  1. I own the Pioneer PDP505-CMX...50" Plasma....(1/2 life is 60,000hours= 20+years)...maintanance free. You can't go wrong w/ this one !!!
  2. Dave in ABQ ; Life changes after Craig gets a hold of your vintage equipment; ... be prepared. Craig O. is the man !
  3. Okay, now wha OH MY GOD TURN IT DOWN TURN IT DOWN TURN IT DOWN" Hillarious...but so true at times. I remember those days ...thank god my system is set up perfect. Two buttons...one for my Pioneer Hi-Def Monitor and one for my Klipsch System ran by my processor..
  4. I wish we had the ORIGINAL search engine, 2 versions before this new WEBSITE google engine; the one a few years ago. It was simple and efficient.
  5. Is this a Tripath model ?
  6. The sub is much lower...and with authority.
  7. No, Max ....he's a Drummer ....[] Ok, Duke ...be nice.
  8. For your need, Larry, a sub would be a waste of money. The KHorns are incredible standing on their own, with the proper source material and amped components.
  9. My sub is used mainly in the Home Theater mode...
  10. The destinction between 40 hZ and 32 hZ is almost a perfect Half-Octave (6 musical note half steps on a piano) ....when dealing w/ the spectrum of sound waves. Now that is an incredible difference.
  11. Like Jeff said....he my man ! But, I also think the check's already in the mail ...[]
  12. EVERYONE: The fuses that blew were KHorns upper Tweeter/Squawker fuses ... Channel LEFT was a 2 amp fuse. ....Channel RIGHT was a 2.5 amp fuse. (don't ask me how the 2 amp got into the fuse casing, but that was the first time I have blown any fuses in my KHorns. ) Like I said earlier, I left the room when Jeff pushed the system. My ear can't handle those SPL's. Jeff likes the volume !
  13. Jeff, You need to talk to Craig (NosValves) about his VRD design. He designed those amps and what they are saying is true. The dial knob doesn't determine what you think.
  14. Wow,...I go the gym for two hours and this thread inflates to 22 replies already, before I can reply once. First off, Jeff thank you for all the complementing words on my career, my Big Left Turn cd, my castle and of course, my Klipsch 3-channel and theater setups. SFOGG: The weight on the SPL was "C" , so yes the dB's were exaggerrated. NOSValve: The KT88 on the VRD was working fine on the demo day with Jeff. I think it is just the tube contact situation like you explained in your email today. TO Everyone: ...we didn't listen to 110+ dB's for more then a few seconds at at time. My ears cannot handle it, and Jeff will let you know that I explained in advance that I didn't mind him "cranking" my system, just as long as I could step out of the room while he pushed the system. AS far as the difference in the VRD's versus his Crown...the power is obviously there with his Crown, but I noticed that his Solid State amp had a harsher highend then the VRD s; it was quit obvious to me. NO matter what volume we listened at. There is something about the VRD's that is so special to me. But the main difference in the whole days demo was the insert of my newly acquired NosValves upgraded Scott LC-21 Tube Pre-Amp. It was quite obvious. His system lit-up when we inserted the TUBE PRE-AMP !!!! It was clear as day versus night. It only took a second to realize what the main culperate was in his system. My suggestion is : .......he needs a Tube PreAmp. I recommend a Scott 130 or an LC-21 , if he can find this rare gem !
  15. Oh...you definitely are off to a good start, for a first Tube amp. But, I would strongly suggest getting yourself a tube preamp (maybe a Scott 130, or Scott LC-21) to complement the Baldwin. Contact NOSValves for assistance on any SCOTT product. You can't lose Tube on Tube ! Enjoy,...and again it was my pleasure in dealing w/ you.
  16. It's on its way in fifteen minutes. Sad to see this beauty go, but it has found a happy home !!! Thanx Jeff for the smooth transaction !!
  17. Congratulations to Jeff Scheffler...a fellow Klispch member won the Baldwin ! Welcome to the Baldwin Tube family Jeff !!!!!!!!!
  18. Thanx Scooter for clearing this up for me. I WAS told it will play HD movie. My player already has the upgrade to1080p. I got it for $220 shipped to my front door. (not bad) If it doesn't play HD's ...no biggie...I plan on getting whatever player plays both Blu-Ray and HD. ***Please keep me informed on any player that will do BOTH formats, in the future.***
  19. Tomorrow is the big day someone purchases this beauty. I pray a Klipsch member wins this beast .
  20. I already own a HD DVD player, the NeuNeo 2085 Hi-Def DVD Player. I wonder why they say that there are none on the market today? *****EDIT, my player IS NOT HD-DVD compatable, ....it is ONLY a Hi-Def upscaler, and it works incredibly well. ...thanx SCOOTER for clearing this up for me.****
