  1. Well in the context of the song I believe he's listening to an old tube radio in some dingy hotel somewhere. Mark
  2. No I don't know him. He's from Audiokarma. I don't like it over there anyways. They're forum nazis.
  3. Brac, yes they're worth what I paid for them.
  4. Well it happened pretty quick. I responded to his add that he needed someone to pick them up for him on a Sunday. Monday at work I checked my mail and he was asking if I could pick them up that evening. I told him I could and volunteered my cell phone# and all that. I asked if they were payed for and they weren't so I volunteered my funds more or less but I did state that I need them back soon. Thanx for the replies but I've decided to write and give him a couple of weeks after that they're mine. I really don't want them I figured I'd help someone out. Mark
  5. Hey all, I went on AudioKarma and volunteered myself for the Pony express. I picked up a pair of Heresy II's for someone. They're kind of beat up but they are definetely refurbishable. They need new tweeter diaphrams and have a non-Klipsch woofer in one. I had to stop by the ATM and pay for them myself. I've had several e-mails with this fella but anytime I mention my dough it's unanswered. When I volunteered to pick them up I didn't intend on financing his speaker project. He says he's coming up here sometime this summer so what I'm supposed to wail until then? Here's my question. Would it be wrong to give him an ultimatum that if I don't get the monies in a week then they're mine. I picked the speakers up on April 7th. Almost a month ago. Thanks for any advice. Mark
  6. I believe this guy is in North Syracuse. I work a few miles from there. I believe this guy has sold a few pair of Heresy's on E-bay recently, no? If you need any assistance please PM me and I'll be glad to help. Mark
  7. Greg, That's too funny. Recently at my job we've been having a lot of Russians and Ukranians making deliveries. A few months ago my dog was sick and I had him in the warehouse so I could later take him to the vets. Anyway this russian fella was admiring my dog and he said "You must take 50 to 70 grams vodka. Pour down dog's throat. Hold mouth". I laughed so hard because I already knew that his cure would have something to do with vodka. Seems like they use it for everything. Kinda like the old man in "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" that used windex for all kinds of ailments. Mark
  8. Woah, that's too cool. We had a discussion about you today at work and everyone wanted to see your pictorial so I showed them. Glad to see you had a nice visit. Mark
  9. When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years. - Mark Twain That's awesome. I've never heard that one.
  10. Gary, this has been posted before on here. At first everyone thought it was a joke. But I guess it is infact true. I think it's ugly and probably not worth the money, unless you're a collector. But what do I know anyways. Mark
  11. Very nice. Thanx for sharing the pics. I need some of those bassbins. Sadly I don't have the room for those. We really need to move into a bigger place. Mark
  12. Yeah no doubt. Lol it took me almost a half an hour to tie the counterweight on. I can't see that small anymore.
  13. Thanx Larry, I'll try a nice new exacto. Mark
  14. Hey all, while attempting to change my cartridge I grabbed the terminal in the wrong spot and tore the wire out. I was using hemostats too. I guess I should get some glasses. Well anyways how do you strip the cloth insulation from that tiny little wire? Many moons ago I did the same thing and I burned the insulation off. But that was someone elses TT. I want to do it right.Thanx in advance. Mark
  15. Yaaay! I think I'm going to put the new cartridge in my TT this weekend. I've only had it two months now. But not tonight. Tonight I'm chillin. Been a long week.
  16. Hey Bill, That 1937 Zenith, is it a tombstone type with the round black face? That's my dream radio actually. I've done my research and I know the model I like is in fact a 1937 model. My father had one once. Mark
  17. One quick question though if I may. All I really need to try this out is a pair of XLR male to RCA female adapters correct? I don't think an ART cleanbox is necessary, right? Mark
  18. I have one but have only used it a few times. It's been in storage all winter in the mezzanine at work along with literally a ton of other stuff. I haven't used it in a home setting but am willing to try it out sometime. I was completely satisfied with the performance of it for the limited time I did use it. I bought it on Dr. Who's recommendation. BTW you spelled experience wrong. Mark
  19. Yeah it's about time. How does Madonna get right in and these guys gotta wait til half of em are dead. Madonna isn't rock and roll at all, come on. These guys rocked hard. Good stuff. Mark
  20. Watch the movie "The Invisible" in the first five minutes of the movie there's a scene that takes place in the basement where you'll see a Decorator Heresy sequestered in the corner next to the workbench. It looks like it's stacked on top of a custom subwoofer however that may be the other Heresy laid sideways. Is this a movie prop or did this scene take place in the producers basement or something? Mark
  21. Those are sweet. They might even fetch $500.
