  1. We're in Wescott Plantation and yes, the prices are freakey. I left here about 6 years ago and the house I had on James Island has doubled in value. I grew up on Johns Island too and yes there are several members around here. Me, you, Willy and Hunt(who I don't see hardly but he did sell me my LaScalas) and I'm sure there's somebody else. Anyway, the Legends are nearly ready. I found the Ref 50 and have the mains, center and sub hooked up. I need to finish unpacking and then I can hook up the surrounds. I got an XBox 360 for fathers day and I've finally gotten around to hooking that up. I'll let you know when the rest is rolling and you can give 'er a listen.
  2. I bought one a while back to run a second HT. I started out with RB 35s for mains but have ended up with a Rx7 system. In my opinion, that receiver pushes the 7s very nicely. I do use the back surround channels to "bi-amp" the RFs, but do not notice much of an improvement (not even 3 db according to rat-shack meter). I say, get it.
  3. I have both and like the Legends much much better. Would you want to sell the KLF C7? Is it black or oak?
  4. There were casualties. On one of the RF 7s, EVERY pin for the speaker grille was completely broken off. They packed them in a box with the grilles on, then stuffed pillows, etc against the grill to "protect" them. Well, those cheap azz plastic pins didn't make it. Another small TV sparked and smoked when my son hooked up his PS2, probably dropped it too but there is no signs of physical damage. A large cherry (fake but nice) corner computer desk was completely destroyed. That would have been easier to take had it fallen over on the truck or accidentally dropped, but it was destroyed during disassembly. That's right, they literally tore it apart to get it out the house. I can't find my RS-7s I can't find my Reference 50 Willy, to answer your question, I would be equally pissed Gary, I'm hangin' on to the Legends and everything else like grim death, which won't be far off if I have to go through this again. But the boat is still in Ballentine. The good news is, the family room is really big and the Reference system has plenty of room. The Bonus Room is plenty big enough for my dedicated set up. I have a nice sized sitting room for the LaScalas so no more are they relegated to the garage. So now if I can find everything I'll be in business.
  5. so Allied's already dropped one TV and I step out to see them moving the LaScalas...........eeeeeasy I say, that 7 year old crt tv is one thing, but we'll have issues if you hurt one of those.
  6. That's where Checker's gets the meat for their burgers.
  7. Hey Gary, Sorry for not getting back to you like I said I would before, but things have been crazy. Hey, if you want to at least hear what they sound like, they probably will be hooked up until Saturday, but I wont be home until Friday. If you come by, you won't have to worry about getting roped into helping since Allied is doing a total pack/move deal. I'll have the boat in the back yard too if you'd like to see that. BTW, the lounge seats are plenty big for stretching out. You can call me @ 513-0107. Yep, that's right, I posted my cell phone number. It will be cut off in a week or so so have at it anyone who wants to prank call me. Willy, Wescott Plantation is in the Oakbrook area, across from King's Grant if you know where that is off Dorchester Road. There's 27 holes of golf, hope my system doesn't screw up anyone's shot. If so, hopefully their pard will give them a free mulligan.
  8. All I can say is GOOD LUCK. I've been looking for one for a long time, although I have now given up. I did score a really nice fully functional and cosmetically excellent SA-800 on ebay. I use it to drive a pair of LaScalas. I can't get that thing much past "3" and the output is deafening. That particular "SA" line of receivers have a very pure, clean sound. The 1000 would be such a waste on Heritage stuff. May be great on a pair of RF 7a though. Billy , There's no substitute for headroom ... [][] I know that's right Willy, but dammit man those LaScalas get really really reALLY loud ( as I know the Belles do) when listening to music. Now you use yours for HT so I can see the headroom needing to be significant, but honestly, if you were just a 2 channel guy do you think you would need that kind of power for the Belles. BTW, I'm moving on the 21st. We'll be up in Wescott Plantation and yes, I have room for all my stuff. I'm not having to give up a thing, equipment-wise that is. Not the case for my wallet as far as "rent" is concerned. Billy

  10. Procal Harum (sp?) at the Municipal Auditorium sometime in the early 70s. I had to be younger than 10, prolly 8 or 9 and my sister was babysitting me. She had to take me on her date. I remember hating it. Damn it was so loud and I was scared. Reefer, pills, arm dope in the bathrooms. I was scarred for life.
  11. The pontoon is a Crest Family Fish 25 w/ trailer, 115 hp 4 stroke Honda, galvanized trailer, CD, ski tow bar, bimini top, swim ladder, built in tackle boxes, sink, pop up changing deal under a table, canvas full cover, Garmin color GPS w/ chip for Lake Murray, everything bought brand new from Lighthouse Marina in March 2005, hasn't been used but one summer (last) and if I had to guess I'd say it has 60-90 hours on it (has hourmeter but I haven't seen it since last August). This one is cool because it has swivel "basstype" seats at all 4 corners, and 3 other lounge sofas. The drivers seat is adjustable and extra wide, 2 people can sit at the helm easily. The back of the boat where the sink is has a vinyl floor and nice carpet from there up. The boat is kept over in Ballentine right on hwy 76 in a boatyard behind the tackle shop. I'm out of town alot but if you wanted to look at it I could call them and they'd let you in to see it. Let me know. I'll be out of town at least until monday of next week but maybe even longer. Billy
  12. Hey Gary, I am actually in the process of moving like I said before. I haven't ruled out selling off some stuff. The offer still stands if you want to give my KLF set up a listen. Until I sell this house, I can't buy one in Charleston so I don't know what kind of room I'm going to have. I tell you what, you buy my house and I'll throw in the whole Legend set up, homemade KLF 20 center and all. They sound great in that 16 x 24 room they're in. 4 other bedrooms to boot. C'mon bro, Irmo is the place to be.
  13. It is official. I will be moving back to Charleston. Now I have to sell my house. The realtor sez "get all that stuff out of there(speakers mainly). We have looked at houses but can't really do anything until we get a contract on this one. Hey Willy, you out there? How would you like to home audition the RC/RFs? That would gain me some space until the move. My intentions are to find a place big enough to house it all eventually. Oh well, we'll see what happens.
  14. Ohhhhhhh boy. It's happening againnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Make 'em stop mommy please please, tell them to be quiet
  15. I can't hear anYTHiNG! over this damn ringing!!!!!
  16. Yes I did, sorry for the reply(or lack there of). To all who have expressed interest in various pieces I will clarify.......The move isn't a done deal but after today's conversation I'd say it's getting pretty serious. There are some relocation and salary issues to work out and if that keeps going like it is then I'm gone. The absolute fact is that I will have a smaller home in Charleston. That's pure economics. There will not be room for everything I have. When that time comes I'll list everything that's going and give everyone here first(and probably only) shot at purchasing. Everything I have is pretty popular so I doubt very seriously I'd have to look any further.
  17. guess I'll have to sell the pontoon and get another center console. Chris, you may get your wish on the LASs
  18. Yeah, I grew up in Charleston and really had no plans to go back but I always answer the call. I'd much rather stay in Irmo but oh well. It's not an absolute done deal but pretty close. I will tell you that if I keep anything it will be the KLFs. I like them better than anything I have. To me, they seem to be a cross between Heritage and Reference although they in no way can hang with the LaScalas for efficiency. Oh, and Willy, I doubt that I will have more room in Charleston for stuff. Have you ever compared $ per square foot to Charleston versus Columbia. It will BLOW your mind. I may have to scale back to nothing but the RB 35s. I knew I kept them for some reason.
  19. As much of a PITA moving is, it's looking like we're going to have to do it. The good news is the position will be considered a promotion and it's in Charleston, my home town. I'm not sure just how much of this audio gear is going to make the trip if it does happen. I'll probably scale down to one HT system and try to hang on to the LaScalas, although I haven't become too attached to them yet. I'll probably sell the RF/RC/RS 7s, Polk Monitor 60s, either the Martin Logan or RSW 15 sub, Pioneer VSX 1015 receiver and quite possibly the LaScalas. I'll probably just keep the Legend system, one sub and the B & K electronics. I'm just putting this out there to let people know and to see what interest there is. I'll know in a few weeks if this is going to happen. Billy
  20. If you do start downloading macros/IR codes, etc into that thing, make sure you first save the current programming. My Ref 50 also came with that one and I was messing with it one day and wiped out the program. It wouldn't work with my pre until I found the right code. The heck of it was that there are like 20 B & K Ref 50 codes to choose from. Weird. Anyway, make sure you save the current image before messing around with it. Billy
  21. My Suburban gets 15 mpg. My wife's Yukon XL gets 16 mpg. my son plays Pop Warner football and AAU Travel basketball, no soccer. She is not stupid, I am. I buy too much Klipsch.
  22. That's me, sitting on my dad's shoulders at Tweetsy Railroad
