that might accumulate inside them. Grills would help either prevent that, or at least hide it. I COULD maybe crank the volume some to blow the dust out but then it would get all over the couch
  23. If you notice the grills on this one, they're a tad different than how grills would go on ours. I wonder if they truncated the last part of the wing on these, to allow the grills to finish it? (notice the triangle) Grills on mine, would be rectangular and fit in front
  24. Oh, and for the record, it would probably be UNDER 7 grand (not that it makes a difference to your point)
