  1. http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/humanbody/sleep/sheep/reaction_version5.swf I hover in the "Bobbing Bobcat" territory.
  2. I guess we know why they had nothing to begin with.
  3. Christy, I have said a prayer for you and your family. I've been busy lately and haven't checked threads like I normally do. Diabetes is a terrible disease. My wife worked for a podiatrist for 15 years and the vast majority of their patients were diabetics. Please be sure your mother-inlaw watches her blood sugar closely. She's fortunate to have such a good support group. Carl
  4. Your receiver does not power the subwoofer. It merely sends it a signal. The subwoofer usually has a built in amp.
  5. Good job on the post count. Yes, this is the friendliest, most helpful forum I've come accross. You'll meet a lot of really good people here.
  6. Serious reading............................................
  7. It could have come through the sewer and grew up hiding in the machine???????? Don't know what it would have eaten though. Typically the stand pipe for the washer waste pipe is 2" but who knows on an older house.
  8. That reminds me of the "Rubber Duckie Derby" they have here every year. You donate a dollar to get a duck with a number on the bottom. They dump thousands of them in a river and see which one crosses the finish line first downstream. I think they use a dump truck to haul them with. The proceeds go to charity. i don't recall what you get if your duck wins. Maybe a hundred dollars or so.
  9. Late to the party here. Congratulations on the new job. I'm surprised you havn't gotten a "Top Notch" yet. You're hereby welcomed to the ratrace.
  10. Pretty funny. I don't think I could do it with a straight face.
  11. It's an unbelievable resource. I'm so lucky to have it within driving distance to me. From what I understand it's the largest pediatric hospital in the US staffed with some of the best pediatric doctors from all over the world. Amy had a problem with double vision most of her life due to one of her optic muscles being stretched when her ventricles swelled. When she would look off center, her eyes would misalign. We went to some local Dr.'s and ended up going back to TX Childrens hospital like we should have in the first place. The Dr. that did her eye surgery was absolutely incredible. They detatched the muscle and reattatched it so perfectly that her eyes are in perfect alignment no matter which way she looks. It also straightened her "head tilt" that she used to compensate for her double vision. I can't say enough good things about the doctors there.
  12. You mean they don't transfer you to someone in India? [:#]
  13. Thanks one and all. If people think that the only thing going on here is discussions on speakers....................................... Boy are they missing out.
  14. Just got back from her pre-op check. Amy can resume her normal activities pain allowing. She can't swim for a couple of weeks but otherwise just normal check ups with our neurosurgeon from this time forward. I just want to thank everyone again for the thoughts and prayers that were given on behalf of her. Carl IndyKlipschFan (Roger) you have PM.
  15. Very nice. Have you fired it up yet? How does it compare to subs you've had in the past?
  16. We're tentatively planning on driving to Florida, just south of Daytona. I've got some Heresy's that will be making a side trip once we get there to see Marshall!

I'm 100% certain that they work. After a rough initial night Amy is now home. The surgery was successfull and we go back to Houston tomorrow for what will hopefully be her last post-op check. It's a wonderful feeling to know that there are so many people pulling and praying for her. What a great forum.
  19. Thanks again all, especially from my daughter. For any one else that posts, thank you too. This is my last post for now. We're going over to Houston tonight instead of leaving at 4:00A.M. tomorrow. We've got to pack and whatnot, so I've got to run. I'll report back with GOOD news ASAP.[Y]
  20. Thanks all. The wellwishes on this forum can be quite humbling at times.
