  1. The bar in terms of performance was pretty low. That's why serious sports car drivers went European back then. I have driven sailboats that have more precise handling than 60's and early 70's US cars.
  2. Had my Compaq Pressario for a year now, with the hp 17" flat screen from best buy. I'm pretty happy with it.
  3. Basically, you are buying a house, not a home theater room. With hardwood floors you can add carpet easily. But keep the right frame of mind here: buy the house, then do the HT.
  4. Now I own a 27" TV. I guess I'll have to buy a new one when the standards change. I don't even have cable or sattelite TV--but I will get it again when the Sopranos new season starts airing--then I'll cancel it again when it's over. Ah Allan, the Sopranos sound much better in surround sound. I also have a 27" TV, but hey, it's a small room. ________________________________________________________ In my previous post, when I typed bastard, it came out ***. "You bastards."
  5. As a Led Zeppelin bastard, I still swear by vinyl. There is a lot out there that is not on CD, and what it is is tasty stuff. However, if enough people forsake vinyl again, maybe some of the insane prices will come down for the rest of us.
  6. Crank up the opening scene of Torque anyone? Sorry got an error message and thought the first one did not post.
  7. So maybe there are people here that love to crank up the opening scene of Torque through their Klipsch after all. Only rode mini bikes as a kid, but love biker movies.....
  8. I have a lead on some beauties (Cornwall II's) but I doubt north central Texas is close enough.
  9. Try this one, percussive friend: And you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack And you find your self in another part of the world And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile And you may find yourself in a beautiful house---with a beautiful wife And you may ask yourself--Well, How did I get here?
  10. This is not Dylan...... ______________________________ This is the dog talkin' now.
  11. In the dark where all the fevers grow Under the water where the shark bubbles blow In the morning by your radio do the walls close in to suffocate you You ain't got no friends And all the others they hate you Does the the life you been leadin' got to go?
  12. OK. You just are not a Dylan fan, so this will end it all: And said that way down on Highway 61. Well Mack the Finger said to Louie the King I got forty red white and blue shoe strings And a thousand telephones that don't ring Do you know where I can get rid of these things And Louie the King said let me think for a minute son And he said yes I think it can be easily done Just take everything down to Highway 61. Now the fifth daughter on the twelfth night Told the first father that things weren't right My complexion she said is much too white He said come here and step into the light he says hmm you're right Let me tell the second mother this has been done But the second mother was with the seventh son And they were both out on Highway 61. Now the rovin' gambler he was very bored He was tryin' to create a next world war He found a promoter who nearly fell off the floor He said I never engaged in this kind of thing before But yes I think it can be very easily done We'll just put some bleachers out in the sun And have it on Highway 61. There is much more, but point made, Jeff, I hand over the mantle of challenger to you.
  13. Any civic I have driven would out handle nothing. Much like any US made car I have had the "pleasure of driving." For reliability and low cost of ownership, the civic is hard to beat. I will say that I do own a hemi. It is a 4 cylinder double overhead cam Alfa Romeo.
  14. I can just imagine you checking the atlas now....it is what i would do....
  15. No, this one is also from Dylan, as advertised. There is a road that follows the Mississippi.....
  16. You can do this one, just think of a highway that stretches from Canada to the delta.....
  17. Alright then, the movie is Easy Rider, the writer is Bob Dylan, the artist is Roger Mcguinn, the tune is "It's alright ma (I'm only bleeding). Now: Well Georgia Sam he had a bloody nose Welfare Department they wouldn't give him no clothes He asked poor Howard where can I go Howard said there's only one place I know Sam said tell me quick man I got to run 0l' Howard just pointed with his gun
