Move your other speakers with the clean cones into this room and see if they start to show the same issue. If no that rules out the room conditions and points to a defect in Manufacturing. It could EASILY happen to all 8 woofers at the same time I am positive that when they make the woofers its DOZENS at a time so you could easily have woofers all from the same batch with a defect especially if your serial numbers are close. No company will openly admit a defect in a product for all anyone knows there could have been a few claims

No offense taken here, Just giving my Opinion of the Trumpet, did not intend for it to come off as confrontational. I agree Jim Hagerman did a superb with the Trumpet. He has a new much smaller version

Superb Amplifier IMHO, Silky smooth, Dead Quiet, Holographic imaging, Mids are very SET 45 like, and bass is stout with good definition. I dont keep a lot of gear as you know but I am afraid this is a lifer. I can not see getting a better SET amp. I have another smaller / lower output KT88 SET amp that can be hauntingly good depending on source material but it does not have the Bass of the Don Allen. I have a couple pair of 6550 tubes 1 pair of Gold Lion KT88 and a pair of tung sol KT120.....................Always on the look out for more, never heard the KT90

You are looking at a pic I posted to simply show the inside. The unit was upside down on purpose, Any piece of gear that has something come in contact with the power transformer has a potential to have a MECHANICAL HUM, that piece was re-positioned, Hum Gone. I dont do review speak but you can check the web and there are several reviews of the Trumpet, It resides in some systems costing 100K and up (IOW.... people that can afford any phono stage bought and use the Trumpet, that alone speaks volumes to me) I personally compared the Trumpet to SEVERAL 5000.00 and below Phono Stages, we used Stevens and Billington TX 103 both silver and copper versions along with several MC cartridges in the 1.5 to 5 k arena My table was a Maplenoll Ariedna sig version with air arm and a 70 pound lead platter, My friends table was a La Luce SPJ. Between the 2 of us we tested a dozen at least and without fault the trumpet sounded better. I could care less about the odd appearance. What ever Jim Hagerman did, he did it right IMHO

I have a pair of quicksilver Horn Mono amps 25 wpc designed for use on horn systems DEAD quiet when working properly. I had the Left channel get noisy so I dis connected the amps took a look and found A cap leaking Electrolytics on the still quiet amp (Go Figure) the cap is a 47uf 500 Volt. In the noisy amp I replaced the cap with a German Made F & T I got from Tube Depot. This did not solve the noise (Damn it). There are no techs near me and I do not want to deal with the expense of shipping across the country to Mike Sanders (2 times) So here it is the amps were working perfect when the left one started making noise, No fuses blew, no smoke or anything like that. I can not believe it will be a terribly difficult repair. The amps do not have a huge amount of parts and the design leaves a lot of space for testing and repairs. See the included pic of the guts When I bought the caps I got spares I am including those in the sale. AMPS are being Bought AS IS, NO RETURNS, NO BI^%$ING. I have double what I am asking into these I think 500 is fair but I will listen to offers. Expensive a$$ woofers at 210.00 each new. I think this was updated to be more the Super Hersey II But I dont keep up with all that. If I had a space / place to use them I would when placed on a 12" stand the image like mad and sound really nice
