  1. my forte's are WO and are in very nice shape. this would be my preference and the ll's are black lacquer which would be my next favorite finish. i just thought there was a big difference in the sound. if they are really close then i will just hold out for a new set of lascals some day[]
  2. i have a pair of original forte's that i picked up this spring, i really like how these sound and they seem just the right size for the space they are being used in right now. i have heard some say the ll is much better. i have not heard the newer ones, is there a huge difference? i have been looking for a pair of ll's and now there are some on epay for BIN 600.00. they look nice, that is more than i paid for mine (400), are they worth the difference? just curious if many of you have heard both and what you think... thank you rich
  3. ok that is bad... i'm going tonight to get new pillows, my skin is just crawling. i heard from a friend that took micro-biology that that course would really affect you're outlook. guess this is a small example.
  4. i live in central ohio and would be interested in a pair for sure. was the 800.00 for all four? i only want two. preferably one with the original drivers[]
  5. hey michael if you want to lighten the load you could drop off a set of those scala's at my place... in central ohio, just thinkin of you ole' buddy[] i'm down for the 600.00 + some gas money[:#]
  6. khorns/cheap why can't i paste into this field? possible great price... a little rough around the edges to look at but could be fixed up if looks are important. if these were in ohio i would be keeping a close eye on them.
  7. happy birthday to you... i won't be 50 for another 7 weeks yet where do you live? i want one of those halfdollars you are handing out!
  8. Ever seen a depiction of how those martians look? Seems like that would be enough reason for me to take a trip over to earth, check out a beach during spring break, hit vegas, hmmm loads of possabilities[]
  9. look for some forte's, i picked up a set this summer for 400.00 and they are awsome.... loads of base and a very nice overall speaker, imho. if you find a deal you might be able to take the "left over $" and get some new vinyl or cd's. just a thought. i think forte's would be nice in a room the size you have, possibly better that heresy's? i am not an expert so please use your own judgement since yours is the the one that counts.
  10. please do not include me in your "ALL". some of us out here try to recycle everything, drive less, conserve more, and whine less. kindly direct your speach towards those that choose to go blindly about their way, caring not what or how much they waste and toss away as if there were of no consequence.
  11. don't park the truck too close or you might blow the paint right off...hmmm, no more waxing?
  12. i ordered a new cartridge for my tt from needledoctor.com, good price all seemed fine. today they delivered it, i opened the box and found peanuts and my invoice... so i called and explained that my package did not include the object i had been charged for, the guy came just short of out right calling me a liar and thief three different times. then he changed his tune to perhaps it was ups, was the box opened? damaged? no i said it was just empty, after accusing me again he said he would note this on my file and send another out. i am not a thief. i guess it is simply impossible to think that they made a mistake huh? i feel better now thank you rich
  13. bake a loaf of whloe wheat bread, cut while warm two slices about 1/2" thick, cover each slice with your favorite peanut butter, then slice a just picked rip tomato, out of the middle take a slab or two about 1" thick, place between bread and enjoy. really it's great.
  14. i would like to keep the speakers smallish. i listened to some axiom milliennia m22ti's with denon equipment and they sounded nice to me. anyone heard these? my original thought was a pair of heresy's. are these in the same league? the axioms are a bit smaller and might be a better fit but having said that i will be calling this rig home for a year or two so i want it to soung really nice. any thoughts appreciated. thank you rich EDIT: i am looking for SPEAKERS NOT PEAKERS. thanks
  15. move the system to the garage or better yet an out building. it sounds (no pun intended) awfull, espically to place her in a position where she has to endure pain or suffering or deny you of something you enjoy.
  16. Me, I want a HOOOLA HOOOOOP!... this album and anything like it "makes me wanna puke"
  17. ---------------- On 7/25/2005 2:15:48 PM scriven wrote: Hi Rich, Q1 - Make sure that is a phonograph input and not a headphone output! Q2 - You don't have to split S/PDIF to get two channels. It is a digital signal path and supports multiple channels. Edit: In re-reading your original post it does not sound like your receiver has digital inputs so the S/PDIF will NOT work with your receiver. ---------------- thank you scriven so would i then use the analog outs back to the receiver or would it be better to try to adapt back to my crummy computer speakers?
  18. better for all around music listening pleasure? any opinions?
  19. i got my e-mu 1212m about 7 weeks ago and have just now found time to install it, summer is so hectic... the install went fine now i need to learn how to use the thing! Seems like apples and oranges to me, the sound card has no jacks that look like they will hook up to any of my stuff. I am going to record vinyl to my hard disk eventually. The receiver has a phono and cd jack, along with a tape1 and tape2 in and out jacks all with left and right hookups Q: hook tt into phono jack on receiver, then tape 1 out into the analog in jack on the sound card??? Q: can i use an out (which) jack from the sound card back to my receiver to use for monitoring and general computer use (cd playing on the computer, listening to my wave files)? (use the s/pdif out with an adaptor to split back into two channels at the receiver? any help will be appreciated thank you rich
