Alot of respectible people her rave the RF-7s, I would consider upgrading your front end and back end to your rf7s potential. Clearly you are not soundstaging, hearing layers, and the detailed imaging that you should be in 2-channel.

I just purchased a VPI HW 16.5 record cleaner new in box from a local dealer. When I turn on the motor, the motor seems to have a odd sound, like a bearing going bad, type noise. Is this normal? I read the manual and it says the motor is noisey, but it sounds like bearings going bad. Anyone have this unit? What a difference a clean LP makes!

Well, I went to buy a new MC cartridge I ended up buying a Music hall mmf-7. The MMF-7 comes standard with a Goldring Eroica H, high output mC cartridge. The sound is a huge improvement over the rega combo I was useing. The instructions to the MMF say you use it with a regular MM phono stage, it works, but my gains are all the way up on the Blueberry and I have to have the volume at 4-5 o-clock, so I get a little distortion when I drive the sunfire 300 two into 4 ohms with that much gain. Can the Blueberry be upgraded for this cartridge? or is it ok as is?

You definetly need to make your bass bins air tight!!!! this is very very important! If your house floods and you have your bins sealed, they will float and prevent your drivers and crossovers from water damage.

Has anyone heard the Rives unit? Finally a way to remove the BOOM in your room. The PARC is a Parametric Adaptive Room Compensation system. Rives Audio designed the PARC because current stereo and home theater components have exceeded the capability of their environment. Today's hi end audio speakers and electronics have the capability of delivering a near flat response throughout the audible frequency range (20Hz to 20kHz). However, these systems interact with their environment, namely the room they are located in. One of the largest problems in typical listening rooms is standing waves or room modes (bass modes) caused by parallel walls. The PARC is specifically designed to alleviate this problem. To understand more about the issues of room modes, go to "the Listening Room". The PARC is a 2 channel, 3 band (per channel) parametric equalizer (parametric eq) that can attenuate 3 separate frequencies at different ranges and amplitudes. It is purely analog based, so there is no digital conversion to corrupt the audio signal. The system uses components and modules developed for high end analog recording studios. I think that you should sell that system with your house, looks nearly impossible to tear down and re-setup. IMO

Craig, not to steal the thread, but I have an old tube radio amplifier that works, but I would like to have it restored so it can be used in the radio cabinet which I refinished. Can you do this? Or do you know of anyone that can? I would like the chassis to be refinished as well, so it will probobly need to be stripped of the electonics, bead blasted an painted. carry on, Rob

I Know that the table and arm are not the greatest, but I do have them in another room than the speakers, so I get no vibration at the table. Im not crazy about over priced MC cartridges, only good ones, price comes with quality I understand. Will a 1000.00 cartridge make more of an improvement than a 1000.00 table/arm combo? I can put the orgin live mods in the arm, but vibration control is not an issue so, I thought a table would be the least effective mod for the buck.I have looked on audiogon at the different cartridges and am lost, I do not want to throw a grand or so in the wrong direction.So once again, any favorites? Or should I scrap the whole idea, spend the extra money on a better tt/arm/cart in the used market altogether?
