  1. All I know is, if I can figure a way to get Gary's TT and whatever albums he's letting go before someone else does, I'll be a vinyl guy again. I do remember distinctly in the late 80's when CDs started getting more and more popular hearing LaGrange on CD. Now, I had a decent TT and cassette deck and everything I had was LP or well recorded LP. Anyway, the songs sounded so hollow. I made those comments then and everyone said i was crazt. Hmm.
  2. Nice edit. That was NOT a Freudian slip!
  3. I don't have any experience there, but I would guess something by Klipsch. I have seen some on ebay pretty reasonable.
  4. You'll love the Klenks. It's like going to Bose to Klipsch(EDIT LMAO). They used to have a killer warranty, too. Not sure anymore as I've been out of the field for 14 years now. And yes, i'm getting fat!
  5. I remember when I first got into the business, just about everyone used Wiss. Malco wasn't making snips then so the Wiss were mainstream. Then CC Dickson starting carring the Klenks. Much larger than the Wiss but man were they nice. People thought they were some BS brand but quickly realized they were a superior product. GO KLENK!
  6. In Columbia SC and on my equipment, the best PQ comes from Fox, followed by ABC then CBS. Now I am talking about for football games here so other programming may differ. I use standard rabbitt ears for an antenna. ANyway, on the CBS games, I tend to see more artifacts/pixelated (sp) images than on the others. And by far the rabbitt ears on local HD is much better than satellite HD (ESPN and ESPN 2) and Sunday Ticket HD games. Maybe it's my TV.
  7. Couple of nice Dorado there jacksonbart. I had a Mako 22 and before that a 23' Grady White and fished every fishable weekend 45-65 miles off Charleston or Hilton Head for 10 years. Now I live in Columbia and have a pontoon boat and cruise Lake Murray with the family. I'm much happier now actually, but I do somewhat miss working weedlines and hearing those clickers scream. Not enough to get back into it though, it's completely out of my system. Damn all that work.
  8. I'm running one with RB 35s as mains and RS 7s for surrounds off of a Pioneer VSX 1015 receiver and it's great. Your Denon is way more receiver so I'll think you'll be happy. Don't worry about outclassing your mains with the 7, it's light years ahead of a RC 35.
  9. I like the way they put Christmas lights on all the machinery on the little island. BTW, how do they get them across that lake?
  10. I'm running RB 35 for mains, RC 7 center and RS 7 surrounds for a second(wifey) system and the 7 matches quite well. I have a line on some RF 35s and if I can ever get the time to post some pictures of the RBs I might just get to upgrade, but I'll tell you, if it doesn't work out and I "had" to keep the RB 35s, I would remain happy because they are a very capable speaker. You will be very happy. Of course, you're going to get the RB 75 reccomendations coming in. I've never heard them but I understand that they are much better than the 35s, but also twice the money. I'm not sure how they can sound twice as good, esp to my concrete ears. Billy
  11. I actually bought them from Audio Video Warehouse in Bluffton (Hilton Head area) but I have had a few conversations with Mr Frawley and he is quite a guy. He really knows his stuff. He sorta reminds me of what PWK might be like, he even resembles him. Did you go to Carolina?
  12. Yes, I delivered 1080 of Willy's 1360 rediculous watts to him. And the next time i'm in Charleston I wanna hear what 5 Belles sound like driven with it.
  13. I would be interested but I have no idea what it's worth.
  14. I think the Heresy sounds sweet. But if you end up wanting a pair of RB 35s, I have a pair that is practically new purchased last summer from an authorized dealer. Someone is liable to bash my head in but here it goes. I just put together a "small" system for 2 channel listening for practically the same use as you just described. I was in Tweeter and they are selling Polk T90 for $350 a pair. They are the Euro version of the Monitor 60. Now, I LOVE Klipsch ok, but the price point being what it was, I had to give them a listen. I listened in Tweeter and said, ok, WTH, I'll take 'em. I set them up in the computer room with an Adcom GFA 545 II, Carver pre-amp and an old Technics CD changer and I must say I'm impressed. I was so impressed that I'm now wondering what they are going to sound like with a really nice source. From what I gathered over on the Polk forum, these speakers do very well on tubes as well. For what you looking to do, I would consider them. They can be found at Tweeter.com and the shipping is free. So I branched out a little!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. I have a computer connected to a Samsung 61" DLP RPTV. It is stunning. I upgraded the video card to a Radeon 9800 Pro and am using the DVI input of the Sammy. Scale and res are perfect. Text is sharp and easy to read, even small print. Nothing is fuzzy. The first time people see it they say DAMN...as did I. I do not use it as my main computer, but it's really nice to be able to switch right over, pick up the wireless mouse and keyboard and take off. It's also pretty cool with games as well. I'm sure the huge screen you have will be very cool. I'm no expert by any means, but I do think a strong video card will give you a better picture, and I saw a measureable difference between using the DVI input vs the VGA input. Have fun.
  16. OK, how about $350. I regularly work in Charlotte, Charleston, Hilton Head, Greenville, Myrtle BEach and Savannah. I could deliver to any of those points or thereabouts. Billy
  17. I am looking to sell a very nice pair of RB 35s with stands. I will post pics when I get home later tonite. I have the original receipt and they were bought from an authorized dealer about 8 months ago. $400.00 plus shipping
  18. Yes they do.... this pic is not even 2 years later (and about 6 months ago)
  19. Hey, isn't Paul Harvey the Bose spokesman? All the more of a reason that my picture is aprapo for this site. Who am I to talk, I just brought home a brand new pair of Polk T90s (Euro version of the Monitor 60) for a 2 channel system in my wife's computer room. They were such a steal I had to get them. $350, NIB current line, small footprint, great looks and quality sound for no louder than we will be playing them. Oh well, for that price I can always turn them.
  20. and at my house, you would, cuz that picture's actually a couple of years old (only one I had on my computer at work and one of her cutest to boot) and I still don't think they're all picked up. You see, Lynne is a little "laid back" when it comes to picking up around the house, plus, she homeschools our 12 year old male human, all 5'11" 175 lbs, attention span of a lightning bug,of him.
