Since RWMIN covered the speaker(sourrounds) I will give my two cents on subs and cables. First if you are looking for a musical(tight,fast)sub then the M&K is the best choice.Its fast,tight and does not boom like so many lesser subs. And then you have HSU and SVS,for the price these outclass the competition.Plain and simple.For around $700 you can get a great sub from HSU or SVS and it will be both musical and have plenty of bass for HT. And they take little space,too. The Definitive subs are nothing special,most overhype them.I heard the smaller units as well as the large brutha 18".Not musical at all.The Paradigm 2200 while a good sub in no way can match SVS or HSU on music. And now to the wire problem,I did read plenty of "reviews" on AudioReview and similar sites,by so called owners who never owned or had a bad experience and bashed the products. I have several interconacts,cables and power cords from Monster Cable Cardas Kimber UltraLink IXOS Tributaries Transparent MIT Yes all these brands(in several systems,including two "PC" systems) Now some bash Monster Cable not because it gives poor performance but because they read the HYPE all cable makers will claim and think it will improve the system so much.And Monster Cable is the most popular quality cable,so you get more frustrated peeps who were disapointed to realise the system they have still sounds like a pile of manure. Monster Cable interconacts and speaker wire are of good quality.I have the Sigma,M1000 and the M2.4B and M2.2's. I did compare the Monster Cable to other respected names in the "cable" world and I can tell you they are good products. If you want someting else at a good price then take a serious look at UltraLink.Very high quality at a low price. TheEAR(s) Now theears

Concrete floor,great for subs and low end.I would love to have a solid concrete floor in mu music/HT room. The bass energy is not absorbed like with wooden floors.The bass shuld improve,unless the acoustics of the room are very bad.If the acoustics are ok then your sub sound sound cleaner. Often room acoustics makes a sub sound more boomy then it is. Just experiment with placement,you should find a good compromise of output and definition. TheEAR(s) Now theears

KLF-20 huh,hmm even with 10-20 watts you should have plenty,unless you listen at ear tearing levels. Creek integrated amps are good quality,what they lack is bass punch and damping.Grip if you will. Creek amps are often used with tiny monitor speakers and active subwoofers. I there are two choices here to improve(correct)the situation. A: Try a good subwoofer,at least a KSW15(I would recomend a RSW12)This will take care of the shortcoming of the amp. B: Try a large power amplifier,a Rotel power amp and preamp would take care of the problem. Maybe the speaker wire is causing the problem here , what speaker wire do you use? I did listen to the KLF series(20 and 30)and in now way its bass deprived.Just needs an amp with guts(power and bass grip). TheEAR(s) Now theears

Very easy(but beware,in no case will I be accounted for any damage or injury)use common sense here... Oh yes www.gamersdepot.com has a review of the Klipsch and they show the inside of the sub!Check it out! Just unplug the sub,yes the AC too.If you dont you may/will get a nasty wake up call from the AC. Be sure to set the switch to ON after you unpluged the unit.This will discharge the capacitors,lesser risk of electric shock. Well what are you waiting for? Get a philips(cross)screwdriver and remove all the screws at the edge(NOT any other ones!). After this is done gently remove the panel,it it does not move you may need a spatula to lift the amp plate. Be careful the amp plate contains all the amplifier circuits(the amp itself). Doen now? Good(hello BUZZZZZZZZZ noooooooo LOL) As you can see the amp is conected to the woofer(s)... Now you can remove the toy from the port...since the port. Now put back the amp plate and use the screwdriver...dont torque the screws too much...its MDF...not tank reinforced material.Again common sense is good here...LOL Congrats That is it. With the cone surface and peak to peak the RSW15 has it should have all the output power to keep up with almost any speakers made. If not well, just buy two. TheEAR(s) Now theears

Come on just use them as PC speakers with a cheapie sub.My Quintets now serve as the "mains" on my "clock radio". I will not sell them. Or keep them to test 9V batteries!LOL TheEAR(s) Now theears

Soundcraftsman LOL Yes I remember...the adds!And the Made in the USA! Yess I also remember they made EQ's and such,not much else.They wanted to tell Mr X and Miss Z that Soundcraftsman was High-End. At $75 I guess it not a bad buy. Not long ago I got a Carver TFM-75 in perfect condition,also second hand.The owner got $500 for it. Not bad for a 750W RMS per channel dual mono amp.Built quality is great and sound is not bad at all. Just dont buy the matching WHITE VAN SPEAKER CORP. matching five way speakers that are DIGITAL READY! LOL TheEAR(s) Now theears

Sorry I forgot about the upgrade... The KSW10 could be replaced by a better sub.I would at least go with a KSW15.You may also wait a bit and get a RSW10 or 12 depending on how much you want/can spend. The sub is important in a HT system,dont skimp too much on the sub. At the prices you can get a Denon 3801 now you could get a KSW15 or even a RSW12 for not too much money. TheEAR(s) Now theears

Carlos here are some good recievers in the $500-1000 range... Denon 3801(3802 newer) Yamaha RX-V1000(2095 if you can find disco) Marantz SR7000 or 8000 I went with the Denon 3801(3802 not yet on the market at the time of purchase)and 5800. TheEAR(s) Now theears

I cant tell you about the Marantz but the Rotel is a good sounding unit.I heard the Rotel and it sounded very detailed with a large Rotel power amp. Listen to the Marantz then to the Rotel,trust your ears.Be sure the demo is with a good power amp and great quality speakers. TheEAR(s) Now theears

Wait let me see,hmm I see you want to download Dynaudio and ScanSpeak drivers V2.01 for your ProMedia! The download will be very long but the sound quality will imprive tenfold!And while you are at it you can also download Krell CAST subwoofer amp module!With 2600W RMS you will feel all the impacts like they were for real. NOPE The 5.1 six channel amp is located in the sub.This is the main obstacle here.The canter could be added and even the control pod.So the answer is NOPE. Try to sell the 4.1's if you need/want the 5.1's so badly.The 5.1's have more power and better bass,the twin 8" sub drivers deliver the goods like no other PC sub. TheEAR(s) Now theears

When the headphone jack is used the speakers should cut.Maybe there is a problem with the control pod. Try again and push the headphone 1/8" all the way in. If the speakers still play then contact Klipsch tech support. TheEAR(s) Now theears

Ha ha ha a SACD "compatible" preamp! I have a SONY SCD-1 SACD player and a Audio Research LS25 tube preamp.I must buy a new "compatible" one so my CD's sound better! LOL The SACD "compatibility" on preamps is just too funny. ANY HIGH QUALITY PREAMP IS FULLY SACD COMPATIBLE,and I guarantee you all Audio Research preamps are more than just "compatible" they outperform the so called "compatible" ones. You said it right headphones(earspeakers)cannot match speakers.Like you said speakers provide "total body experience" no headphones can no matter how accurate or how expensive. I have the Grado RS-1 and Sennheiser HD600 and even with a good headphone amp these in no way replace my Dynaudio,Klipsch or Spendors.The total body experience is what music is all about. MattG...LOL Ok wait a minute here I own TWO yes TWO Denon... recievers.I have the 5800 and 3801.Only used as pre/pro and ATI amps provide the punch to the speakers. I did not say Denon,Yamaga,B&K,Integra recievers were bad,their amps are far from great.That is all. Well the Integra Research power amp is awesome,and guess what? Its designed by BAT!Strange huh,no in Japan they know american amps kick a$$.Plain and simple. What I wanted to say is I would not buy a Denon,Yamaha or SONY power amp.I did not refer to recievers. There are so many great American and Canadian power amps why buy El Cheapos?And you dont need to spend a fortune to own a super amp. ATI(I have the 1505 and 2505) Outlaw B&K Acurus Carver(I have the TFM-75) Sunfire and some other American quality amps And these are more costly and get you the extra power and finesse... Krell(mmmm undisputed heavyweight champ of solid state,I love my FPB600...love...NAH ) Mark Levinson(Krell arch enemy) Jeff Rowland(for the perfectionist,sound and built) Spectral(fastest most detailed? Shock-Late what in the blue...are you doing with a Technics preamp?I mean come on,Technics does not make any worthy amps or preamps.All Technics amps and preamps sound like a diesel.LOL You have good speakers,you have a great amp...WHY IN THE BLUE....are you using a Technics? WHY? I have an Audio Research preams and I can tell you your system would sound WAY WAY better if you just sold the Technics and got a real preamp. You can find CJ tube preamps even used for a few dollars that will put to SHAME the Technics.And belive me I talk from experience,not from what some clowns said on some site somewhere. Try a CJ or Audio Research or a BAT preams and you will realise how poor the Technics is in comparison. Please just try you will thank us. Jeff Rowland makes some of the very best solid state amps and preamps.The sound quality is awesome,and what about the built quality!The built quality is second to none.Not cheap,this is why I ended with Krell,still a sonic masterpiece less the overboard build quality,not to sy Krell is cheaply built.LOL Simply Jeff Rowland is built with Swiss precision. And Audio Research is indeed a special and legendary brand,I have the LS25 tube preamp and all I can say is I dont regret my purchase,even if I had to save plenty of Canadian dollars to get one. Another brand that is right up there with Jeff Rowland,Krell and Audio Research is BAT.Balanced Audio Technology makes some of the very best tube preams and amps.And they have a line of awesome solid state amps(monoblock and two channel)as well as the new VK-6200 super HT amp. And yes SF tibe amps and preamps should match very well with Klipsch speakers,as well as all the above brands. Heck even the large Krell and Celeste do wonders to the RF-5's!To me using the RF series with a reciever no matter how top shelf is wasting the true potential of the larger Klipsch speakers. All I can tell about Yamaha is they have some good sounding DSP modes.I did not listen to the unit you linked,only the 3000,2090 and the Yamaha reference recievers.Sound was quite good! I simply dont use too much the DSP modes,5 channel stereo on the Denon is plenty for me. TheEAR(s) Now theears
