  1. Not sure if there would be much point in pinning it.... Our sharper members probably know where to poke around or take a stab at finding it later...... Another spine tingling post by Marshall.
  2. Amy actually answered my post!!!!! I'm bristling with excitement!!!!
  3. I like that Amy, you're pretty sharp.
  4. Shouldn't the phase be fairly flat due to the drivers and signal being identical and no box?
  5. Carefully push in on a good driver to see how it feels, then push in on the driver with the problem. Do they feel different? On the suspect driver, does the movement feel rough?
  6. You gotta wonder what the respondant was searching for on a speaker forum to see that post and answer to it. Are you really sure you want to know..... It must be a "prickly" subject for the person who posted.... Marshall, you just don't get the "point" I was trying to make.
  7. Sounds like the perfect storm of buying more speakers!
  8. I'm a big fan of Anthem. I have a D2 as the heart of my HT and it has been as flawless and glitch free as you could ever hope a pre-pro to be. In my bedroom I have one of their pre-amp/tuners (TLP-1 I believe) hooked to my Lascalas. They make a great product. (I've never owned one of their amps though[:$].)

  10. OK, let's see if I get this. The drivers are wired for a 4 Ohm load (present a 3 Ohm load) and if the easiest load is at the drivers Fs then the Fs is around 47 Hz. What's the top (red) line represent?
  11. I have a bottle at home and use it from time to time in different dishes. It has a very distinct taste. It's slightly hotter than Tabasco, which doesn't bother me, but I like the flavor of Tabasco a little better.
  12. NICE!!! I love me some hot sauce too. That type of Tabasco looks interesting, I'll have to try some.
  13. Here's another pic as it was going together.
  14. Thanks, it came out pretty nice, sounds great also.
  15. You can spend (alot) more and get a more accurate meter, but thr RS meter is the one that is most widely used for home HT, and the meter SVS recomends and sells. I'ver had great luck with mine along with repeatable results. I even compared it to my engineer friends mega buck meter and it was extremely close. You do have to use a calibration chart when you get to the low stuff however but it's widely available on the web.
  16. Nice!! As with any sub, play around with placement (an SPL meter helps also) and see which location sounds best. Where I place my sub in my room, with regards to wall proximity, may not work well in your room.
  17. I built a Tuba18. The plans can be bought http://billfitzmaurice.net/ for about $15.00 (I think). It ends up being an 18 or 19 inch cube weighing maybe 50 lbs or so. It's good down to about 30Hz or so and is VERY musical. I have it paired with my Lascalas in my bedroom and it keeps up nicely. I would not recomend it for HT or for huge rooms however. There's some pics of it HERE.
  18. You'll get the hang of it! If you want to keep your pics all in the same thread, just read your last post and hit "reply" .
  19. WOW, absolutely beautiful! Mike's a lucky guy[Y].
  20. That's a steal! You're gonna love them.
