Hi Guys. As some of you know, I work full time for my church as a Worship and Music Pastor. This week, in our services, we had a report from one of the missionaries we support in Senegal, West Africa. (He and his family are home on furlough) As part of his presentation, he included a doctored picture of me. It appears that he has gotten quite adept at photoshop since the last time I saw him. For your info, I am a caucasian male, and have never been to Africa. Needless to say, our congregation got quite a charge out of this photo....(That's me on the right....)

How 'bout some good Christmas music.... In the CD Player as I type....Manhiem Steamroller--Extraordinaire. Actually any of their Christmas albums are great, but this one is my favorite.

Using your PC, there are several programs that will allow you to record analogue sorurces into your computer. My favorite is Magix Audio Cleaning lab. It retails for about 50 bucks at best buy, and has several cleaning features that will make any tape sound good. My wife has quite a collection of cassettes from the '80's that I have converted. They sound pretty decent.

I saw the C7 you are looking at on ebay. It looks like a beauty. What speakers are you planning on using it as a center for? It really is a great speaker.

He's also listing a "rare" seiko watch for 450 dollars. Look at the pics. I count at least 3 different watches in the pictures. One of them doesn't even have the same face... Somebody should report this guy.

Sounds like you got a great deal. I am not suprised at the number of inquiries he received, and I was not trying to imply that he was a shady seller. I just found it interesting that he didn't seem to know what he had, with the 80 buck starting bid for the pair. Congrats on your minty Academy! Enjoy it! Someday I'll find one close to me and finish my theater right...

The guy started the bid at $80 with no reserve, and from the description, it sounds like he will be suprised if they go for much more than that. Man I wish I was closer. I directed a kids Sunday School Program once and decided to try to wirelessly mic all 15 of the main characters. Between the dropped belt packs (the only ones that got dropped were the rental ones...) and the feedback nightmare (Fifteen open omni lavs on a 20x10 stage..I'm not sure the best sound guy in the world could have eliminated all the feedback issues...) it would have been better to just mic no one and tell the grandparents to turn up their hearing aids...[]

A friend of mine just sold his 84 Alfa Romeo Spyder for about 4 grand. That car was a real looker and a blast to drive.

I'll try again.... I know that the best match for a Forte is the Academy. Pardon the pun...its academic at this point. I am not arguing the point that it is a better match than the C7. I have heard an Academy between Forte's and would love to have one....still not my point. I have however listened extensively to a 2.2 between Forte's and would vehemently argue that it is not a better sonic match than the C7. My original post was simply to give the newbie a few choices, because we all know that the Reference series and the Synergy series would be the worst choice of all of the aforementioned centers in his situation.

Here we go round the mulberry bush the mulberry bush the mulberry bush...... I know that their is no perfect sonic match for a center channel speaker for original Forte's.--not even the Academy--except another Forte I used a 2.2v for several years between my Forte mains, and the my C7 is light years ahead of it in power, clarity, efficiency and timbre matching. I always noticed a timbre mismatch with the 2.2 on left to right pans, and rarely do with the C7. Just my 2 cents again, but maybe I'm just an idiot with lousy hearing...

All right, I'll be one of the guys to bring up a near match...[] The KLF C7 is a pretty amazing center channel if you have the space for it. It is a 38 pound monster, so it isn't a a speaker to set on top of your TV. I really like mine between my original Walnut Oil Fortes. (If you are ever looking to get rid of your Forte's , look me up here on the forum. At some point I want a pair of WO Forte's for surrounds in my HT. Farther down the Klipsch food chain for a center match would be KV4 or KV3 KG2.2v or 2.5v (same speaker--different model year.) Good luck and welcome to the forum...

Point well noted...still does anyone know what they are? Seems pretty steep price for one speaker that looks like it was possibly a DIY kit.

I did something really similiar to that mod on my Forte's after I repaired the dented in dust caps...

I didn't say that Sandra wasn't hot...just that I hate it when movie studios take an ok flick...Speed, Miss Congeniality etc...and make a sequel that so stinks up the theater that you forget that the original had any redeeming qualities. Sandra Bullocks hits seem to have this done to them more than other mediocre actrors and actresses.

I agree about the dialougue being a little weak. Played with the remote several times to catch all of the script...

Add at least one more person to rewire the electric socket that the bulb will be plugged into (all the way back to the main house breaker box)...with pure silver wire wrapped in 24K gold surrounded by flexibel platinum casing etc...[O]
