Is the Sonic Impact Super-T a worthwhile upgrade from a T-amp?

Colter, if I end up getting the Super-T you have first dibs on my T-amp and the A/C adaptor I bought from Sonic Impact for it. -

Colter, did you try ordering directly from Sonic Impact? si5.com is their website I think. -
I'd recommend to go with the RSW or Sub-12.

Thumbs up to that dealer! Its nice when stores go the extra mile, isn't it? Where I work I've seen our store bend over backwards so that customers are happy. Its nice to work for a place like that.

Yamaha RX-V3300 Receiver, Klipsch SW12-II Sub and No LFE??
wuzzzer replied to FalconYT's topic in Home Theater
You don't need a special sub cable, although for signal quality it is good to use a shielded, directional interconnect cable. So, you're saying that you did set your receiver to sub+mains or something like that? If you have your receiver hooked up to your sub via speaker cables and then to your front mains you shouldn't have to adjust the volume on the sub at all, it should adjust with your volume setting on the receiver. You definitely want to use the LFE output on the receiver, not the speaker outputs. What other audio out options other than PCM/Dolby are available on the Dishnet DVR? Does it have a coaxial digital output in addition to the optical output? If so, try hooking that up to your coaxial input on your receiver. It sounds the problem is somewhere in the setting of something. Unfortunately you have a lot of somewheres and somethings in your setup to monkey around with! -
I put my Forte IIs 2 feet from each other facing inward. Those are my Klipsch headphones. Not very portable, but they do a good job. (Kidding, of course [] )

Anyone has experienced on buying a refurbished product?
wuzzzer replied to SteveK's topic in Home Theater
I've bought refurbished digital cameras, DVD players, several items. Never a single problem. -
If you look at the Klipsch main page (by clicking on the Klipsch logo in the upper left of the screen) it will take you to an area that shows different options, one of them being "Recommended Systems." The RF-62 or RF-52 system looks like it might be something to consider. Plus, the prices shown are with the sub and since you already have a sub you can deduct the price of it and add it to the other speakers instead.

Wow. Its a good thing they didn't ask her to find the U.S. on a map. [:S]

"Gorgeous gizmos" article in USA Weekend - we're sunk

"Manufacturers are paying attention to the "wife appeal" of consumer electronics more and more; however, that doesn't mean men still can't use some help tucking things in." "While flat-panel plasma and LCD TVs give you a slick and slim big-screen experience, they're still visible. And even though wall mounting eliminates an unattractive stand, when the TV is off, you're still left staring at a giant black box." Since when did it become a faux pas to be able to see your TV?? Today's TVs may be larger in screen size than they were years ago, but their overall girth is incredibly less than when tube TVs ruled the roost. "A surround-sound system is probably the hardest sell to neat freaks because many TVs have perfectly good speakers." Perfectly good speakers? Since when?? "Wireless speakers exist, but this still leaves the speakers in sight." And??? Are speakers that you can see akin to leaving a dirty pair of underwear lying around when company visits? "My, what a beautiful home you have! And the living room, its...its...OH MY GOD! ARE THOSE SPEAKERS IN THE CORNER?!?!?! {faints}" I must be one of the fortunate few who's wife/significant other doesn't mind a giant TV screen, huge speakers and a subwoofer sitting out for all to see. -
This is why I can't talk to my daily friends about audio.

There's always a TON of white van junk being peddled on craigslist around here. I would love to run into a white van seller someday! -

Audio CDs take less than 10 seconds to cue up and play from the time the tray is closed, that's a nice improvement over almost any other DVD player I've had before.

No, it uses a different chip from Microtek (I think??). I played a CD in the oppo this morning for a couple hours while i was gone. Now that I'm home and listening to it, the highs seem clearer than they did in the 981. Everything about the audio is at least as good if not better than the 981. I can't comment on SACD or DVD-Audio but so far audio CDs sound very good. I already sold my 981 to a member on here so I don't have them to do an exact A/B comparison but I listen to my CDs enough to know if there's any difference in sound. The oppo also does have a button that disables all video circuitry so that the audio signal doesn't receive any possible interference from it.
