  1. w00t! Just received my amp back from Elliot-tronics today. Absolutely awesome to have my amp back up and running. I can't recommend this guy enough. He was very responsive through the whole process and kept his word on the turn time. They sound better than ever now! The sound is more pronounced and accurate and the subwoofer is delivering like I've never heard it do before. If your amp is failing and don't know about how to fix it yourself, don't hesitate to contact him and get your repair setup. It was well worth it!
  2. My thoughts exactly, Satchel. I've had mine for 5 years before they finally started producing the symptoms that others had been experiencing. I sent my Amp to elliot on 10/19/09. I hope to have the amp back this week. I'm very excited as I don't believe there is another PC speaker system on the market that matches the 5.1 ultra's (Unless you consider the iFi a direct competitor).
  3. Hey all, I've already upgraded the Front L/R speakers to the Klipsch RSX-5's, but the rear speakers & center are still stock. I've mostly seen the RCX-4 as the center upgrade for these speakers. However, I've found a RC-35 locally for $100 (Used), and wondering if the Bash Amp would be able to accommodate a center channel of that size? Also, if it would work, would it be too overpowering compared to the RSX-5's?
  4. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but if the same issue happens when you listen through your headphones, that usually indicates a control pod issue. You can purchase a new one through Klipsch: http://www.klipsch.com/na-en/products/promedia-ultra-5-1-control-module-overview/
  5. What do you mean by 'won't work'? Do they power on? Or do you press the control pod power button and nothing happens? If that's the case, I think that means the fuse has blown. Just replace the fuse, and you should be back in working order.
  6. My personal favorite for testing my HT setup is Star Trek First Contact. Watch the battle scene with starfleet against the borg cube. Definately a great 10 Minutes of sonic bliss. Also the Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith works well (hell any Star Wars film works well).
  7. Is this THE best home-audio subwoofer on the market in terms of specs? Also, how would it pair up with the speakers from the THX-Ultra2 System? Possibly overpowering or would it be a match made in heaven? How 'bout the high end speakers from the reference line as well? What kind of amp(s) would you use to run this system? Crown? Or would a high output HT Reciever work as well? I know I sound like a damn n00b (because I am), but this is still interesting as hell for pions such as myself who could only dream to afford something like that.
  8. Wow bonder! Those units match suprisingly well for that reciever being of a different manufacturer than the pioneers almost looks like they are supposed to be together. They look to be in great shape as well. What a find for $50. I gotta start gettin' my butt to some garage sales.

Wrong. I owned the Audiotrak Prodigy 7.1LT (same SPU that's on the M-Audio Revolution) before moving to the X-Fi, and only in the Gaming dept. does the X-Fi truely outperform the VIA Envy 24-HT SPU. I'll actually goes as far as saying that music with the Audiotrak sounded just a tad bit better than that of the X-Fi (although that is subjective), it's pretty much factual that the VIA Envy chip is atleast on par with that of the X-Fi in terms of music and movie playback. EDIT: I meant to quote Fouraces when I typed the above statement.
  10. Yeah, he may game faster than you, but even with him @ 2.5GHz, you'll still be able to out-do him in about any multi-tasking environment. And I bet your system sounds better too
  11. I don't know if the previous lyric was answered or not, so if it wasn't disregard the next few lines: "I see your hair is burnin' Hills are filled with fire If they say I never loved you You know they are a liar"
  12. I'm going to have to agree, Sarah McLachlan in my opinion is the best female artist out right now, and is one of my favorite artists of all time. She has a lot of emotion in her vocals and on top of that a great piano player. Fallen, is definately in my top 5 for my favorite songs. And yes, these Klipsch speakers definately do her voice/music justice.
  13. The satellites on the iFi (RSX-3's) are definately superior to the ProMedia Ultra's. It'd be nice if you could do a little side by side comparison of both to see how they sound in relation to one another. Hope you enjoy your new system.
  14. Thanks for the replies guys. One more n00b question then for ya, what exactly is tagging? and why would I want that?
  15. I'm sorry, I thought .WAV was also compressed it just didn't lose audio quality. My mistake, is there any formats that do compress but keep it sounding just as good as a .WAV file? Thanks
