  2. High speed internet enables us to do both, right? Speakers and chicks......[]
  3. Steve, You should try the Cambridge as a pre with your B&K's and RF-7's.......it has pre-outs. I use the 540a with my Crown amps and RF-7's. For a budget integrated.......I really like the sound of the Cambridge with 7's. Congrats on the score.
  4. Trust me, I was just looking at a picture of them and slobbered all over my keyboard. [] Like I said earlier, I am pre-planning my next upgrade. However, I have to be patient and realistic. The next 6-12 months could be some very trying times. If there is one thing I've learned so far in this hobby......it is to be patient and do your homework......rather than just going out and blowing hard earned money on a whim. Been there, Done That. That being said, it doesn't sound like you can go wrong with Jubs.....if you've got the room. We'll see how the economy is in the next few months ahead. I have to admit, I'm giddy just thinking about their performance. If you had to compare the Jubs to any other Klipsch speaker, which would it be? I've heard the Palladiums at Damon's house. I would have to say that to me......they sounded like an ultra-refined Reference speaker, that had midrange so smooth I've never heard out of a Heritage speaker. Fantastic speaker.....but the price is a different story.
  5. That's EXACTLY what I'm talking about. [Y][Y]
  6. That's good to know.....I have a Denon 3805 that I use from time to time for HT if I choose. I don't see Jubs on the used market too often. In fact, the only ones I'm aware of are the pair that Dean got rid of. I wonder how much?
  7. Are you pre-planning for 2 channel or home theater? Two-channel. What preamp are you using with the XTI's? What preamps have you tried besides what you're using now?
  8. You're making my pre-planning pretty easy. []
  9. Yes, the goal is to knock their socks off.....as well as their underwear. A nude listening session.......hmmm. I'll encourage most of my guests to tighten their belts and shoelaces.[]
  10. I already have XTI 2000's. (6) [Y] Despite all the back and forth discussions on them in the past.....I really like what they do for my RF-7's in a bi-amp configuration. They work better than any other amp I've tried with them in the past.
  11. A K402 on my RF-7's.........that'd be cool.[]
  12. SWL, If your goal is to truly "knock their socks off", then the BEST choice, imho, is one pair of Jubilees. Two Jubilees will absolutely smoke four LaScalas PLUS four RF-7's. In addition to impact, they will also be the most accurate you have ever heard. Best of both worlds. I have owned all three and speak from first hand experience. I sold the RF-7's. The LaScala's are my garage and outdoor speakers. The Jubilees are the pinnacle of audio. PERIOD. (MWM's + 402/k69=really fine, too, but won't fit in your room. The Jubs are so good that you won't even notice the sexy, nude women in your room. Get the Jubs! Thanks bhendrix,This is what I think I know so far: LaScala's new = 5 grand Jubs new = 7 grand......but.......do they come with a crossover network? I thought I read that they didn't......if not, more $$$? I've also heard that without the "bigger" horn they are not much better than the Khorn......that the bigger horn is where it's at. Is this true? If so, how much more for the bigger horn (the 402) ? So, I can see if I were to buy LaScala's for 5 grand.......why not just get Jubs for 7 grand? Room size not an issue because the basement is the future mancave. However, if the crossover network and the bigger horn are neccessary......how much money are we talking? Please correct any of my inaccurate assumptions.
  13. If you got it from sexy nude women a quick trip to the clinic for some ointment may do the trick. OUCH...[]
  14. Forgot to mention.....the room is 14x19x8.
  15. ........That always works. [] Anyone care to comment on: Two LaScala's vs. Four RF-7's ??? I've got the itch again. I've had some Heritage speakers before.......Forte ll's, Heresy's, KG's and Chorus. I've heard them all except Belles and Jubs. The ones that I owned never sounded as good as my beloved RF-7's. If I was to change speakers....I'd go with LaScala's. I have the subbage to make them rumble.......but four RF-7's is hard to beat. So what do you guys think? PS. My preference is not only based on sound quality......but overall impact......gotta knock their socks off. [Y]
  16. I kind of wondered the same thing about my RF-7's. There is a piece of acoustic foam that is just laying in there. I just assume that it doesn't really matter how it's in there......just as long as it is in there. Perhaps to dampen that part of the box so that it doesn't sound so hollow? At any rate......I'll leave it alone.......the bass sounds awesome. []
  17. From my experience, the Denon receiver powering the 83's probably made the 83's sound their worst.......and the Heritage speakers you heard, also. A Denon receiver without a seperate amp to my ears sounds stale, edgy, bright and anemic. Very fatiguing to lisen to.......Klipsch will expose all of these poor qualities, unfortunately. I have RF-7's.....similar to the 83's.......and I have to say that a treated room makes all the difference in the world. My RF-7's finally have a "warm" sound that I never was able to acheive by constantly changing gear in an untreated room. The room that you're auditioning these speakers in is a HUGE factor........and the source feeding the Klipsch speakers is just as critical. Whatever Klipsch speakers you choose, you can't go wrong. Finding the right combination (room, preamp, amps etc.) to bring them to their full potential is the interesting part. This forum can help a great deal in choosing the right components.........or drive you insane. []
  18. Let me ask you.........does it seem like it is lacking "presence"?..........or that it isn't drawing attention to itself......or getting your attention for that matter?
  19. That's really cool. My music and my system allow me to be 17 years old all over again........a couple times a week. []......Interesting how music can stir up emotions......and take you back to that time and place when.......[Y]
  20. askbob1,Location may have the biggest influence.......but when dialed in properly, it will blend perfect with your 7's. If you've got the room and the bread, you may want to consider another sub that goes deeper in addition to the RSW-15. (like the other subs mentioned in this thread). Your 7's and the RSW-15 will handle the mid-bass......and whatever sub you get for the real deep bass will compliment each other giving you some serious headroom. Headroom is where it's at. [Y] If you need me to spend any more of your money.....just let me know. [] Good Luck.
  21. I have had that problem with every Denon cd player I've had (3). Never had that problem with my Denon DVD player though. [] Haven't heard an Oppo yet.......but I did just pick up a used Cambridge Audio 540d DVD player for $180.00. I use it for two-channel.......very nice unit.....very nice sound. Congrats on the score. [Y]
