  1. That's funny! Allan, how do you get in touch with Juki?
  2. That's interesting. I didn't think Grado made any low output cartridges.
  3. That's two jazz cool cats and a dog that thinks it's random horn blowing. Alan, that looks really sweet. I'm jealous now. I had fun rebuilding that thing a couple years ago. It was just sitting here looking for a good home. It definitely found one with you setting it up, giving it an arm and then on to Gary who I'm pretty sure is going to really dig it maaannn.
  4. Sorry Seti, that a was secret code. You have to put your spyglasses on to read it.
  5. When she comes back, why don't you introduce some Klipsch bikini's, maybe some lingerie. Um, no. How rude. How about a simple "thanks for the idea"? http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/post/805878.aspx

  7. Note to marketing..... Female models will sell more T-shirts on this message board.
  8. Coytee, the code is: ImdEAf Amy, now that was the shirt I said you all should do a few months ago when all of the burnouts here were pining for black. Very, very nice. I ordered two.
  9. Hopefully I'll be able to score some good used deals in about 2 years when the trend wears out.
  10. How do you know the vinyl is digitally remastered? I've read in the past that Jeff Tweedy is a tape fanatic. Doesn't like recording digital. The album only says Half-Speed Matered for Vinyl by Stan Ricker. I know nothing about the engineering and mastering of recordings which is why I ask. By the way, the album is growing like a weed. Typical of other Wilco albums, about the time I start to wonder if I like it, I all of sudden can't get enough of it.
  11. I really like Uncle Tupelo but, I got there moving backwards from Wilco. Summerteeth was when I really started listening to Wilco. WIth all the delays with their followup YHF, I had plenty of time to go backwards and learn the older stuff.
  12. It's starting to grow on me. Definitely a different album than the last two. Not sure about the second half yet. Wilco always takes a little time to get used to.
  13. Like these?... As I mentioned in a email to Greg, mine are also up for trade as i no longer use these as a center channel and would like to go back to the K22 muds like would have been originally in there. Obviously i don't want to cut in though... [:$] Formica, Those are the ones! Want to trade me?
  14. Wow, those would be 1964 vintage? Much more unique with that finish and grill cloth? Can you keep the appearance the same? I'd hate to see them refinished to look like all the newer 80's, 90's and 00's. They have a very retro look to them although I know that doesn't always fit with the rest of the home.
  15. Greg, The "newer" woofer in mine are still back from the 70's. K-22-E stamped on them. The woofers I'm looking for has orange or red surrounds. I've seen pictures of them somewhere before, I'll have to search forum. Here is a picture of the inside of my old H700
  16. He just needs to hear one of those Mr. T amps like you have.
  17. The 3 screws are at 9, 12 and 3 o'clock position. It''s the skinny "C" shaped stamping the lifts the platter.
  18. The scraping sounds means you don't have it adjusted right. Although the scraping isn't hurting anything, it's not pleasant to listen too. It just means when you pull the lever, it's not raising the outer platter high enough. There are 3 large set screws that need to be raised to the correct level. In case you are ever so inclined. They are accessed from underneath. Very simple really although, putting records on and off while the platter is spinning doesn't hurt anything as long as your careful. This is one of the little screws underneatch the lever. There is a hole in the lever that slides over this pointy screw when lowered. To raise, it slides up on top of the screw, thus lifting the platter. Mikey, you have a heavy piece of glass sitting on top of your platter but I would think it the screws are raised to the correct level, it might still work.
  19. Michael, Hey man that would be great, that's exactly what I need. I don't think the current woofers in my H700's are what Greg is looking for anyway. I sent you a PM and email.
  20. Anybody want these? Black metal can RCA tubes. 5 of the 1619 and 1 of the 1622. They're not worth much and I have no use for them. They've never been used. I just can't bear to throw them out even though that would be the easiest thing to do. PM or email me your address and they're yours.
  21. Upper platter off. When this little lever is pulled forward, it raises the upper platter off the lower just enough to stop it from spinning. Yes Gary, your's looks just like this and the feature was operating nicely when I sent it to Allan.
  22. Yea that's probably it. It's not a brake for the entire platter. When set correctly, it will raise the aluminum upper platter cover off of the spinning heavy platter underneath. It's a great feature as it lets the motor and the heavy platter keep spinning, maintaining speed, while you flips sides or change records.
  23. Your TD124 should have the outer platter lift for removing records(and placing records). The lever on the left side raises the outer platter off the inner platter so it stops while the inner platter spins away underneath. Unless you or someone modded to a different platter?
  24. The more expensive automatic record vacs don't seem to clean any better than the cheaper manual record vacs. Just more convienent. The VPI's and Nitty Grittys are all great at cleaning records. Vacuming records though, no matter what system, gets really tedious for me. I can stand doing about 5 at a time before extreme boredom sets in. You can start out with a simple $200 basic Nitty Gritty and get your records as clean as higher end models. Then you can work your way up the ladder to either more automated Nitty Grittys or the VPIs later as your hobby progresses. There are a few other makers in the market now but they're on the expensive side.
