  1. Iv'e never really had a great cd player to speak of. Probably the best was an adcom cd and dac combo. I just got in my Musical Fidelity 308CR cd player today and I'm telling you right now its like I was listening with a thin sheet over my head before. I'm finding it hard to describe but snare hits seem crisper and Ive heard a few things that I havent on cd's I've heard hundreds of times. My Conrad johnson pre is out till next week so I'm listening with a SS yahmaha right now as my pre for my wright 2a3 monoblocks and it sounds nice. I will be listening much more this weekend! ;D
  2. Yeah I was thinking about those also. http://white.hometheatertalk.com/tips/acoustics.htm

  4. Ok I guess I was a little vauge. I currently have a 46" Toshiba HDTV with hdtv DSS and a full 6.1 setup with khorns as mains with cornwalls and heresys for center and surrounds. I just want the tv out of the way as I feel it's getting of the way of my 2 channel depth and imaging. Plus I want to treat the front wall.Oh and light is not an issue there is no stray light when viewing.
  5. F@#%K!!!, I cant believe it 399 and the guy threw in a free pair of heresys also!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just did a search about 30 minutes ago.
  6. Ok I really like watching movies but am a hardcore 2 channel guy. I was thinking if I got a screen it could be up when not in use and would not get in the way of my 2 channel listening. Ant suggestions on projectors or screens. 60-90 inches is fine. I was thinking of mounting the projector where my ceiling fan was since theres power there and it is dead center in my 20x2ft room. Either that or a plasma.I think anything else would not be acceptable for serious 2 channel listening. Any thoughts?
  7. Be happy you dont have to keep this WWII ENIAC super computer tubed up!!
  8. Looking for a really good sub for accurate music reproduction for around a grand to go with my Klipschorns. Suggestions?
  9. I like the Rca Jan red base 5962 6sn7's or the Ken Rad's also.
  10. Very nice but Very SLOW to load on my business DSL conection.
  11. I'm thinking of going with the best player I could afford. I'm shopping right now also and heard a Arcam 23T stand alone and it smoked the cd/dac combos I heard. Ive had the Adcom , CAL Audio labs, and msb dac's but hearing the Arcam changed my thoughts on having to have a dac. I'm still not sure what I'm going to get though.
  12. Great news glad it's gonna turn out good!
  13. Well I have around 200 deals on ebay so Im not a newbie.I don't think it matters how much is bid how fast. I couple weeks back I saw a TT I wanted for a long time. It was up for 9 days and started at 1 penny. I bid 701.99 right off the bat. I was not going to go a cent higher. It stayed at my price till a few minutes left and went for 705.00 if I remember right. Its up to how bad someone wants something I think. I was probably 200.00 bucks to high but it was like it was in a time capsule and it was worth it to me cause my dad used one. I'm sure people could not believe it went for so much and thought I was crazy. Just my 2cents.
  14. I think I should say something I forgot. No matter what room or anything I think the best advise is start with the traditional triangle seating then move a little forward or a little back listening then again untill you find that sweet spot then mark it or something so you know where it is if for some reason you have to move your chair. All the advise in the world is not the same as you hearing it for yourself the way you think it should sound.
  15. http://seattle.craigslist.org/ele/72437273.html I do not know the seller but thats a hell of a price.
  16. Hi Rob, Like Jeff said dont worry. In fact I tried the 1st postion like your thinking and I did not like the sound. My khorns are on a 22ft wall and I sit around 17 ft away and love them. Ive found that the khorns dont follow usual seating arrangments for me. If so I would have to sit around 9ft away to be in the intersection and like I said I did not like it. The soundstage they give out in my room is huge and deep. I thought I'd found the light with my cornwalls but the khorns took it to another level of bliss all together. Go for it.
  17. I was wondering if anyone here could help me with a copy of an owners manual for a Wright 2a3 amp. Thank you. Mabye a pdf file or jpegs or something.
  18. Well I just popped the reserve but I doubt if I'll keep up the bidding war like usually happens.Should I shoulnt I.......
  19. Im sorry I sent it to 500 right away but did not meet the reserve. I can't see for me and all the stuff I already have going much more but.......
  20. All the best Joe to you and yours. Glad to hear the GREAT news!
  21. OMG!!! (Charlieboy ponders at his khorns and how they would look in Bubinga and how much it would cost to have them done?) Those are very nice!!!
  22. Nice. I hope they make somebody happy. I would buy those for that price in 2 seconds but I'm in California.
