  1. Read some of the previous posts, probably a billiom to choose from or do a word search for "receiver". ...Harmon Kardon_Marantz_Denon? or anything else that suits your taste.
  2. I'm a resident drifter...... The Manleys do "LOOK" nice.
  3. I had a custom made stained glass lamp and shade sent to me once with nothing but "shredded" paper thrown into the cardboard box along with a few flat sheets of newspaper. Of course it was damaged and took months to get my money back. I wouldnt hesitate to give someone negative feedback.
  4. Mine are the old Kg.4.2's not the 7's but I would imagine about the same for removal/install. If you can handle a screwdriver without hurting yourself...not a problem. When you get serious about it just contact Dean G. here at the forum, his Avatar is the locomotive & quite easy to find. Read some previous posts, many out there with info.
  5. Excellent! I'm near Greenwood, Colter.
  6. I hear you on the 4-6-8 ohm thing, My old Polks (4ohm) and Denon 100 watter sounded very thin & when I swapped in the Klipsch...holy cow, a huge difference.
  7. Local news on tv this morning (Indy) at a convention downtown there were two Klipsch up on tall speaker stands. Cant miss the copper colored speakers. Just caught a glance.....
  8. Cool! I am considering the Rf7's and the only other option at the dealer is the Paradigm 100's. My P-digm 40's sound mighty harsh and boxy.
  9. Now that the slumlord evicted his tennants I dont worry about the 2 pits running loose every week. Sure, I know the dog doesnt realize what he is doing and the owner holds full responsibility. What I am glad to see is owners "being" held responsible and if that means jail time...so be it. Things should get interesting if the 2 Rotweillers get loose as they seem to be much bigger and more agressive. We'll save that for chapter two. Thanks ben....for looking after my spelling and grammar errors.
  10. from Dragon, "I wonder why you folks are worried about dogs" ..................................................... Speaking for myself here but when anyone or anything that poses a threat to me I just sort go into a defensive mode and I dont care if it is your pet or you. Pass the Barbecue sauce please..tonight it's Pit on a Spit.
  11. lol...lol...lol..Wife found a possum' in the trash can last week so we turned the can over in the yard and 10 minutes later he was gone. They wouldnt be so ugly if it wasnt for the pointy tail with very little hair. He has very shiny white teeth too. Couple years ago I picked up a young kid who seemed lost early one Saturday morning as he stopped on his bicycle to ask for directions. Threw the bike in back of the truck and headed back into town. I noticed a lot of blood on his t-shirt so I asked him if he had been hurt. No, he said his dog died last night from losing a fight. Meet all kinds of people in this world.
  12. Hi Hudson, I have always used Denon stereo recievers for the last 12 years or so with my Klipsch 4.2's. Have always been very happy with the sound until recently the crossovers were changed and there was a very noticable difference. It is a hobby, not a necessity. The klipsches are so revealing the changes in amplification are noticable whether it be Yamaha Denon or whatever. If you are happy with the Yamaha Klipsch combo then fantastic, I was happy with Denon for 12 years. Thats all that matters.
  13. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. What else can you get for 250?....not much. Before sinking any money into crossover work in my 4.2's I was wondering the same thing. Glad I did it, a bargain of the year.
  14. Hi Duff, I too am curious to know what people are powering them with and if they use a sub. I'm considering the Rf7's but the slim rvx 54 is sure a good looking speaker. Sometimes decisions are pretty tough and a guy just has to go with a gut instinct, concerning your center channel.
  15. Why yes Ben, if she wasnt dead she would be. You dont practice what your signature says do you? Can you say fillet oh' pooch?
  16. I hear ya Moon, The renter down the street was just evicted...finally...and his 2 bull dogs were running loose at least once a week. Many older people and myself walk the neighborhood and some kids were not allowed to play outside because of this. Darn...I was willing to take a bite so I could fillet those dogs on the spot.
  17. Interesting read guy's, Those M.L.'s sound quite the opposite the Klipsch for sure. I'm getting a real boxy mid and exaggerated highs with my Paradigm's and am giving the 7's some serious thought. 6- months left on the trade in time. Mmmmmmmmmmmm.
  18. If anyones interested I picked up my first external amp, a Conrad Johnson Sonographe 120 for 250 bucks. It is clean as a whistle. The guy said it has been in storage for 3 years and before that powering his K-Horns for 10 years. Next time I see him I'm going to ask him more about those horns Now to see about getting it hooked up to see how it sounds. Thanks for all the contributions to my thread Guys/Gals.
  19. Wow, thanks guy......Guess I should visit here before my next purchase of McIntosh.
  20. Not sure where I read it but the gossip was about the RF7 cabinet or grill being re-designed. Probably just gossip.....Mmmmmmmmmmmm.
  21. ...dumb computers!...sorry about the double blank post. Has anyone heard about a new style of cabinet for the RF-7? .........Thanks, I'm considering new speakers.
  22. Thanks Captain, I hesitated and it sold to someone else. Thats ok...the newer ones look pretty good too.
  23. Thanks for the great read Audible, now if there was an economy VRD model. Those BB's and Peaches are very nice looking and from what you say make for quite a pair when mated to the VRD's. I have found the MX-110 to be a tuner, are you using it as a pre? or is my info. bad?
