  2. It is about an alien scout team sent to Earth to check it out and they land in a High Tech amusement park. So the alien's believe Earth is made up of this advanced society. Fairly entertaining, but the graphics are fantastic.
  3. Cool theater seats RobertP, overall a very nice room.
  4. I sincerely hope that I have good luck with the Sony 975 I recently installed for my theater. I was quite impressed with the upconversion and the stunning visuals. I have been happy with the sound processing as well. Good luck in your search.
  5. Just received a copy of the Alien Adventure DVD after seeing it on INHD I had ordered it, and I am quite impressed. The disc offers the 2-D or 3-D format as well as Dolby Digital or DTS sound formats. The film is approximately 30 minutes long but the computer generated scenes and superb sound make up for the short length. This disc really showcases the system and has good bass notes to get the sub going. This movie was originally produced for IMAX with the 3-D format for the theater.

  7. Very nice stand, when I was searching for a stand my criteria was that it had to be floorstanding. That posed a challenge for the RC what with the width and weight of the speaker. You made a good choice with the one pictured. Good Luck
  8. Several months ago I purchased RF 7's, an RC 7 and a RW 12 in Cherry. The finish of the RF's is simply stunning while the RW is less than perfect. The Cherry finish of the RW is much lighter than the Cherry of the RF's. After speaking with my dealer he simply stated that was the way that the RW series came from the factory. I did notice today while cruising the Klipsch product page that the RW is now available only in Black. Maybe the complaints of non-matching finishes changed the way of thinking at the top, just my observation. Has anyone else experienced this disparity in color?
  9. Congrats on the system upgrade, I purchased the Reference series earlier this year and I have been blown away as well. Given time, you will come to appreciate every nuance of these wonderful speakers. It is easy to make things loud, however, the real quality of these speakers surfaces with subtle dialog from a movie or the strings of a violin. Enjoy the speakers and welcome to the club.
  10. as they say..... "one man's junk is another man's treasure"
  11. Here is the stand I built for the RC 7, I used left over melamine and 2 inch screws to assemble. Once I assembled the stand I then used putty for the seams and textured it to resemble the wall pattern. I finished the stand off with Kilz primer and flat black paint. I hope this gives you some ideas.
  12. ---------------- On 5/16/2005 9:50:12 AM ] Are these wide enough for the RC-7? It's dimensions are: 9" (23cm) x 26" (66.5cm) x 12" (30.7cm) And does the RC-7 just sit on it? Or can it be attatched? ---------------- [/blockquote> That was the main problem I was having with the stands that I found. In the end I decided to build my own so that I had zero worries about the stability of the stand. Afterall, the RC 7 weighs 45 lbs. and all of the stands that I looked at were rated for 35 lbs. and did not fits the dimensions of the 7.
  13. Okay, I finally had the opportunity to watch National Treasure last evening with the family. I,for one was very entertained from beginning to end. The visuals were great as well as the sound. I will say that the story line was somewhat simple but I enjoyed it very much. My 5 year old boy was able to watch it without my fear of too much foul language.
  14. Mine is Professor Truth merritt Flex
  15. I agree with The Incredibles being reference material throughout. Certainly Epi I and II but to add to the list is the "quarter" scene from Driven gets the house rumbling. The Minority Report with the fight scene in the factory and those plasma weapons is pretty cool also. Anything from the DTS demo disc gets the air moving to the delight of most audiophiles and casual listeners alike.
  16. The newest edition to the theater project are wall sconces. I just finished installing four sconces and I used the Lutron Spacer dimmer which I will program into the Theatermaster remote that I have. It is amazing what a difference lighting makes to this or any room for that matter. the project continues.......
  17. Picked up StarGate DVD last week in the Special Edition version. It gives you the opportunity to chose either the 5.1 or 6.1 channel set-up. The visuals and sound quality are very good with some scenes worthy of reference material status.
  18. I recently completed a theater room and I went with the 4seating .com row of 3 theater seats. The model name I went with is the Men in Black II series in black leather and leather match. All seating surfaces and armrest are a soft leather and the leather match is nicely done as well. These seats have a strong recliner mechanism and big cup holders in each arm. Part of the deal was bass shakers under each seat and assembly was fairly simple. With freight, the row cost me $1600 from Cali to Florida. If you would like to see these seats in my application look at my post on "Let's see your theater" on this forum. I could have spent alot more for seats out there but for the money and the acceptable quality I am very pleased with my choice.
  19. Picked up the MercyMe concert DVD over the weekend and with the Dolby Digital sound it is a wonderful show. It does have a 2nd disc with quite a few extras and commentary I found entertaining as well.
  20. ---------------- On 5/7/2005 6:09:14 PM KathyMason wrote: Mine sounded nice from the first time I played them but I did notice some changes in the first couple of hours, after that......I couldn't tell if any other changes took place. When I first played them, there were some slight bright/harshness in the upper end but playing them over the first two hours it would get less and less and then completely disappeared. Now I never get that at all. So to be safe, I would say give it two hours of play and then listen to see if the sound has improved. ---------------- I recently hooked up a new pair of RF 7's and I have had similar results. I am currently powering these with a 7 channel 125 watt per Adcom amp , although the collective wisdom of the forum recommends 200 watt per channel amp. My current setup has more than performed its duties. I did notice a small amount of harhness when first hooked up but after several hours of use they really are amazing. I believe pound for pound the RF 7's are THE best bang for the buck, as I have had many auditions of other speakers all across the price range.
  21. Top Gun is probably at the top of my all time movie list. Thanks for the review.
  22. New for me this week: Clannad, The best of Celtic CD Chicane, Behind the sun Dance, techno CD
  23. I often speak of the Northshore theater project I recently completed. Here is some photos of a "game" room theater I finished about 6 months ago that I have had alot of fun with . With the exception of my first audiophile quality speakers from '82 which were JBL L 46's, this is my first non-Klipsch system. It serves the purpose well but the Klipsch powered Northshore theater is my gem. The line up: Panasonic TH-42PD25 42" Plasma Denon AVR-1705 receiver Yamaha DV-C 6480 DVD player Monster HTS 2300 MK II power center Polk PSW 303 sub Polk RTi 6 fronts Polk CSi 3 center Polk surrounds
