  1. Damn, I should have been in marketing.... "You will want to be and be seen at this fundraising soiree,"
  2. jt1stcav: "I'm no expert on the scientific properties of human urine mixed with alcohol on vinyl recordings that seep through record jackets and paper sleeves, that much is true." On the contrary, with your experience I would say that you are. Damn glad I'm not... Plus, your post is a natural extension of this thread.
  3. Might as well look for those too if you are scouting for cheap heresies, at your son's budget, the forte's or FII's would also be a screaming buy.
  4. Assuming you have the means to pay off debt, and it is at a fixed rate, then it is wrong to pay it off if you are expecting massive inflation. Inflation rewards debtors because every dollar they pay next is cheaper than the last. Basically you can hedge by taking higher rates on your money in a money market account and paying off the lower rate debt. Deflation rewards debt holders (bond holders) because their real return is even higher than the stated rate, the opposite side of the coin.
  5. Maybe not Duke but I have to admit that the story is way worse than when a brother was pissing in our sink. Guess we were smart to have the vinyl up on the shelf in the closet!
  6. Exactly OB. they are paying for the charitable deduction and to show off in front of others that they donated. see and be seen...
  7. Can't help you with that but depending on where you are there is a beater set of heresies on Dallas craigslist for 150. Edit: They were there yesterday, gone today, sorry. It is proof that beater sets can be found pretty cheaply but you have to look and they often go fast.
  8. The world lost another jazz great today. http://music.msn.com/music/article.aspx?news=271318&affid=100055&GT1=7702
  9. One of the all time greats, Art Davis, died today. http://music.msn.com/music/article.aspx?news=271318&affid=100055&GT1=7702
  10. Forgive him Paul, for he knows not what the hell he is talking about.
  11. I hope you can continue to play for a long time too pete. Oh, I also like that scene in Caddyshack where the priest is golfing the game of his life in a thunderstorm, then misses a putt and looks up at the sky towards God and says "ratf***." Then he gets hit by lightning. Now that's hilarious.
  12. Doug you are one academy rich dude....
  13. Ceiling speakers are for ambient music for various spaces. Don't use them with klf-30's. Sorry can't help with in-walls.
  14. You'd better play some Queen Ida Thebes!
  15. Integrated audio furniture? There's a concept! Heresies for footrests? My dorm room was maybe 10x12. The funny thing is, yes I could imagine what it would have been like to have LaScalas in there!
  16. I don't golf but I really enjoy that scene in the Sopranos where Tony with his Italian hatchet man finds his mother's doctor on the course. The Italian says "it's a stupid a f***ing game," and destroys one of the doctor's clubs and throws it in the pond.
  17. Loud and Clear, I am pretty sure Jefferson said and wrote "inalienable rights" but you have the concept down anyway. For the record and the thread: 3 pairs of Forte II's one Academy Nakamichi LX-5 Nakamichi 480 Yamaha A550 plus cd player, dvd player 2 or 3 vcr's, At least 3 tv's not being used, technics sl-d2 turntable, sunfire cinema grand 200x7, probably more stuff if i really looked. There's also the stuff I use regularly. Now she knows the company you keep. This either proves you right or categorizes us all.
  18. The thing is Roc, I thought the black ones were to be strategically placed so you got the sound you wanted for now while you kept searching for a walnut pair to pounce on later. At least you still have that...
  19. If I die before I get to Mississippi to pick up a certain pair of Forte II's, the Dtels get them...
