Never ever Ever respond to these guys with an email address you want to keep. They swap email addresses with their scumbag friends and there is a very real possibility that you will be swamped with this junk in short order! A guy here at work replied from his work email and we had to do away with his email account and assign him a new one!

A friend of mine did the same thing on some Heresy II's (that he picked up at the thrift with no grills) to keep his 2 y/o from poking holes in the woofers. They actually look kinda cool that way. I was thinking of building some decorator Heresies and doing that for a nice industrial look to use in my garage.

You just need more than one hobby, like me! I tend to burn out on things pretty quickly because I have what has been termed a "Obsessive Personality." Meaning I tend to focus on something to the complete exclusion of all else! My biggest help was meeting and marrying the love of my life 6 years ago, but before that I learned to have completely seperate hobbies to obsess over when I started to burn out. For me they are audio, classic Pontiacs, and Archery. Whe audio starts to lose it's attraction I either head out to the garage and tinker with my never to be finished 1969 Firebird or to the archery range to fling a few arrows. It has kept me from losing what is left of my mind! Just a thought...

Wow!!! Worth the wait And loss of sleep!!! [Y]

Over the last 20 years I have owned 4 pairs of Heresies, all with slightly different internals. All were Heresy 1's (removeable back, drivers mounted from inside). Of those, the very first ones I bought are the only ones I still own. I have to admit that part of the reason is that they are far and away the best Looking of the four pairs, but none of the others sounded better so they all went and these stayed. They have: Type E-2 Crossovers, K-22-K Woofers, K-53-K Squawkers (Plastic horns) , and K-77 Tweeters. I replaced the 1/2" back panels with 3/4" several years ago, but the originals are stored safely in the closet. ps. Pictures? []

How many surfaces did you cover with foam? My Heresy 1.5's have plastic midhorns so I don't think they need to be calked, but I may give the foam thing a try.

From start to finish in well under a month, AND it works!! It takes me a month to talk myself into to thinking about starting a project!! Heck, my subwoofer project is into month 3 and all I have accomplished is buying the driver and coming up with a design!! Looks great as usual! I am really intrigued buy the Herscala idea, BTW!!

It is 2:20 am and I ain't going to bed until I see pictures of these, dammit! [] Or at least until I get home from work! (Damn I am bored!)

well, as these things usually go, we tried putting them on both walls, prefered the sound on the long wall and then put them on the short wall because his wife told us too! [] They still sound awsome, so he said he will suffer through!

We went every year from 1975 till I went in the Navy in 1980. We stayed at Glacier Bear Lodge every year. The two main things I remember are my first time flying into a remote stretch of river in an Otter and that the area around Yakutat is without a doubt the most beautiful place on earth!

I got both of my now dead components very cheap off of ebay, so I am not terribly surprised that they died. I will eventually have a pro look into the problems with the Pioneer. The amount of "Magic Smoke" that was released when the H/K died leads me to believe it is beyond helping! That is why I am thinking that I will buy something newer for my main system and continue to feed my vintage electronics habit with a second system. My Heresies haven't been damaged, so all is ok in my world, just a bit quieter at the moment! []

Well, I am now musicless (is that a word?). First my beloved H/K 730 dies a horrible Very smokey death (cause as yet unknown). It was replaced by a Pioneer SA-8500 integrated that sounded surprisingly good in my room with my system. Now it has died. All I get is the dreaded protection circuit click! I have been trying to trouble shoot it but I am just not knowledgeable enough about electronics to work on something as complex as this. I guess I should have held on to my BPC Pioneer receiver as a back-up, huh? Back to listening to .mp3s through my computer speakers for a while, I guess. A temporary setback! I think that when the funds are available to replace the pioneer, I will try something new. Maybe one of those nifty little battery powered units from Red Wine Audio or something like that. Hmmm..... Too many possibilities, too little funds!

Hearing Nightwish's Once CD played on a very well thought out system featuring 70's vintage Cornwalls is pretty much what started my quest for a sub to add to my Heresies. It is IMHO a Great CD for hearing the capabilities (or lack of) of the low end of your system.

In my notes (that I tend to make every time I visit this forum!) I have the measurements as 15.5" X 13.25" which sounds close enough to me. For some reason I have written down .75" height in the back angled up to 2.5" in the front. The result of one of my many noob posts I am sure. (I never said I take Good notes!) Email or send me a private message with cost, etc and let me see if I can swing it now or have to wait till payday.

Thanks, Steve. That is what the previous owner said, he just couldn't recall the exact ratio. BTW, How did you get K'Horns to Yakutat? We used to go Steelhead fishing up there.

A month or so ago I posted about moving my friend's K'Horns into a small bedroom while some remodeling was being done. Well, tomorrow they move to their newly expanded full time home. The room is 14'X19' with an 8'6" ceiling. One each of the 19' and 14' walls is clear, no doors, windows etc. The other 19' wall has 2 windows on it and the other 14' wall has the entrance door and a door to a small closet. We have just assumed during this whole process that the K'horns would go on the clear 14' wall. Now, the guy he bought them from told him that they may sound better on the 19' wall. We will probably just try both anyway, but we were wondering what you guys thoughts were on this situation. Thanks!

It seems like most of the great K'Horn rooms I have seen were purpose built to Be great K'Horn rooms, either as part of a new home or a Major remodel. The house my wife and I were looking at buying (before the recent tech downturn changed our minds) had a really nice room for a pair of K'Horns, but it would have involved some serious negotiating between the wife and I to get them in there! [] It was designed to be a HT but the guy ran out of money so it sat empty the whole time he lived there.

I would kinda like to know what Mark was looking for when he Found that auction... Hmmm.....[]
